It ended up being cut, but my favorite scene in the whole movie was during the music scene, after they show deku and his blue electricity they cut to bakugo and his orange/redish scene and he literally gets so hot he walks through and melts rock. That scene give me chills every time

They passed it on through the blood, you can see Deku's blood on his finger, and bakugo has a cut on his, and you just have to take in DNA, not eat. It only wasn't permanent because the people inside One for All didn't want so. They are also the reason all might said that one for all can be passed on. But not stolen.

The transfer was through blood , and it was instant , cause when deku ate it he had to digest . Bakugo only needed a couple of heart beats to pump the blood .

That thing about the transfer actually does make sense, with some added information from later in the manga, like mid season 6. So it does make sense

If Deku wants to pass OFA he needs to give his DNA to someone, in this scene they have wounds so he pass it to Bakugou through blood

To answer some of your questions : 1. Deku and Bakugo transfered OFA by blood to blood transfer via the open cuts in their fingers. Remember it's DNA that is the key to transfer not just eating a hair. 2. My theory is that because Deku didn't really want to lose OFA and that Bakugo didn't want to receive OFA the predecessors ( Who are like soul of OFA) Concluded that they should remain with Deku. Also them staying with Deku makes more sense physically. Because that'll be explained later in the manga.

Yeah this was supposed to be the original ending to the whole show but thankfully, somebody smacked Horikoshi silly and made him continue it! Bakugo with OFA still gives me goosebumps…imagine if it was Todoroki Also he shared it through the shared blood. When Deku and Bakugo touched fingers, that’s where the transfer of DNA occurred

I really cried on the final fight. The way he passed the OFA and when Deku said Goodbye, One for All... Really breaks my heart..

I saw this movie in theaters right before the pandemic started. It was amazing, and I'm glad I was able to enjoy it on the big screen.

It's not just hair. All Might said anything with his DNA could do it. Hair was just the least gross thing he could come up with. Bakugo had a cut on his hand and Deku had blood on his. He placed his blood directly into Bakugo's system allowing him to get it faster than when he got it. This is just conjecture on my part, but I believe one for all has it's own agency. We have already seen there are people living in side of it. Not just images or memories, but people capable of having conversations with Deku. The rules for each quirk are not set in stone. Each is unique and they don't come with any sort of instruction manual. All Might was completely unaware that the vestiges were self aware or that their quirks could also manifest until it happened. Understanding a quirk comes form observation. Its possible that when Deku gave OFA to Bakugo they became connected and the connection can go both ways. However there was never any point until now to transfer the power back to the previous owner. For certain reasons they collectively or by majority vote chose to return to Deku once the battle was over. Keep in mind not even the vestiges fully understand how OFA works.

That moment of Deku giving up One for All, along with his dream, was a discarded ending Horikoshi planned. But, because this movie is canon people theorize than one of Deku's quirks is the power of sharing temporaly the One for All.

I think Deku thought to transfer One For All through wounds on their hands, like mixing blood. Side effect: They are now blood brothers.

To be fair, they wouldn't consider a massive villain attack on an island with no crimes because it is very unlikely. They thought that the students are only going to be fulfilling basic hero duties for the most part.

The canon explanation for why the quirk didn't transfer is that the vestiges just chose not to allow it. That's why All Might said that All for One couldn't be stolen way back in season 2. But the fan theory that I liked that floated around before people knew about the vestiges is that because Deku felt he had no choice, it didn't technically meet the criteria of being 'voluntary' I also like the out of universe reason for the ending which is that apparently Deku transferring the power to Bakugou to save the day was one of the first ending of the series the writer had. He changed his plan, but thought this would be a nice homage to that original plan

Katsuma running was a parallel to deku running to save bakugo in the first season

crazy part about bakugo getting OFA is that it boosted his own quirk by atleast 100x since in one scene, his explosion looks like a nuclear bomb

So, like literally everyone else is saying here in the comments, Bakugo temporarily got One For All because it was a willing transfer of DNA from both parties. It cannot be taken nor given unless both sides are in agreement. Nothing needs to be ingested, there just needs to be a transfer of DNA in some manner. And, like I said in the last video, this movie is 1000% fine to watch before season 5, because it literally takes place before season 5 and it spoils absolutely nothing going forward from season 4. We knew of the spirits in One For All since the tournament in season 2 and we knew One For All was the combination of two quirks shortly after. Yes, we get more context in season 5, but this movie doesn't touch on any of that. Anyone who says otherwise is factually wrong. That being said, this movie was incredible. It's tied with the first movie for me personally. From what I can see, it's been generally well recieved beyond the debates of how canon it is and the stupid arguments of when it should be watched (correct answer being between seasons 4 and 5, your welcome). The 3rd movie was not nearly as good as the first two, but it was still good. It can be safely watched after season 5. Don't let idiots tell you otherwise again.

The same reason exists that All Might was still able to use the embers of One For All even after passing it to Deku. In that moment after passing it he could still use the embers, but since Bakugo was knocked out the transfer didn't pass through.

I believe the creator said this movie was suppose to be the original ending of the series but he decided to scrap it and use it as a movie.

They keep saying that sending them to the island alone was crazy because of all the past experiences, but they keep forgetting that without Katsuma being there none of this would’ve happened. Nine would’ve found someone else with the activation of type B blood, and/or Katsuma wouldn’t be on the island at all. Also nine’s Association with the league of villains was that of only an experiment, then he went off and did his own thing.

I just want to clarify to you guys. It was not a miracle. There is a lot about One for All that even All Might does not know. He sees and tell the details that are possible from his end but it doesn't mean All Might was making a correct interpretation(just like real life). That is why I love the writing of this anime.

One For All could be transferred to other people if the current holder has the intention to pass it on and it only can be transferred through DNA, so it's not limited to hair only. That moment when Bakugo and Deku touch hand together, them both have cuts on their fingertips so the Deku's blood mixed with Bakugo's blood and enter his body through that cut. And as for the reason why OFA is going back to Deku at this point still a miracle, but the complete explanation will be on S6

I think the reason why the transaction (is that the right word?) worked is because both Bakugou and Deku are injured in that moment. Meaning, bakugou takes in one for all through Deku's blood and through a wound on his hand. That's how I understood it. 19:14

Duk: His some kind of greek mythology creature. Me: Correct! The chimera is a monster from greek mythology. Resembling a lion with a goat head protruding from it's back and it's tail tipped with a snake head, it was also capable of breathing fire. The chimera was killed the greek hero Bellerophon who in later depictions threw a spear down the creature's throat, where the metal melted due to the fire breath, drowning the beast. This inspired how todoroki would defeat the mha depiction of chimera. Horikoshi also based the mha chimera on godzilla.

None of the films are manga canon which some people don't like but I think is totally fine, it gives room for them to do awesome what if crazy stuff like this. I think the main point of all 3 of the films is to just be really fun visual spectacles that you can enjoy and get hyped over, not super deep lore perfect revelations. If you can accept that they become a whole lot more fun to watch.

I love this movie, but they never should have had that 1 line of dialogue which is All Might saying "he must have been asleep before the transfer finished" take that 1 line out and no one has an issue haha.

Movies rarely have an impact on the series. They do throw in easter eggs of some things to come.

The transfer here is just for movie fun, its not canon and they have a copout so it "works" for the movie. The creator did say this was one of the possible endings originally, so imagine Nine was Shigaraki.

It was stated that OFA can only be transferred based on the will of the user. Deku wanted to give Bakugo the quirk, and therefore when he touched Bakugos finger the transference was made through the blood. OFA is transferred through DNA which is why Deku swallowed Allmights hair, which shows theres different ways the quirk can be passed down. I believe the predecessors of OFA prevented Bakugo from getting OFA entirely which is why Allmight mentions them, either because it would have had huge repercussions on bakugo (most likely death) or because of dekus ability to utilise OFA - not spoiling.

they needed to share dna not necessarily eat something so they shared through blood so it was faster. as for the reason deku still has one for all my theory is that one for all is dekus quirk and operates to his will. so in this instance i think he wasnt necessarily intending to transfer but to SHARE his power to defeat an overwhelming threat. Like maybe the vestiges in one for all had something to do with it but i like the idea that deku has the possibility to share power without losing his quirk because it is more interesting character development wise than just the vestiges saying no bakugo cant have it

This fight was intended to be original idea of Horikoshi for MHA ending, but instead of Nine it would be All for One and Shigaraki. He changed it and decided to implement his old idea into this movie so we will see something completely different in the proper story.

Almost every big moment in this movie left me speechless, But I did wish that the story also connected a bit more.

Both Bakūgō and Dekū had cuts on their fingers and that’s how Dekū’s DNA got to Bakūgō.

He transfered one for all by his blood being passed from deku to a open wound bakugo has in his hand so they show the ingestion given by blood through blood instead of hair. I'm sure someone already explained this already but wanted to put it out incase.

The trith no one knew at that time is One for all has pieces of 8 sentient beings within it and looking at Bakugo and Deku those fragments CHOSE Deku because of the pure desire to save even villians from themselves.

At one point, Horikoshi planned to end the series with Izuku giving One For All to Bakugo like that.

Fun fact tho: Horikoshi said this was supposed to happen towards the end of the entire MHA story, originally, so Bakugo was really supposed to get it permanently

Waiting for 3rd movie reaction, my first impression to the 3rd movie's poster just 7/10 not interesting but trust me after watch it, it beyond expectation 9/10. In 3rd movie Deku really show his kindness and united mash really blow my mind.

Just some notes from an MHA nerd 1. When Deku transferred OFA to Bakugo, Bakugo has a cut on his finger so when Deku reached out to him with his finger, that has his blood, it transferred to Bakugo since Deku's blood has his DNA. 2. Chimera isn't "pure evil". He just feels indebted to Nine for saving his life. I'm guessing the same falls for the other 2. 3. Being the number 1 hero isn't just Bakugo's goal, it's both of theirs. 4. Chimera is strong because he's a combination of animals.

This movie is not canon, people try to pass it off as such, but in the end this movie is a non canon movie that they created to make a spinoff of what the original ending of the manga was going to be. It was going to originally end with Deku transferring his power to Bakugo, but of course as the manga is still on going that is not the case.

I think the dub explained them passing it a bit better. I think the dub of My Hero in general is just better in terms of explaining things, personality, soul, and enjoyment.

Tbh when I watched the movie in theaters, I thought it was gonna be a thing where Bakugou hands a hair to Deku and says "It`s your quirk." With his head turned away, Midoriya of course going, "W-wait a minute- but I gave it to you". Bakugou thrusts it forward with a glare at him, "Take it or leave it, nerd, I'm not telling you again." Amd then Midoriya takes it and thanks him. (That is if a One for All user can have it transferred to them a second time). Cuz like? It would make sense? And it would also really show Bakugou`s character development there too? 🤔
