Located in Budapest's Chinatown, DaBao is primarily a takeout restaurant (both cooked and frozen), but has seating for seated diners. In the Chinese community of Budapest, almost everyone agrees that Dabao Jiaozi is the place to go for great homemade dumplings in Budapest. Dabao also serves solid noodle soups. Dabao makes Shandong style dumplings. There are two options available with ground pork and shrimp filling, one with Napa cabbage filling and the other with shredded Chinese onion. There is little difference in taste and they are both very good.
While waiting for your order, take a look into the kitchen, where you'll see a cheerful group of Chinese women hunched over piles of dough, rolling, stuffing and folding it with incredible efficiency. A serving consists of fifteen pieces, which easily satisfies the average appetite and costs about 10 euros.
