Technology meets engineering, the Zapp i300 at 203 pounds, the urban-aimed has a 37-mile range in the five-horsepower Eco mode. And its electric performance is meant to be equivalent to a 300cc internal combustion-engined scooter.
The i300 is unique electric scooter, this bike features a 14kW internal permanent magnet electric motor and a features an exoskeleton frame design with alloy and chromoly steel, two swappable battery packs, an inverted fork, a radially mounted four-piston front brake caliper with a steel-braided line, front-wheel ABS, preload-adjustable progressive spring-rate shock, single-sided swingarm, Michelin tires, and a TFT display.
The i300 can do 0-31 mph in just 2.3 seconds and 0-62 mph in just 4.9 seconds. The electric motor is able to put out 433 lb-ft of torque, according to the company. It will compete with 300cc size scooters.
The range at 60 km or about 37 miles. The removable batteries can be charged to 100 percent capacity in under four hours and the batteries charge to 80 percent in less time.
Personalization options abound using a 3D configurator. The front fender, seat, and storage box can all be swapped to suit your needs or mood.
The i300 is currently only for sale in Europe, directly through Zapp’s website, at a cost of €6,300 (US $6,941). It comes in six paint schemes, two of which (Guards Red and Old English White) incur no additional charge. Piano Black, Battleship Grey, and Powder Blue will run you an additional €300 (US $330.51), while a Union Jack paint scheme costs an additional €720 (US $793).
