Hey will, off topic but how long do you think silicone bodies will last if they're taken care of in the AC out of the Sun? I'm just curious because I really do like the sculpt on that joker it really is the best looking Joker I've seen so far, I personally just don't like JND for other reasons but I'm a die-hard ledger fan in that single pack even though it's expensive it's kind of calling my name
I'd also suggest an IKEA Billy bookcase with the Hogbo doors and (optional) glass shelves. Some 12" LED light bars off Amazon per shelf and it turned out nice. I went this route and it's wide like a moducase, though only 11" of depth, but likely cheaper and I didn't have to wait 12+ months.
Really informative video. I've always believed getting good quality displays is an investment and it does surprise me that people often underinvest in their displays relative to what they're prepared to spend on their statues and figures. When I was deciding on my displays a few years ago I looked at Detolfs and although they're excellent value for money they're very limiting in terms of what you can actually put in them. Vehicles are pretty much out and so are larger figures without modding it. In the end I settled with mostly custom displays, I bought 5 Detolf-like steel and glass cabinets which have bigger dimensions and more heavy duty shelving, 1 large double door cabinet for vehicles and big displays, a showcase plinth for larger figures and displays and later a stack of 4 Moducases. I would have probably bought more Moducases had I known they existed before I started getting the custom displays made. It has cost quite a bit to get so many custom displays but I know it will future proof my display options for years to come. Like you say Will, buy nice or buy twice.
Great video Will! I have a small, curated collection so I’ve opted for ApexTime. Would definitely recommend to a collector who wants to really showcase their top few figures!
Well done bro. I tried the detolfs, moducases and even customized shelves. After a long time searching and researching I ended up with Husky garage shelves lol. But I am also adding front walnut wood framing so its a combo of purchased/ custom. Happy so far.
I use Uline Wire Shelving units: their cheap, sturdy, come in multiple sizes, and you can add shelves. On the other hand, they are open, and I have not figured out how to add lights. I am considering getting some moducases this year. I was just on their website, and it seems thye've added some additional sized units.
I had Detolfs for a long time but as my collection grew I knew I could keep adding cases. I ended up ordering Moduspace. I'll admit the wait time put me off, and they got delayed. However, the service was incredible. As previously mentioned I'm building a studio/man cave for my collection and music. I suspect I'll be adding more cases in the near future
@WillFoxification agreed dude! I went for the white ones, was very unsure when ordered but I'm so happy how they turned out. Considering getting into the statue game as well. It's a very slippery road. Anyway thanks for the great content. Definitely my go to for all information and reviews.
I spent a couple years on and off deciding what was my best display. In the end, it was always the same decision. Large glass display cabinets (also known as trophy cabinets). Looks the most premium, most clean, most clear (all to see) and my personal favourite. They're just very expensive. But after a long wait, I was lucky and picked up quite a few from a shop going out of business. For the cost of one, I got 5 (including delivery) Only now doing the man cave (finally, years in the making due to personal bits, family, moving etc) and only putting in the one shelf so far..... It's the best move I have made. Very happy with them. The morale of the story, if you want this option. Ebay and marketplace etc. Save listing and wait. Be ready to jump on them and they do come up quite a bit. I was just super picky, as I wanted a wide one with 50 cm depth at least.
I use Blaliden because the Detolf has been discontinued in my country. I like the Blaliden still, its small but looks modern and great for displaying one or two figures per shelf.
These two! www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07HRCDDL1/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002UD0GFE/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1
I use Billy bookcases because they are versatile and affordable to most 1/6 collectors out there, the only downside is the limited amount of width, depth and space on figures you can display on each shelves depending on the height.
I have a MILSBO but it’s currently broken, awaiting replacement parts lmao. For me, I will only ever have the small displayable space, and it’s like twice the real estate as 1 Detolf, so I thought it was the right move
@@WillFoxification the corner framing snapped off down at its connection point. (I broke it putting it together wrong lmao but still) just junk add material
@@WillFoxification may I ask what do you think about the MILSBO compared to blaliden? MILSBO cost almost three times compated to bladiden in my country. I have no experience and when I finally wanted to buy Detolf they were out of the market unfortunate.
Im looking into moducase, just trying to find the 2 that would fit or look the best. And for the i pounds per shelf 😂 im f cause i got 8 on one shelf 😂
@WillFoxification that's honestly what I was thinking and getting one of the ones that can hold the batman armory and whatnot. Would that work with the size that you mentioned? Like for the Batman Armory would that fit, it's been in the box from day one brand new all these years I've only taken Alfred and Bruce Wayne out
Excellent video on the subject, for my part I only use Ikea billy perfect for displaying 2/4 figurines and on 5 shelves if you optimize well. The only fault I find is that it has a well-suited showcase post.
