Greetings and welcome to the bottom of the description. I'm Alax, more legally known as Alex Carducci. I make design analysis videos on fictional stuff I really like. Most of this time this centralizes on video games I love like Super Smash Bros., Super Mario, Persona, or Sonic the Hedgehog. I studied design and communications, so I find it fascinating how technology and culture shapes the media in our lives and how we perceive it. My channel aims to look into the history and development of these topics in depth so we can all find the truth as to why things are made the way they are. Also, there's a talking cat.

I miss when DVD and Blu-ray menus had personality. You sometimes get that nowadays (Shout Factory and Disney come to mind), but it's a rarity.

I grew up with the "Shrek: the whole story collection" box set. Which, unfortunately, doesn't have the original DVD menus. They had their own unique menu, which aren't as interesting and elaborate as the ones that were on the individual DVD cases. Wish I grew up with this menu, it seems like a sight to behold.

In the UK, Shrek 2 got a 2 Disc special edition DVD and I imported it because I love this DVD so much. I did walkthroughs of both discs on my second channel.

I dont know why, but as a child these things sometimes scared the hell out of me. Whenever there were interactive menus with the characters acknowledging you, or animation bloopers I would just get really creeped out. Although now, I love this stuff, shows care put into the medium.

I will never forget the time that I was at a sleepover at my friends house back in high school and we decided to watch Shrek 2. Everyone was asleep by time the movie was over and I just laid awake as the menu kept looping forever, not knowing if i should get up and turn it off or just pretend to be asleep

Best video on the internet to date!! Whenever I got sick as a kid, I’d just go around the menu of this DVD for 10-15 minutes before even watching the movie because it was that good! Plus, Far Far Away Idol is the only place I’ve ever heard Simon Cowell, aka the famous grumpy singing talent show judge, sing... and I still think about that. And I will confirm as a music Uni student, this is the best version of I Need A Hero you will ever hear like not even the original comes close to this magnificent arrangement.
