I've been really enjoying shield mastery perk. Bopping somebody with the quickness right after you successfully block feels awesome and rewards good blocks.
I know the one comment complained you didn't have in game tips, but that's 90% of the other tutorials on RU-vid. I'm very glad you instead took the time to break down perks, but especially that you discussed builds and strategy, as that stuff has been harder to find online
thoughts on giving fighter new perks for the 2 handed weapons, namely the halberd. i dont see why the class should be limited to sword and shield with plate armour if those weapons exist as native weapons. having more variety in weapon choice than 3 swords would make the class a lot more fun to play, and in any case fighter needs new content badly.
I am too very fond of the logic of dex/will gloves, with barbuta helm, dark leather pant… but I also aim for jazerant chest because even legendary one are super cheap. That makes a less PDR kit but so much less espensive and it grands me high mobility and basically negates magic type players. Then I don’t need then armor move speed penalty reduction and I can focus on another block/weapon perk that will increase my lethality on counterattacks.
This video was really helpful I just started playing and first I chose a warlock but I didn't like the casting so I decided to swap and couldn't find anything that was working for me other than warlock until I found this guide now I'm actually able to do stuff in the game lol
You didnt touch on the weapon mastery perk. Especially in Solos, i feel like running a survival bow is almost essential for dueling at range while maintaining mobility that a crossbow just doesnt offer. I also like it for chasing down and finishing off faster and slippery characters that just run away from you now with the sprint nerfs. Thoughts?
amazing guide, definetely gonna try some of the gear choices and taunt. wouldve loved to hear more about longsword fighter tho. ive been running it since wipe and im really enjoying it 9/10 times, just curious if I missed something or just things to keep in mind while playing it idk... :)
I dont play longsword fighter tbh so Im not one to speak on it. if youre curious in the official dnd discord in fighter chat theres a ton of longsword players you can ask about for help on it
I haven't played this game in years, just got it off steam last week. Started out with the longsword fighter and I never looked back. I'm a couple more attempts from soloing that stupid cave troll though.😅
They should add a skill where they throw their shield like Captain America and it would stun for 1 second. The fighter would have to go and grab it back like how a Bard throws their drum
I have to defend Victory Strike as it has gotten me out of so many bad situations where I get surrounded by mobs accidentally and I didn't have any heals on me. If you know how many hits it takes for a certain enemy, you can easily figure out when you need to hit the ability to get the heal. It's an instant heal too, Also the fact there is no debuff and the cooldown isn't that long. No need to farm spiders, just take out an enemy every 18 seconds. Also great for just keeping your health at max throughout your run and you can use your actual heals if you get into a sticky situation. Albeit, this is from a solo standpoint and I realize your builds are mostly for trios.
Me and my buddies just hit level 20 and want to do some high roller geared runs soon. Only have about 2k gold, and will probably go with the first perk/skill build you showed in the vid. Should I try to find some cheap blue plate gear with maybe a few purples like that visored barbuta? What would be the best weapons setup with little gear? Falchion and heater shield + crossbow?
at that point my recommendation would be just to go in very low gear and try to find stuff in raid. if you survive 1 run youre likely to end up mostly in blues and just continue on from there
Great guide defenitley gonna implement some of this stuff. Had a crazy kit at the beginning of the wipe with like 60 percent pdr 100%ms and 40% mdr no weapons out. Lost that tho. Before shifting to pdr mdr fighter I was a slayer main and I’m wondering if you ever think slayer will become viable again with the weapon damage and sprint nerfs. Anyways great video hold the line with fighter man.
I've heard that defense masteries armor rating boost wasn't good at all. Is that something from an onlder build of the game or are they just wrong? I think they said it was just a small number
Could it be better to satck res. instead of buff duration? i dont know the actual formulas for cooldown reduction on res. but it could actually be viable no?
the main point isnt stacking buff duration specifically its moreso that will gives MR and buff duration while existing on good armor pieces. visored barbuta templar leather gloves all being good and cheap pieces. but like you mentioned it does also help second wind
@@toddfatherttv I should have mentioned I play solo atm not teams, so not sure if that changes your opininion? I'm still new to the game, but I've found the extra range and move speed with the longsword let's me get the first hit more often and good for catching up to people
@@acestronaut4893 I mean if youre having fun with it thats all that matters. when youre in really low gear levels anything can work. in terms of a meta idek if there is one down there
There's exactly one class that's viable in solos in this game: druid. Because ~50% of the time you're going to just run into a class that's a direct counter to you, and there's fuck all you can do to win the fight. At least on druid, when that happens, you can just rat and nope out of the fight. Any other class you're dead. On druid you have the chance to leave the fight. Wouldn't it be cool if they did ANYTHING to make this game skill based instead of rock-paper-scissors class based? Yeah... it really would.
Hmm. I see skilled people beat their counter all the time. Only an issue if the people are equally skilled and the game is designed for trios. Seems like a standard case of git gud my dude.
Maybe for you lol. This game can be very brutal sometimes but I wouldn't say hard counter. There are multiple ways to engage a fight even if they hard counter you and still win. You just have to play smart and maybe not be bad at the game
I went over every single perk and skill when to use them and when not and showed off gear to use. LMAO Im sorry i didnt load into your game and give you a firsthand account of how to play the class
considering new player gear progression is basically whatever you can equip. i showed off multiple kits which is showing gear you can/should be wearing. talking about fighter as a class and perks/skills to be running plus the reasoning why behind them is already the most important thing i feel. if youre a new player me going into complex topics on how you should be playing fighter isnt going to be helpful itll just be confusing
@@toddfatherttv no I meant what is a good setup below 25 gearscore for example according to the skills mentioned, there is always min maxing even in whites
@Parobro there is no good set up for less than 25 gear score. You can't equip anything except 1 uncommon gear piece, and it can't be a weapon bc that will make you go over 25. You'll wear mostly Poor quality gear and those types of gear won't provide you with any stats, literally. The only way you can start setting up is by going in w starter gear and keep doing that until you actually find uncommon/rare gear that you can wear. Or just go in and look for treasure to sell to rack up gold and buy your gear.
Lost me at the beginning. “Fighter is a defensive class and you’ll be able wearing a sword and shield like it or not” BS I see plenty of very good longsword and also slayer players.
I love this guide BUT, Breakthrough is good. everything that hits you in this game slows you. EVERYTHING, yes most mobs dont, warlocks and some wizard spells dont. but you cant get ran down, most of the time you get hit by someone running at u while ur runnign away the reason u die and they are catching up is the move speed debuff, and breakthrough makeing u take 0 FUCKIGN DEBUFFS is crazy... a windlass does nothing, a crossbw doesnt stop a push NOTHING.
yes it does this but if someone is going to run from you if they use their brain they wont turn and shoot you when they see you breakthrough. and running a skill that the main use for is to run away on a fighter seems pointless especially considering the actual value youll get from that is very low. if youre slow enough for them to be hitting you theyll kill you most likely regardless of the hitslow.
@@toddfatherttv well it’s not just the running aspect it’s the getting close aspect i think it’s good and break through and sprint should be mixed and only last 6 seconds it would be a good buff to both tbh
the best fighter guide for NEW PLAYERS, heres a 5000 dollar kit and an other one and an other one and an other one that the kits that i buy with my 5000$....
Its just showing off all the different gear pieces you can use bro... LMAO dont talk about the first 2/3 of the video where i explain every single perk and skill
The "bla bla random stuff" you're talking about is him literally teaching you the class. maybe if you listened and didn't have the attention span of a squirrel you would've gained some knowledge of the game from this video.
20 minutes in and no mention of the longsword. This means you are not a good fighter, you are a shield boring pleb that has low skill. The true fighters are longsword bros. That is the way of the blade. The only way.
Yes because this is more focused for beginners. If i get into how to fight it becomes a lot more complex and truthfully it would just confuse most people who dont even understand the basics of the game.
So glad I didn't actually watch this 30min totally useless video... hopefully we see you in the dungeons because this will be an easy clap and loot to sell
Ehh I think sprint skill is a lot better than you think. I can close the distance, get out of trouble and if you max out movement speed of rip, you are untouchable. Sometimes I run no gear because if you aren't getting hit, then gear is irrelevant.
