Lots of Me... Lots of Me... (RU-vid gave me SO MUCH TROUBLE getting this video up, so if anything with the script seems a little wonky, that's why.) Sunnyland Productions Discord: / discord
What I love about this episode is that it's played surprisingly straight. It starts off as a typical Phineas and Ferb satire, with Doofenshmirtz doing a musical number about the situation, the Doof zombies breaking character for lolz ("I used to be Carl", "Less of me"), random cameos from other zombie movies, and Doof just acting mildly annoyed by the situation. But the more the episode progresses, the more you realize we're essentially watching our favorite characters get picked off one by one, and the genuine reactions they all have to seeing their friends and loved ones get assimulated all feel genuine and real. It gets to a point where you forget everyone's turning into Doofenshmirtz clones, and see this as a real zombie movie, just with Phineas and Ferb characters. And seeing them work together thru the situation reminds you how close these characters are and all their relationships get a chance to shine. Perry's relationship with the boys. Phineas' relationship with Candace and Ferb, Buford's relationship with Baljeet, Doofenshmirtz' relationship with Perry and Vanessa, Candace's relationship with Vanessa, Isabella's relationship with her troop, and of course, Phineas' relationship with Isabella.
It's okay, I understand. I saw this episode not too long ago. Like a year or two, and I thought it was somethin' I couldn't handle because I personally don't like watching stuff that involves an apocalypse happening. It makes me frightened of the idea of seeing innocent people and the people I love being turned into monster-like creatures. So, I completely understand where you're comin' from
@@marileeromero8281 of course. I don't like the idea of an apocalypse happening and seeing my friends and loved ones being turned into monster like creatures. My mind is sensitive to that type of stuff, so that's why I try to stay away from stuff like that to prevent my mind from getting anxious about the thought of that topic
This episode is easily a top ten episode of the show- very likely my favorite of the Halloween centric episodes and even up there for zombie apocalypse stories. It uses all the characters well, has all the hallmarks of a classic Phineas and Ferb episode in some good songs and jokes and ultimately heart, and also just uses the setting for a lot of fun references and a fun take on the zombie outbreak story. While I think it has some steep competition for best episode overall from the obvious suspects of Summer Belongs To You and Last Day of Summer, it’s still a super strong episode and I’d not hesitate to put it in the top 10. Also, man, that ad break was a really good gag. Absolutely got me good with that one.
Something I'd like to see, even tho I don't believe they would do, is that in the new seasons they're making they would address Isabella's feelings and maybe even Phineas'. But let's face it, Dan loves his little romantic moments where the characters don't get together but do get a little closer.
Great vid! ^v^ Really well researched, and it made me wanna check this ep out for myself. Speaking of 'Summer Belongs to You' though, I actually rewatched that special recently with my roommate who had never seen it. It was still a good time but... oof, the bits in the Himalayas and especially in Japan did not exactly age well (with my roommate even saying that the Japan bit in particular sorta put a bad taste in her mouth for the rest of the special). Honestly, I feel like that could be an interesting video topic - how, for as much as PnF tried to be diverse, there were times where they sort of leaned on stereotypes or surface level rep that now feels a bit shallow compared to what we see now in TGaMM, Moon Girl, Amphibia and (on the CN side of things) Craig of the Creek. With these shows in mind, I'd love to see an ep exploring Baljeet and how he connects to his heritage written or boarded by an Indian-American crew member, going beyond just the math jokes and the Bollywood references.
A rather ambitious idea I have is to do Summer Belongs to You as a Theme Park Backlot episode (filmed mostly at Epcot and Animal Kingdom, of course) and all of that is definitely stuff I would want to address in the video. There’s a lot of things that they’d absolutely do differently now since there’s been much more of an effort put into representation recently.
I'm gonna be the first one to say it, hear me out. Phineas and Ferb: Night of the Living Pharmacists and Thomas & Friends: Tale of the Brave are both pretty similar. They both came out in 2014 and both are about the best friend of the main character become brave. Isabella was brave enough to tell Phineas that she has a crush on him while saving Danville from a pharmacist zombie apocalypse, and Percy was brave enough to discover the monster at the Clay Pits while saving James from a landslide.
