I agree drugstore hair care doesn’t get enough credit it’s all I used my whole life and now that I grew out my hair after my big chop it just leaves my hair so healthy and I buy products that r not even known big brand names. And my hair thrives
If it works for you it works for you! Everyone’s body is different. Tresseme dries the hell out of my scalp (the hairspray is good though minus the smell). if I don’t use Selsun blue on my scalp I’ll have flakes the size of my dog falling off my head. Don’t let people shame you for ANY product you use whether it’s drugstore or lux
Tresseme makes my hair so soft and smooth which goes to show that 1 thing won’t work for everyone ❤❤❤ Thnx I have never had more than 1 like in a comment before ❤️
Same. My scale gets a lot of buildup because I have SD so I alternate regular shampoos with medicated ones. They're not great for length, but my scalp feels much better.
Same, I cannot use hardly any drug store shampoo and conditioner. Except L’Oreal sulfate free products. I have tried nearly everyone of them and 99% dry my scalp, create build up, makes me itch uncontrollably.
Yup, this truly works. I've been using the serum of reactivate by liittllexttra, and it's effective. My hair has started to grow, especially in areas where I've had persistent issues. Along with aloe vera and amla, the serum is the new addition to my hair routine that has at last shown results after years of trying different oils. Additionally, at the end of the week, instead of throwing out the tea leaves, I use them as a hair rinse during my weekly wash routine.
just three things helped me control hair fall and improve hair growth: coocoonion hair oil + coocoonion shampoo + reactivatee hair serum. perfect combo. won't stop using them anytime soon
I’ve literally always gone between tresemme, pantene, herbal essences, garnier, suave, or dove and I get so many compliments on my hair. It’s healthy, shiny, and soft and even when I get it cut the stylist always compliments me on it! I’ve never used anything other than drugstore and I’ll never stop even if I could afford high end.
I love the Tressemme heat protectant. I see a difference in my hair when I use it. It leaves it shinier. I also love the Eva NYC hair mask. When I use coconut oil before washing my hair and the Eva NYC hair mask at the end of my washing routine, my hair feels so soft. It’s a great combination. I’ve used other hair masks with coconut oil but it’s not the same. Great products
I love the L'oreal Pure Gloss line in the purple bottle... it has citric acid to balance ph as well. I use a clarifyinf shampoo first then a sulohate free for second wash, hair mask (currently Amika) and then the L'Oreal gloss conditioner. If I really need it, I will use a meiller water like the L'oreal 8 Second Wonder Water. Edit: Ive also been using the L'oreal Total Repair 5 leave in conditioner spray for like 6+ years.
I used to until everyone in my house started balding . I looked it up and seen a lot of people said the same thing so we stopped using it and now we don't lose hair more than normal and our hair is almost all the way back to what it was. It's been a year !!!! I absolutely love the Eva NYC ,L'Oreal ever pure, and the cue 100 I believe it's from Amazon and Abby recommended me it and the L'Oreal .
I like their conditioners and mousse but I once used their volume shampoo and it made my hair fall out way more than usual, I used it to wash my makeup brushes after that
Spent a lot of money on high end shampoos/conditioners and curl products. Tried out Monday shampoo/conditioner because I was frustrated with the previous ones I'd used and picked up Tresemme curl products on a whim. Both were so amazing.
Whenever my mom and I would go to the salon when I was younger, the hairdressers would always ask what products we used, because our hair was so nice and healthy. They were always shocked when we would tell them "whatever is cheapest".
I personally don’t like tresemme bc no matter how much I was the shampoo and conditioner out , my hair always feel ‘heavy’ / still lots of conditioner in it ( not in a good way) but herbal essence had me in a chokehold 😍✨
I hate both brands. The shampoos are way too drying with the alcohol and sulfates. Their conditioners don’t hydrate enough. I love the smell of herbal essence though. My boyfriend uses it. Pantene has wax in it (we were told in cosmetology school) stay away from it. L’Oréal Ever Pure, Hask and RenPure are the only drugstore brands I will use (sulfate free). I still prefer professional brands though.
I have a super expensive (to me, it's $30 a bottle) conditioner that I use for special occasions, when I know I want to have a good hair day. It is truly better than anything else I have ever tried, and is worth the money. But for everyday, drugstore it is! I'm not made of money, and the cheap stuff gets the job done. Justice for drugstore!
Those are good picks! Also I've been thinking about this too and some people just have "better"hair than others 😂 just the tea! My hair likes certain drugstore ones but loves high ends ones mostly bc it's picky and and aging damaged beotch. But there IS something at WM , wherever , for EVERYONE believe me it is packed overwhelmingly so thank god there abbey
I know you don’t have fine thin hair but if you could find products for those of us that do and help with excess oil, frequent washing, hair fallout etc, that would be lovely. Love your content btw! You make some solid Recs that have helped me with my hair.
look into your hoormones and diabetes. i clarify with a sulfate once to twice a week and inbetween matrix vivid line. anytime you wash make sure you get a ton of soap foam or its not clean enough. look at blowdry pofesssional washing videos
When I was a kid I had down to my tailbone. Y’all, my granny would wash and condition my hair with Suave brand products lol. And then she would grease my scalp with blue magic. Life was so simple back then.
In my experience, many of the drug store shampoos and conditioners don't last as long 🤷♀️. I like the L'Oréal shampoos and conditioners but they don't save me any money.
I found I will get itchy scalp with high end and drug store. I use dermaveen majority of the time, but I still try other shampoos, but always go back to dermaveen.
i would love to see more reviews on the fairly commonly available international cheaper brands like ogx, schwarzkopf, sheamoisture, loreal, pantene, herbal essences, garnier, klorane etc. because i have gone so long actively avoiding them thinking they’d ruin my hair but would like to know what’s actually good or how to tell whats good. it would be worth saving some money. these days im using redken, morocconoil & olaplex etc. so if i can find some good alternatives its a big saving.
Pantene will leave a layer of residue on your scalp if you aren’t careful. I love Suave which is super cheap, but I only use their clarifying shampoo and their body wash. I use dove on my kids which isn’t bad either, or I at least don’t think so. Herbal Essence gave me a really bad rash and left me with eczema on my neck that won’t go away the last time I tried it…so I just stay away from their products now. I had no idea Schwarzkopf made hair care products! I love their hair dye!
I have used most drugstore brands with no issues but everyone is different, and if you notice an allergic reaction or an adverse reaction of some kind stop right away and see a Dr if necessary. Please don't keep using a product you are having a reaction to. Switch up products as necessary. I'm always trying new things and I'm not faithful to any brand.
Finally someone using head&shoulders i started using dermaxpro repairing shampoo and moisturising conditioner as of late and my hair looks amazing, soft and healty. I am using it although i don't have dandruff so may be i will switch to a different one because why use anti-dandruff shampoo when not suffering from dandruff right. I worry that it dries my hair in the long run because of the extra ingredients it has to fight dandruff. But i love it so much rn i kinda wish h&s starts making shampoos that is not for dandruff. I would purchase them immediately.
Garnier whole blends oat delicacy shampoo and ginger recovery conditioner are good. I have used Garnier fructose sleek and shine leave in conditioner for years when I do twists and braids. Also their honey treasures miracle nectar little pump bottle is a great detangler it’s just not very moisturizing. Oh and Pantene co wash I’ve used for years too, great for color treated hair.
Omg I remember when that heat protector was the OG at the drugstore! I bought it for years and have a more expensive one now.. I’ll get the Tres. one next ❤❤❤ thank you for reigniting my interest!!
I use redken now,i used to use many drugstore shampoo and conditioner, but my hair is so much better with redken. I got a set with shampoo, conditioner and leave in conditioner for Christmas, the shampoo and conditioner is still half full, leave in is almost finished tho. Syoss heat protection spray is amazing and Garnier Fructis Nourishing Banana Hair Food 3-in-1 hair mask is my TOP for years.
I use pantene shampoo and conditioner and a bit more expensive leave-in and styling. But literally nothing better than pantene conditioner for my long hair
As a cosmetologist I always said , if it works for you- it works. Just because it has an expensive price tag, it doesn’t mean it’s better. Personally, I use Hask from WM/Drug stores because I’m not allergic to it and cheap Suave clarifying shampoo because….it works!
I've used tresemme for almost 20yrs- theirs was the only one that worked on my daughter's curly hair--i even used redkin- and they all failed- except tresemme❤❤❤❤
Every silicone free drugstore conditioner/shampoo I’ve tried made me lose so much hair and just dulled it completely. The one I use now is for curly hair. All of the products are £4.50 including the masque and cream.
Used drugstore for years, switched to professional quality. Recently tried to go back to drugs store and i felt a huge difference. Went back to salon quality.
I have used drugstore for years (wasting my money on things that never work) recently found the blowout professor on youtube decided to try his recommendations because for me, his recommendations are incredibly cut and dry. Picked up the professional shampoo and conditioner he recommended and my hair is 100% better from where it was and it stays cleaner longer and smells amazing!
3rd world countries like mine have much worse and cheaper haircare, so before the online hair community started popping on my feed, I (and most people here) understood pantene, garnier, tresemmé and L'Óreal as luxury. I grew up well-off so I always used these brands and always had long, healthy hair: it baffled me to see hairstylists saying these products were damaging and nasty, but I trusted my lived experience and now the social media side has come to the bright side!
I do love drugstore haircare. Loreal is one of my favourite drugstore brands for me. However, I haven't used tresemme for years as it made my hair really fly away and frizzy. It just doesn't suit my hair, but it doesn't mean that it won't work for everyone. You just have to find something that works for you 😊
You honestly never miss a beat just tried the pantene leave in for my fine hair and i have to say it slays my its a 10 leave in , i found it was light weight but not light enough for my fine hair and this Pantene leave in is amazing . You got me using pantene volume shampoo , loreal everpure conditioner and now pantene leave in ! Keep the recommendations coming girl . Still cant give up my kerastase oleo relax oil because i have never used anything as light weight and fantastic in the oil realm the ogx is too heavy for me but im thrilled about everything else
Treseme is curly girl friendly 🥹 L'Oreal damaged the hell out of my hair... I have 3a-b curls, on the thin side but a lot of it. It has the potential to feel like silk, but after a clarifying shampoo and no conditioner. It feels like hay.. extremely strong i just like a sleeker finish. Silicone does wonders for me, my hair isnt damaged on clarifying days(for anyone with the similar tsxture). I havent tried the kristin or eva nyc. Pantene just does nothing for me. I wash my hair twice a week at most so i get natural oils often and it only feels like hay the first 2 days 😂 after that it's normal but we all gotta get up that build up! (Also hay as in thickness, not damage if that makes any sense)
See, I used treseme for years, and my hair was so damaged. I know everyone’s hair is different, but until I cut out all sulfates, silicones, and parabens did my hair health improve drastically. I’ve never used a lot of heat on my hair, or brushed it excessively either, it’s just my hair did not do well with conventional hair products. If it works for other people though, I think that’s great. Everyone has to use what works for them.
SUPER fine, thin hair (never was that thick, but menopause/age has made my hair incredibly thin), and a nose that can’t handle scents…please help me!! Suave clarifying shampoo has worked wonders for cleaning my hair…and my niece who is super sweaty/oily at 14. Her hair is also fine and thinner. This shampoos is perfect for her. Everpure was too scented. But NYC deep conditioner works great and the scent doesn’t bother me…and it doesn’t make my hair oily.
Mine is so easy and hair is just fine. Head n shoulders apple cider vin clairifier with 3 min miracle from Aussie. When I get out use ogx coconut milk serum and the Moroccan oil spray. Ive never been high end and my facewash is St. Ives watermelon face gel. My skin is not babied and get compliments all the time! 😊
This is a weird comment, but it would be awesome if the image was flipped so we could read the packaging more easily. So many RU-vidrs will do these really quick shorts and they're talking so fast you can't necessarily always catch what they're using, and then if the picture is flipped, it's really hard to read labels backwards. So often I'm really interested in a product and I seriously have to watch the video three times to figure out what it is. Or is it just me?
I think it’s done on purpose to get more views. Just like all these videos that are showing some type of before and after, and the after part is so fast you have to rewatch it to see anything.
@@folksagabookart You have a great point. It's irritating when you have to watch something over and over again just because it was presented so quickly the first time. Feels like a cheap gimmick if it's intentional. You wouldn't talk to people in real life that way.
I can completely understand feelin as if it’s rushed, the thing I’ll say as devils advocate is that there is lots of info she is trying to provide so a simple screenshot if you’re quick enough
Don’t give them what they want. Don’t watch it again, “Like” or comment. Like the other person said, they do it on purpose for more views etc. They’re not here to really help people. It’s all about money.
I have used drugstore products my whole life and I still use them because I am on a strict budget and I still have great hair. Everyone's hair needs and experiences are different. If you notice you are experiencing an allergic reaction to a product or another adverse reaction stop right away, see a Dr if necessary. Don't keep using products that you are reacting to. Try new products. I'm not faithful to any brand and I love trying new things.
The maui moisture shea butter line is my favorite from the drugstore. Perfect for people like me who have a very oily scalp that need to wash their hair often but also have dry ends. I also love the tresemme keratin smooth line
Can you talk more about the other shampoos/conditioners in the Ever Pure line? I don't think my hair is damaged so I'm not sure if the bond strengthening ones are best for me.
Girl my mom made me stop using it thinking it would cause cancer 🤦🏽♀️I’m literally not kidding! So then I was using a coconut one it was ok umm it’s the shea moisture one you can get at Walmart, Costco. Now I use the herbal essence tea tree oh my gosh it smells so amazing and fresh I got the bigger bottle from Fred myers
I used Tresomé for a few years, then suddenly it started reacting to my skin, red, itchy, peeling off, split skin behind my ears...the lot!!! I stopped using it for many years, tried it again recently and winthin 3 washes, I was scratching and peeling!!!! Panteen is great, L'Oréal is wonderful, even palmolive isnt too bad...
@@palestar828 nah I said what I said, your fault if you don't understand what it is due to a simple lack of space between two words lmao but whatever makes your ego feel better I guess
I have an honest question. Now don't take this the wrong way because I love your channel and all the tips and tricks you share. Not to mention the education behind it all... But I'm curious, do you get paid to talk about or promote ANY of these brands?
I used to get function of beauty but for me I figured out that the quality of water I wash my hair in was more important than the products I use. Now I use a shower head filter and drugstore products and my hair has never been lovelier!
I do like drugstore but I think it’s very hit and miss, especially for someone with very fine hair I find a lot of it too heavy for my hair but there are definitely some gems I remember my absolute favourite product was the Schwarzkopf omega repair 10-in-1 they discontinued the product when they basically merged their brand with got to be, and honestly if they sold that for the price of olaplex or the other highend stuff I still would’ve bought it…to this day nothing compares to that stuff at the drugstore or in high end
Really depends on your hair and scalp needs- if you happen to buy the right thing for your specific hair and skin and the drugstore then that's fantastic. The nice thing about professional products is they are often recommended to you by the person who understands your specific hair and skin type/problem areas. But even professional products can take a bit of trial and error to figure out the right fit for you. As someone who has used both, I'd say drugstore can absolutely get the job done but sometimes lead to more problems long term, and with pro you just gotta make sure you're doing a consultation and getting a recommendation for whats right for you (ideally by a stylist who's worked with your hair before, and not the retail staff).
I had great results from tresemme fr, it was a fav of mine for ages. The suave pro stuff is great too. I have super long, coarse, wavy, dry hair. My current HG is the loreal dream lengths line, genuinely changed my hair lol. I use it with their wonder water. I rotate it through with the fiber deep conditioner from that line for protein or the sauce deep moisture mask from sallys. My hair has genuinely never been nicer and I've tried a ton of stuff from natural lines to high end. I also use amla oil as a preshampoo treatment. Camille rose also has great products, i use their rosemary water and their honey mousse. I also sometimes clarify with the neutrogena healthy scalp clarifying shampoo. The mis en scene is a korean hair serum that i get from amazon that is a DREAM, and eva nyc has some dope stuff too!! Love the satin dream leave-in and the primer. Tldr: my hair is naturally a mess but i use drugstore stuff and my hair is a dream rn
js saying the loreal ever pure is good but it damages ur natural curls and makes it so they dont form as good but it'll work good if u have straight hair
The garnier zero silicone hydra boost conditioner is the best conditioner I’ve ever used on my hair! I know silicones aren’t always bad but they suck for my hair. Treseme and pantene made my hair awful 😢
I've used Tresemme for years and my hair is super healthy (not just my opinion, but my hair stylist's as well). I do use a more expensive clarifying shampoo every few weeks though. L'Oréal Dream Lengths heat protectant has also been a game changer in keeping my wavy/curly hair straight for days.
Have always loved the Tresseme styling products, especially the one you mentioned. How often do you use that L’Oreal bonding set?? I have it and when I use it I can’t get my curls (flat iron) to stay. Curls fall out after a few hours. I need a way to make the curl last while using it.
So true my hair has always responded great to drugstore hair products even some of the products from Sally beauty like Ion and Beyond the Zone is the closest I’ll get to buying salon quality I just can’t bring myself to buy $30 hair products 🤷♀️
