Okay I don’t know why you say 5 minutes, it takes that long to chop the onion and brown the meat! It does look very good! Almost like a lasagna. I may have to try it as we love lasagna.
It seems to be a trend with cooking videos these days, lie in the title to get people to click on it. Click bait, pure and simple. I'm going to stop clicking!!!!!
Casseroles are one of my favorite meals, and this one already has my mouth. WATERING! Thanks so much! I can hardly wait to have a nice big piece of that on my plate!!!
OMG, Macaroni and cheese lasagna! I am going to make this for Easter! Thank you for sharing this! I may divide this into two different baking dishes, it’s only me and my husband, I’ll assemble and freeze one for later!
I am going to try it with a twist. Instead of the sloppy joe hamburger and tomato sauce shown, I will fill in the layers with my home made chili! Sooner or later I am sure I will try this one exactly, but now I am in the mood for Chili Mac!
This looks absolutely amazing. I'll be making this. It's almost like spaghetti with a cheese rue. My mom used elbow macaroni for making spaghetti years ago.
This is wonderful and similar to one I make but this looks way better. 😂. I'm going to make yours and also I have to make one for two sets of neighbors who need food right now as one family has a new baby and the other lady has undergone ankle surgery. WOW. This will be great for everyone.. ❤️😊
Wanna make 3 and send one to Texas? Lol😊 All jokes aside, I just wanted to applaud you on your kind soul for looking after your neighbors. Not many would be that caring. Good to know there is still neighborly love around! ❤
Just because it's layered, doesn't make it "like lasagna". It's macaroni mixed with a bechamel sauce and layered with a minced meat and tomato sauce mixture. It's like when people use all sorts of shaped pasta, mix it with minced meat, herbs and a tomato sauce mixture, and call it "spaghetti" bolognese. It's only spaghetti when proper spaghetti shaped pasta is used. If you use penne with that tomato, herb and meat mixture, then it's penne bolognese. If you use fusilli with that tomato, herb and meat mixture, then it's fusilli bolognese. Can't just throw in any shaped pasta and always call it spaghetti 😂
I think I did actually say "like". I did not say IS. I guess some people don't know how to read properly. Well, they can't spell like a mature adult, that's for sure. 😂😂
Wouldn't it have been easier to leave the white sauce in the pan, and add the shredded cheese to melt and combine? Then the pasta could have been added to the completed sauce. This would also be delicious if it was made with a taco meat mixture.
Yes it definitely would have been easier. Also use a larger pot instead of a small bowl to combine the cheese sauce and pasta. Cheddar cheese sauce and taco meat would be a fun combo. I would also add some bell pepper and brown it with the onion when preparing the meat mix, then throw some cilantro into it right at the end.
@@MsDera81 I guess it wouldn’t matter for this recipe but…. Have you ever had pasta that, the sauce doesn’t really grab hold of and stick to it? That’s because of putting oil or butter in the water.
I am making this tomorrow only using gluten free pasta instead. Can’t wait to try it, it made my mouth water just watching the video. Thank you for sharing.
When she made the flour mixture with butter thats a roux. You can add any cheese you want to make a sauce! Ive done Jack cheese to use for pasta. Its easier than making alfredo that takes sour cream. Learned this from 1940s cook book! I use 3 tbspn flour and 3 butter to start. Forgot how much milk but I microwave that to room temp. Tepid to mix easier. From those books I learned to keep basics on hand then when I find anything or given anything like extra apples or oranges etc. I can make anything. And I hate to cook! Im going to try this one. I love dinners you can make ahead then pop in oven. And leftovers.
Just like tick tock spagetti which I love and freeze into individual containers this I will try with the 2 different sauces n cheese the flavor combine will be delicious I'm sure
This is a slight twist on what I grew up on called Baked Chili Mac and yes it is good. You can eat more of this than you should. We also made this in a cast iron Dutch oven over coals when camping.
I also make a Chili Mac & Cheese but the recipe I use calls for Chili Seasoning so I don't see how you can call this a 'Chili' Mac & Cheese, unless you add the chili seasoning....just my two cents @trep53. However the recipe in this video does make my mouth water so I will be giving it a try. Oh, I love the fact that you make it over coals when camping...that's so cool!
I have just subscribed to your site. I love the dishes you create. I live in California. Only issue we don't use ml, grams and Celsius. I suppose I can always Google the measurements. The peaceful music made me fight to stay awake. Now off for my nap. A 74 year old grandma thanks you for these luscious recipes. You are AWESOME!
@@anitajinfla9762 Wow, thanks for your honesty. But, if you make it 3 times a week, you're going to have it for leftovers the rest of the week. I think you have so many good recipes under your sleeve you haven't yet unveiled!! You josh.
Your salt container brought me back to childhood when my mother decorated her kitchen with ducks just like that. Me and my brother made fun of her duck theme. But it was actually the style people used at the time. ❤
I love this five minute recipe which takes 8-10 minutes to do one step and 40 minutes to do another. One question though: how do I create the time vortex? Was that explained somewhere? Is there maybe a hidden frame in here with the schematics...
After I got over the word Mincemeat, this seems like a good recipe. In my part of the world, the term is Ground meat/beef; or "hamburger meat. There is a mincemeat pie made of something from a jar, labeled "mincemeat" I don't know what is is made of but I tasted it 40 years ago and still remember how awful it tasted!! ! ! Still turns my stomach.
Many countries call this mincemeat. Never known it as anything else. Sometimes just mince. The other stuff in pies is fruit mince and makes a sweet christmas pie.
So - it’s lasagne with pasta elbows rather than sheets of pasta ? I always make it with the cheese sauce too, although I’ve seen it made without it, I prefer the addition of the sauce. Either way, it looks yum and it’s made me hungry. ❤
