@@KeyKEYadventures I had the blessing of flying them every week back in the day as a part of being a Management Consultant - the only thing I wished was to have been able to use my personal cards and maximize the earning potential and getting to hopeful Diamond Medallion status. Got to Platinum through a status challenge which was super lucrative for sure, and got to keep it through lockdown times for a hot second, which was great when I did travel during that COVID era haha

I would agree where when I was Delta Silver or Gold, I got upgraded once to first class. When I was Delta Platinum, it helped heavily and consistently (except when I was flying out of their hub in the ATL airport where I'm competing with many Diamond members etc) That being said, a SUB is like taking what's in front of you, in the good way, versus taking a slower path to achieve your goal with Delta cards - which you can do after collecting a SUB ;)

If you could only choose one, and given the context, I would most likely go with the Amex Platinum - mainly because there are more benefits for more than one person with the Delta Reserve. I.e., trying to redeem the companion flight ticket/going out of your way to use the benefit can be a hassle (unless you have a plan). If you are aiming for a minimum of Delta Gold status (ideally Platinum status), then I would consider the Delta Reserve to help you get it faster Multiplier wise, if you always fly Delta, I wouldn't worry about the 5x vs 3x, yet if you are open/don't just fly only Delta, then the Amex Plats transfer partners can be worth it that much more. Lounges whilst flying Delta as you know are available by having the Amex Plat (except for Basic Economy ticket bookings) I don't disagree that there's definitely merit to consider one versus another, simultaneously, if hotel status' like Hilton Gold and Marriott Gold matter to you whilst traveling/in your travel lifestyle, then the Amex Platinum helps more for that too

Couple things - the way I understood is you're just looking for a way earn Delta miles overall - before I answer, do you care about Delta status by chance?

@@LalitDevraj to an extent I do. I prefer Comfort+. I don't know how often I would get an upgrade to that if I made it to Silver status.

​@@robertwilliams6218It can happen but less likely than not unless you're almost always at an opportune airport and time/day of the week - and even then That being the case, I would focus on amassing more, i.e, decide on the following two things: 1) What is ideal/typical redemption you currently are aware of and willing to do (ex. You may redeem 15k miles consistently in Domestic versus someone who is optimizing for Business/First Class seats) 2) See if it makes sense to stick to a Delta card or if its worth paying the annual fee for the excess value you would hope to get from Amex Gold for example

This is a loaded question haha - what's the overarching goal? Like, wanting to get the next bonus/earn Delta miles exclusively or something else?

I have delta Amex gold, won’t qualify for welcome bonus on platinum. Wondering if the stay benefits on delta platinum will substitute for the one free night on chase boundless

The non-Delta Amex Platinum, aka, the normal Amex Platinum, negative. You'll earn through your spend with Delta but nothing extra by spending with the specific Amex Platinum card itself
