@@GodOfOrphans It stands for Tony Hawk Pro Skater. If I remember right I think that the studio making the Tony Hawk Pro Skater remakes was dissolved into a support team for the Diablo II remake?
13 Sentinels is criminally underappreciated, an absolute masterclass in storytelling. You can see why it took Vanillaware so long to finish and release it.
The english VA for Y7 was great. Started with it with the intention to go back to japanese after a bit, but I kept it on for the whole game. The final scene with Ichiban and the main antagonist was utterly phenomenal.
With is a shame, people either just dismiss it because Kojima is a dick(with is understandable and justifiable tbh),or they just prejudice games like eurotruck simulador or pathologic for example, that have this introspective feel to it I honestly never thought I would enjoy death stranding, pathologic,or any of this types of games, hell I've never liked Kojima in the first place, but still liked it regardless Btw i didn't like at all that he spoiled the shit out of this game,i may have 40+ hours of it but am still on the third chapter,i like to take it slow
Fans: so when are you going to make a everything wrong with yugioh gx season 3? Cvit: when I’m desperate now leave me alone. Fans: understandable have a nice day.
To be fair, I REALLY enjoyed Death Stranding. I knew what I was in for. Same reason I enjoy Too Many Cooks. It’s different. An experience. Neat list Cvit.
Its great to see The wonderful 101 get some love. Its such a shame to see it languish. Although there is no bloody palace the multiplayer missions are just some original missions that you can play to work on the mechanics. As far as i know you can also do them solo.
Not gonna lie, W101 was always on my list to get some day, but the relentless comparisons to Gurren Lagann (and the use of the music) had me purchasing it immediately after that section was done.
Death Stranding qualified because the PC version came out in 2020. Same goes for the Wonderful 101 which was originally a 2013 Wii U game prior to the 2020 remaster.
13 sentinels is one of my favourite games of all times and its great to see others love it too. Also on Playstation 5 which is what i played. The game ran perfectly without any frame drops at all.
Hey Man! I was watching your Hitman Movie analysis/rant and i just happened to stumble upon your text in the description. I just wanna say that it gets better and that you should make the content that YOU are satisfied with before worrying about your audience. I am sure your subscribers will appreciate it and will be there for you. Have a good one!
Interesting video, I haven't play most of them since I'm not much of a gamer I only spent money on a game that seems very interesting and I know I'm going to like it..
I was listening to this video in the background and then suddenly a Sasaki Sayaka's song starts playing 31:25. I was like, wait, what? Did my music player turned on suddenly? A nice surprise. 13 Sentinels is a masterpiece.
This is literally the first channel i've seen that has put Death Stranding in a GOTY video. Everyone hates Amazon Delivery Simulator so much, which is a shame i thought it was an awesome game. Also you're the only RU-vidr that hasn't shit on the RE3 Remake, you deserve respect for that.
with the boon stuf in hades, there is a lot of depth in picking the right ones, to get special duo boons for overpowered builds, i would suggest looking into that, you may find the whole system to be better then
I think it's worth considering the opposite view on hades: the fact that the boons don't change the gameplay might be good. You said you don't like having to change the way you play the game each run. Since most boons don't directly change what options you have, you can be certain you'll have access to the playstyle you like each run.
Surprised you didn't mention Kiryu's dub VO coming back, though you said you played in JP so it makes sense. Also seconding 13 Sentinels, please play it, and as blind as possible if you can. It's a masterpiece.
I did want to mention it after I recorded that section but I couldn’t find a place where it didn’t make the flow feel weird. It was kino to see him back
I love Yakuza 7 but god the final dungeon is so dumb. Not because it's a super hard dungeon but because you can't grind jobs very easily. Unless you stick with the same job (and right job to optimise characters) for the whole game it's not likely that you'll be close to the recommended Lv 90. Character levels being 99, sure but jobs will likely be like 50 if you've changed jobs around throughout the game which you'd think is recommended.
You don’t understand what makes Doom Eternal's boss fights appealing, both stand-alone and in an FPS context, I'm sorry to say. The bosses are iterations on the core combat loop. They test your mastery of resource management, enemy prioritisation, mobility, and weapon usage. The minions are there not only to mirror the standard encounters, but to also provide fodder for your equipment (health, armour and ammo). Samur and Gladiator especially are great fights, and provide unique challenges while adhering to the core combat loop of Eternal.
GOD FUCKIGN DAMMIT I've been hearing about 13 sentinels for a long while now yet I have no way of playing it (no money or PS4 or friends who own one) and now you recommend it too I need to find a way to do this
The comparison of DMC but losing your moves everytime you die with the roguelike genre isn't really a good comparison. Roguelikes tend to add properties to moves rather than removing your moveset. In Dead Cell's case, the weapon you liked in the late game might also be present in the early game. Later weapons just have bigger numbers and maybe synergy affixes compared to their early counterparts, you can still do the same moves for the whole game, the weapons just define which moveset you'll have. Aside from that criticism this is a well made list and I'll be saving this video for when I run out of ideas on what to play next.
Calling doom eternal a character action shooter feels like a complete lie. Maybe god of war the shooter, but if anything is character action it's ultrakill. High level doom eternal gameplay still feels and looks so much worse than styling in ultrakill because it actually feels like you're styling on demons, but in eternal it just feels like you're slaying. Idk It might just be me but the robot in ultrakill feels a lot faster and more fluid than the doomslayer.
Man I hate platforming on doom eternal. I’m not playing mario. The monkey bars and the double boost are good additions but the platforming sections made me drag my balls on a sandpaper.
13 SENTINELS ON PS5 Question: do the more hectic moments during mech battles still tank frame rate? Mentioning how the game struggles was such a good observation to make! I’ve seen/read 20+ reviews and this video is the first to articulate how satisfying to launch attacks which break the game for a few seconds. Thanks
Your entire Doom section you didn’t criticize anything mechanically. What about the chainsaw being gimped to shill the redundant crucible? The shitty standard fires on half of the weapons? The simplicity and redundancy of most enemy types? The lack of power ups? I thought you were some kind of action game expert, what happened?
I have no issue with the chainsaw change, it forces you to use all your weapons. Crucible is underwhelming yes, I talked about that in my original video. I don’t think the enemies are redundant. I don’t think the standard fires are shit and I yeah maybe I could have gone for more than one Berserk power up in the playthrough but I don’t think they less power ups in a detractor. Also, not an action game expert I just really like them
>self-proclaimed action guru and ambassador of mechanically interesting games >doesn’t list curse of the moon 2 or spelunky 2 Normie opinions as usual.
42:27 I don't know if you're joking or not or you haven't played Yakuza 0, but to unlock those fighting styles in 0 you need to complete those minigames.
@@Cvit Oooh. That kinda threw me off. I thought you were talking about the stances. I'm the exact opposite of you when it comes to playing Yakuza games. I do every available substory or play some minigames I really like first and leave the story for last. Playing just the story is like playing half the game when it comes to Yakuza. And It's a better way to play the substories at least on your first playthrough since it fleshes out the characters and rewards you well for completing them. And they're mostly very fun to do.
holy hell how few hades did you play? basically when being at 100 hours you feel a worth in any god, certain boons are trash but thats ofc part of the bad luck, and any god got trashy boons
From "Check out but missed" list, put Manifold Garden first, followed by DQ11S, Paradise Killer, Pumpkin Jack and then World of Horror Heard mixed things about Samurai Jack and One Step From Eden.
Nioh 2 was my contender for GOTY but like Nioh 1, the story is an exaggeration of history, and if you dont know it, it's hard to appreciate it. The brings the best weapons bar none. Gonna love your thoughts on it
Your comments on the immersion aspect of Death Stranding are really accurate imo. I watched some people play the game on youtube, and I was pretty surprised when they just straight up killed MULEs. Like, didn't they see the 30 minute long cutscene about why that's a bad idea? I fully bought into the game's rules and its world, I didn't feel tempted to tempt fate and see what happened. I didn't screw around with BTs because I hated having my cargo messed with when I got dragged, and I never even saw the voidout mechanic until my second playthrough. Maybe you can construe that as a bad thing, that it makes it unrewarding to experiment and rewarding to play it safe, but for me it resulted in a very immersive and interesting experience you don't get in a lot of games. Most games are all about pushing boundaries and seeing how you can "game" the system to get an advantage, but for me Death Stranding wasn't like that at all. For all the ranking systems and multiplayer aspects of the game, it was a remarkably un-"gamified" experience.
