If one feels blocked on the left side on the follow through, just flare the left foot out as you did with the right. I flare both out & I've been hitting them straight too.
I really like Danny. I like the way he presents his tips. I am 67 and I have started to exercise and stretch more which has strengthened my back and hip. I need to implement this as my driving has gone downhill this year.
Danny is awesome! His videos are tremendous help! One thing, I am 60 years old and there was a video on 2nd swing golf that showed how to get more flexibility in your hips. I now do stretching for my lower back, my hip flexors and my hamstrings...what a difference that makes in helping with turn. Thanks again for these videos!
“I am an average golfer like you”. I wish that was true. I envy your swing a lot. Your swing looks simple with good ritme and as a result you’re able to reach the green, mostly, in regulation. Man I wish I could do that myself. I know your not a teaching pro like Danny but maybe you can make a video about your swing and explain to us what’s going on in your swing. How do you do it, swing thoughts etc. Thanks
A very class act on your part bud in giving some great RU-vid Golf content provider some recognition on your channel. All the RU-vidrs you have mentions so far, I follow. Great stuff...keep them coming!
I’ve been using this technique for several years. It definitely works for me especially after 5 back surgeries. Glad to see you put a video out about this technique to preserve power in the golf swing.
Yeah this is good stuff, the only thing better than a golf swing tip, is actually seeing it put into play/tried and the data that would or would not back it up. Good video.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU..It took two 9 hole rounds and a range session, but it kept getting better. Sunday I played in a tournament on my home course and hit every drive down the middle and 3 were longest ever on my course..I turn 70 in December and have been loosing distance and playing a fade for the last 3 years..Sunday I hit every drive straight or a slight draw..This is the greatest tip ever and pretty simple..My only wish is that it was May instead of October..Thanks again!
I have excellent flexibility for 45 years of age, but I naturally guard my lower back due to multiple back surgeries over 10 years ago. When I pull the trail foot back some, I feel much more freedom throughout the swing, which has improved my consistency significantly.
Great video and this really does work! I have tried this the last couple of rounds and I have been able to hit several over 265 yards for the first time ever. And they’ve been fairly straight too!
Good stuff Andy. At 56 and with tight hips from long distance trail running, I've been dropping the right foot back and flaring it out this year after seeing a Shawn Clement video with that set up, and 'throwing' the club out to right field. I like the draw it produces.
Great tip for seniors. Lifting my left heel ( for right hander ) on the backswing then planting it down again at the transition to the downswing certainly helps me get a fuller shoulder turn = better, straighter strikes. Keep the vids coming Andy some great stuff coming out 👍
Andy thanks for your video. Danny does give great tips and keeps it simple I my opinion. Have adopted and and adapted a couple of these points and feel like swing is more solid. Keep up the good content Andy.
This is the only way I can hit a decent driver. My problem is vanity. It’s not the set up I see on tv so I keep working back to a normal set up and the quick duck hooks come right back. I have to start reminding myself of the decent drives I’ve hit this way and quit trying to be someone I’m not. Thanks for the video it was good to see someone else doing this.
At 56, I still toy with my swing looking for more consistency. I watch Danny Maude's vids, but didn't see this one. From playing other sports, I have an idea of how feet position can change the way the body moves. In short, I have tried flaring my right foot out to promote more shoulder turn. After watching videos of my swing, I realized that is not the issue for me :-). I also tried turning my head to the right so my shoulder doesn't bump into my chin (Plus Jack Nicklaus does this and Jack can't be wrong! :-). Ultimately, I kept the head turn, but went back to normal foot alignment.
@@TheAverageGolfer it's not as consistent using it with the irons playing off the fairway as in other videos you can get flyers and inconsistent length of shots compared to normal swings
Great vid,, to help get through,, simply let left heel lift up on back swing, takes a few goes to get the feeling,,, but gains are worth it,, cheers Alan 👍
Got into Danny over time I used to think he was just taking other peoples material...then I realized there is nothing new and all this stuff has been done before...I think the real deal instructors with different ideas are Marcus Bell....and for senior golfers or golfers with injuries Brian Sparks easiest swing....these guys were doing things differently long before the rest... I have played with the easiest swing method...and it works...but I think these kind of swings help you keep playing ok...but I'm not sure it's a way forward....I've gone full circle now I'm not injured I'm back to trying to use ground forces to swing better....as I think I'm young enough to still get better
I am 74 and still play off single figures and I use these tips all the time..It is the only way I can keep up with the kids ..Another tip is to lift the heel of the front foot on the backswing ...
No disrespect to Mr Maud but Jack Nicklaus did this for most of his later career, so it's far from new. I would also advocate that senior Golfers allow their lead heel to lift in the backswing, this enables them to get a deeper hip turn which will result in more clubhead speed.
No disrespect but ignore Danny Maude. Search Katherine Roberts - yoga for golfers. If you can only get your club shaft 90 degrees to the horizontal in the backswing you’ve got physical issues way beyond your age.
