Recently Nextshark reported that Eater had done the ultimate ranking of fast food fried chicken in America, and the winner was Jollibee’s Chickenjoy over giants like Popeyes, Church’s, KFC, etc. As two Popeyes supremacists we couldn’t let this assertion go unchallenged, so today we’re trying Jollibee’s Chickenjoy and giving our two cents in this Shokurepo review that nobody asked for 🫡

There was no adobo rice but I remember Jollibee in the Philippines offering an adobo meal. This was either in the mid to the late 90s or the early 2000s. 😊

Jolly Spaghetti doesn't have sugar in it. The sweetness came from the banana ketchup used stemming from the shortage of tomato way back from before, it was made to cater for a kid's palate at first but grownups came and loved it too. If you liked the regular Chicken Joy then you'd love the spicy ChickenJoy, it has a tolerable umami spiciness in it that gradually blends with the juiciness of the chicken meat, Don't forget to dip it in the gravy though. If you'd want to try their burgers then i would recommend to go for their Spicy Chicken sandwich or the Amazing Aloha burger, you weren't missing out anything from the lack of french fries it isn't that special, McDonald's Russet Burbank potatoes are better might be better to just skip the fries. If you go for the Fiesta Palabok make sure to squeeze a kalamansi(local Filipino lemon) on it then mix it thoroughly until you cover the noodles with the sauce before eating. I don't know if they have lumpiang shanghai in there but its also a great choice and a staple in their menu, the meat is grounded so good its almost like Jesus' prepared those spring rolls don't forget to dip it in the sweet chili sauce too. New sub, I like your no nonsense approach take on this Jollibee reaction video I'd want you to level up and find an Authentic Filipino restaurant and try a Sisig, Adobo, Dinuguan and Crispy Pata too. Allow me to redeem meself and state that the sweetness of the spaghetti came mainly from the monosaccharide fructose from which the banana ketchup was used in its sauce.

@@aericacio Trying oh so very very hard too hard to sound smart eh. 🤣Aside from the banana ketchup, Jolly Spaghetti has additional sugar in it , hence the sweetness. That was my entire point. And banana ketchup if home made would not taste sweet hence additional sugar would be needed to have the desired taste.

great straight forward review guys and spot on video and editing qualities! try the spicy chicken (my favorite), spicy chicken sandwich deluxe, aloha burger, palabok, banana-langka (jackfruit) pie. the fries, yum burger, regular chicken sandwich are just ok but still decent. i like popeye's gravy actually but some say Jollibee's gravy is the best. you have to dip your regular chicken and fries in it to get that next level taste. the spaghtetti is made with the combination of banana ketchup and tomato sauce which gives that sweet savory taste. it's a hit or miss for alot of eaters. you actually did a good job with the burger steak mixed with the adobo rice or regular white rice. because the peach mango is gooey in texture you can mix it with vanilla ice cream next time. the best combo guys!! try halo halo (dessert) if they have it. with spaghetti, halo halo and palabok (with the lemon packet) you have to mix it well and get your taste buds go crazy! after this try authentic Filipino food at a good Filipino restautant near you if you can. looking forward to your next vlogs especially on filipino food. greetings from a new subscriber from California! take care and good eats always!😊 😋

I can't believe you didn't get a bowl of gravy with your chicken joy? You are supposed to DIP your chicken in the gravy ( the concept is inspired by the Thanksgiving Turkey Dinner ) Also, next time, get the Spicy Chicken Joy, that medium spice is a game changer, dipped in gravy of course. By the way, Jollibee only sells Leg & Thighs in North America. You need another video, and try the whole menu at Jollibee, including the Spicy Chicken Sandwich ( they use raw jalapenos instead of pickles ) If you ask me, its way better than Popeyes. Got your attention? lol. Seriously tho, even their Aloha Burger is the bomb.

@@pingyu5141 Unfortunately, Jollibee doesn't know how to communicate that the gravy is used for the chicken. In the US where they are based, gravy is used for mashed potatoes. I'm from the US and I think they have so many interesting graphic in the store but they should add a graphic image of a chicken being put on the gravy sauce. Otherwise, no one will understand its for the chicken.

The ingredients that use in jollibee chickenjoy is standard.. if you use 20 pcs of mixed part chicken, you use one pack of breadings and seasonings. So the flavor and taste is gradualy ferfect.. i was a jollibee employee from year 2002 until 2008 in the philippines.

I've heard nothing but good things in Jollibee, Theres a completely brand new store opening up here in my area but the Lines were so long .. I am dead serious people were lining up the night before the stores opening up..There were lines around the block up the corner .It was just going so far back..That's how you know the Food were really bussin' bussin' when people really willing to stay in the line for like forever just to have Jollibee's Food .. 🙌

I want to take pride of the Pineapple Juice 'coz it REAL Juice not synthetic like Tang, it's from the Del Monte and Dole Pineapple & Banana Plantation in the Philippines. Did you notice the Sweet Taste of the Spaghetti? It's kinda sweet 'coz it has Banana Ketchup, only at Jollibee. When I don't eat Chicken with gravy, we have a Philippine version of spicy sauce. A little different but it's very good. Chicken Joy works with anything. I also love the Spaghetti cause the recipe is sweet and tons of cheese. Basically for children.

Must-Try To-do List @Jollibee: -Spicy ChickenJoy dipped in gravy. In fact, if you get their 10 pc deals, they give you 2 containers of gravy just for the chicken. -Palabok - it's essentially rice noodles smothered in a flavorful sauce with ground pork, bay shrimp, and egg slices. - Fried Chicken Sandwich. Both original and spicy are good. - Aloha Burger. The bacon and grilled pineapple are flavor boosts to this burger. You need to do an encore video on Jollibee!!

A lot of people don't know this, while eating the chicken by itself is really good, eating it with the gravy changes it up. The chicken is meant to be dipped with the gravy, and the flavor together is a game changer!

Can't go wrong with my Jollibee's Fab Five🖐. The amazing Chickenjoy with unique gravy, tasty Spicy Chicken Sandwich 🍔, sweet Filipino style spaghetti, the phenomenal flavor of Peach Mango Pie🫓 washed with fresh Pineapple Juice/Quencher 🍍. Life's good 👌🌞BTW, you can do some Filipino food like lumpia or chicken adobo while reacting to Jo Koy's "Rice is Rice" or the "HULA Dance" stand up comic shorts. Looks like you misspelled Popeyes 🤓 also I think the Philippines has a really varied food culture bc of their diverse ethnic groups (and past colonization ofc 🙃) so that might have something to do with why Jollibee's offerings don't seem super traditional to most
