I have ordered 3 slide stops from your store Lenny! One for the G19 and 2 for my 43x’s. Love all of them, just adds the extra level of manipulation and comfort. P.s. you are the Glock master instructor. You give us all the confidence to tackle these jobs on our own, thank you.
I still love the factory extended slide stop. We miss you back home Lenny!! Hope to catch up and chat sometime again when you're back in town. Take care in Nashville.
@@2ndchance632 you have to preorder to try and beat the rush. People are still buying parts and firearms at record numbers, and the current president's gun grabbing attempts have just fueled that even more. I say with all hope and help, PREORDER.
I put an extended slide stop on my glocks. Did you know the gen 4 type will drop right into a gen 5? Nothing to change. Just remove the ambidextrous slide stop and put in the old style. Works perfect 😊
I use the extended stops from Ghost. They have a nice big bullet style nub. extended Slides are a must. the Stock ones are a joke. I think its important to note to feed the trigger pin in from the Starboard side. I dont know why but its more successful. Pins still can walk so I check mine regularly. The Kagworks are popular but butt ugly.
Very informative video tutorial. I put on 3 of 4 extended slide stops just letting the video run its course. Between those and putting my last extend mag release on my OD 26 I feel my day has been completed most satisfactory. 😊 Fiber optic/tritium night sights, lights, SS match barrels, tungsten guide rod, both extended mag releases and slide stops. Good. To. Go. ❤. Thank you Lenny and GS for sharing your wisdom and knowledge.
Yeah I'm with you i don't need that kagworks extended slide release and never have any issues but the factory extended slide release is a must and it just makes it so much easier!
I just completed this upgrade for my new Gen 3 G19. The gun was so stiff it hurt my thumb to release the slide. I also upgraded the mag release to the extended one. That solve the other problem I had with the gun. Very easy to install both. I oiled the gun while I had it apart and it all works much better. I am now happy with my new G19.
I put the extended slide stop on all my Glocks they were a great addition. They make it so easy to manipulate the slide. I also put the extended slide lock on all my Glocks. They make take down so much easier. I highly recommend both of these parts. Thanks Lenny & GS.
@Ray Denno I totally agree with you. The pin is some what difficult to put back in, it helps to wiggle it slightly while lifting the slide release a little. It makes manipulation of the pistol much easier. Night sights are a must too. Thanks
Thank you, I purchased the Kagwerks extended slide release. Easier for me being left-handed. Had to pull the spring a little to increase spring pressure.
I add the top rated, practical Tango Down slide stop R&Ded by Army SF veteran: Larry Vickers. The slide stop works good on most of my Glock pistols. Gen 4 & Gen 5. I'm left handed so most of my Glocks are now gen 5 versions.
In all my law enforcement firearms training, we are trained not to use the slide stop to drop the slide to load the firearm. Glock model 21 is the one we carry. The slide stop is more so there to manually lock the slide back with no magazine. As for our reloading, reach over top of slide and quickly work the action even if the slide is already back. Just my two cents. Best advice is to train and practice as you’re going to be doing on duty or EDC. Have a Blessed Day
Yeah, I don't use the slide stop as a slide release either. I don't think it's "wrong" to use it that way(in fact it's certainly faster, assuming everything goes right), but to me it's just simpler, less complicated, less to think about, etc.
Back in the day it was taught to just use the slide stop. For those that have been around in law enforcement a little longer, or for those who were trained in the military years ago, using the slide stop became natural habit and stayed with them. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. I don't see anything wrong with teaching new people the slide rack method, but for old dogs, learning new tricks tends to become more of a problem than it's worth.
im not alone here in thinking everything i see here is bullshit made up crap. why even bother putting in yer .002. no one believes anything you say on here bros. its worrying that anyone consults randos on yt for tactical advice. stop contributing to it.
I'd only use it for a reload as a concealed carrier if I for whatever reason no longer had use of my left hand and needed to try a reload or to deal with a malfunction.
I actually prefer the stock slide stops. I have a high grip with my support hand so my grip actuates the extended controls and I'll have the slide lock back unintentionally. I do like the extended mag release and slide lock.
Agree💯. I learned that the hard way & after shooting thousands of rounds for years I hate extended controls & my Glock 45 stock slide stop engages sometimes with my high grip so I must stick my thumb up to avoid locking back during shooting.
I like the kagworks because I have big hands and I like the high hold on the gun I flip the slide stop up even the stock one I also polished the back or inside of the slide stop to help keep from scratching the slide
I used a extended slide lock and I experienced more mail functions with stove top, jams. I put the factory one back in and all was solved. It seemed my support hand was hitting that slide lock causing my issues. Sucks because I liked the extended stop over the factory.
2 big considerations for those considering purchasing this. 1 the best way to be used is drememling off the old slide stop shelf polymer so I'd doesn't impeded. 2nd it can definetely scratch the hell out of your slide ,creating an unsightly scratch h about 2in long.
My biggest issue with my G19 is in fact the placement of the slide stop. I have big hands, and have to constantly be aware of my grip because I at some point will unintentionally thumb the slide stop and it doesn't lock back on the last round. In fact I've been thinking about milling the external slide stop off. Maybe this will be a good mod.
@secritsquirrel4994 … if you haven’t bought one try the Kagwerks Extended & Raised Slide Release for Glock … it is raised so it up and out of the way. I just bought it, used this video for install and put about 500 rounds through w/no issues. I bought direct from kagwerks
Your store installed one of these on my Gen4 G41. Quit locking the slide back after 50 or so rounds. It’s a safe gun so I wasn’t aware of the problem in a timely manner. Your counter man said it’s a known defect and they just don’t work in the large frame blocks. Wouldn’t do anything about it.
I wish glock would go back and do all models like my gen 1 22 far as slide removal. All I had to do is drop mag pull slide back while holding slide pull and hold trigger and slide the slide off.
Greetings from Venezuela, thanks for keeping us up to date, I want to ask the following, is it true about the sale of a device that converts glocks to fire in burst mode (machine gun). A hug for you and Family, that you continue splendidly well.
i wanted the extended slide stop but it not gonna match the precision slide lock cause it comes in stainless steel. & the slide lock lever comes in chrome so i don’t think it would look right on my 26
But do you have stock on it? I have been trying to get a extended mag release but it is never in stock. Well I think it's in stock if you want a pink one
which version we choose to get the one for glock 17 gen 3???? for this one METALLIC PIN & EXTENDED CONTROLS KIT FOR GLOCKS because there 10mm and a 9mm but the one for 9mm is for 40S&W/.357SIG????
I notice that my trigger hand thumb rests on it so I want an extended one to give my thumb a bit more of a shelf. Seems to be hard to find info. Since I never rack with it.
Just got one 2 weeks ago. I had a slide jam due to a slide stop? Do not know what tf happened but i know it won’t happen again because I said “ ill just buy the most ridiculously expensive one I can find”! Done
Why would you make new slide stop smothe? Should have ridges like the factory one just of matter how you machine it think ridges help keep your finger from sliding off better grip
Glock store doesn't have shit!! They are out of everything for the longest time. Glock store sucks. SHOOT HK instead. The vp9 is king and HK parts has everything for all HK guns
I like the idea of the extended slide stop, I have one issue, I ordered one for my 43x and it had very thin material where the hole is drilled through for the roll pin, Mine broke. I have about a thousand rounds through it with the slide stop in it. Has anyone else had issues with them
I think you'd needed to do over the top for reloading though the OEM extended stop may help you try to drop the slide with your index finger. I'd test that on a glock with one installed if you can. Though if you are very worried about being able to reload with one hand you may want to look into a gun with an ambi slide stop or a revolver since the reloads are very different.
Installed one of these from GS and the slide would lock back unexpectedly after firing. Happened multiple times. Took it off and the gun operated normally again. This product is not for me.
That's cool I guess , I just can't understand the fascination with an extended slide stop. I mean I personally love Glocks and if you're a Glock person you can't really be into all the bells and whistles can you? Just saying it's a Glock it works.
I was going to drive down to your store from Antelope Valley, and get some work done, until I read your reviews. Wow. 2.8? Don't you read your own reviews? Whoever's in charge should let the owner know about these reviews. Some of us really read them.
Hey lenny, WHY DOES GLOCK STORE HAVE NO REPLACEMENT PARTS FOR GEN 5 GLOCK 17? NO SAFTEY PLUNGER, SPRINGS, TRIGGER AND TRIGGER BAR ASSEMBLY, AND YOUR OUT OF A LOT MORE STUFF! ITS BEEN FOREVER! YOU GUYS HAVE NOTHING! SUCKS!! WHATS THE PROBLEM
Forget ordering a Pyramid trigger. I'm done ordering from them, others can get my business. Just look at their Yelp reviews, horrible ustomer service these days!
Absolutely Hate extended controls. Gaston made low profile controls for a reason to not accidentally engage mag release or slide stop while in a defense situation. Glock actually recommends not using the slide stop to release slide on loaded mag but use over the top hand to pull slide back letting the slide go into battery.
I'm always pissed at how easy these alterations are made to sound to sell this stuff, when in reality it is almost impossible. My 42 is currently jammed completely. Pin won't come back out at all. Always keep that in mind when these guys lie to you on how darn easy it is!! They do this for a living and it ain't their gun. This particular model doesn't work on my 42. It digs into the frame. Now it is stuck on the gun.
Sure Lenny, last time I got the kit from you for $60 with delivery, the extended slide release part that holds the spring sheared off after 40 rounds... Then your customer service jacked me for $8 shipping. It took 28 days for you guys to refund my $52... Just on principle I am disputing the $8 bucks with my credit card company. Your employees should have taken my advice and just replaced the one defective part instead of making me send the entire kit back. Got one from FleaBay instead for $10 bucks that still functions after hundreds of rounds.
The stock slide stop and slide lock are designed the way they are for a purpose and I have never felt the need to change it. But you exist to sell aftermarket parts.
@@Runitup2k I could see your point on the mag release but you might end up dropping a mag without intending to. Is Hater a brand or you calling me one?
@@flintymcduff5417 ahhha was calling you one but your a reasonable fella, but I have the most extended mag release and I got a high grip and I’ve never accidentally pressed the release
"Feel" what you want. These extended accessories are really helpful to those of us who's hands are wrecked from actually working with them for decades.👍
@@levantsitsishvili7933 let's say I shot the hell out of them for more than 12 years and we had them for operational duty , never changed a thing in them ,keep in mind they have tens of thousands of rounds through, only thing we did is wd40 If anyone can confirm the us ones are as reliable as these then there you have it If I had to buy a 1911 I would definitely buy it from the States
Extended slide stops are for people with small hands. I’ve never had an issue and I don’t have large hands. It’s a slide stop…not a slide release. People need to remember this haha.
