GOG not just tested games to make sure they worked with modern PCs. They have a team that dug for old games, got the distributions rights to them (for old games it can be really hard to determine who owns the rights to them anymore) and then programmed ports/wrappers to have them run on modern PCs!
I remember sitting around with my sister for ages taking that damn quiz as a kid. Guess its not much easier as an adult. Probably why our parents let us play it. We wanted to play a raunchy adventure game, but were basically tricked into playing an educational game.
Remember when me and my pal actually were kids trying to play this game. The third question we got was "Where do you have hair?". Thought we made it because the question was so easy and started to high five each other before we got tossed out.
I used to say that a lot, nowadays PS4 is good enough for me, and I've got 1070ti gaming PC. PS store = all the games in one place. PC = have 5 different accounts to whatever sites... meh.

That Leisure Suit Larry age test didn't age well. However, when you think about it, it was designed to keep out kids at the time which would include people who were 1 years old when the game was released so I guess it still works?
gog.com is great good endorsement, theyre having a bethesda sale now. When you buy things at GOG you actually own it your not just renting some license that can be revoked at any time.
The comment some may need: The Witcher does require you to have GWENT in your library, it also doesn't show the game as free until you add it to your cart. It only showed it for $1.49 until I clicked add to cart. Hope this helps!
Yes, you do have to install GWENT **FIRST** before it will recognize it in your library. As it's a free game, like in steam, you have to at least begin the install before it's in your library.
THat link with "the subscribe to GOG.com" does no good, I subscribed and never got that game only shows how to purhase it for 2 $ :-( Also nowere to get the "newsletter" LOL
@@marcalain2318 I had to have Gwent ( it's free) in my game library for the deal to work for me. After I installed their launcher and added Gwent to my library by clicking Download, it prompted me to get The Witcher for free when I to the link.

I've been following your channel for more tha 3 years now and everything i have learned from pc building and water cooling all comes from your videos you should be awarded a prize for making these videos and teaching people how to build a computer the right way
I like how GOG just gave them a bunch of games out of the goodness of their hearts without even a sponsorship contract, and they repay them with hogging their servers
I'd probably say endless upgrade possibilities. There's nothing forcing you to upgrade and even then games developers need to make money so they build games to be playable on most systems.
Linus 2019: OH yeah I am driving 2030000 25mm standard fans to work every day! My office space is 70000 25mm standard fans squared. Here with LTT we don't measure in feet and miles; we are civilized! We use Fan sizes
When did comments of this type become ubiquitous? I literally can't look at the comments section of a single video without the first twentyfive comments being in the format of: Someone in Video: "saying something not that funny" Someone else: "saying something else not that funny" Is this apart of the "culture" of those born after 1995 or something? Kind of like how that generation can only communicate with other human beings using memes?
@@MikkaPower dude, I was born in the 80s, there is no "back in my day*, and anything truly humorous transcends age and generational gaps...to me, all I see is a bunch of people being unoriginal copiers taking a shortcut to thinking instead of being clever and coming up with something original themselves.... FYI, logically fallacious ad hominem attacks do absolutely nothing to disprove someone's argument *wink* And since your so butthurt, I can tell you were probably born in 2001 so just for the record, it's your generation that are the lame pussies.... Our idea of fun was doing lines of blow off a strippers ass, taking heroic doses of hallucinogens, and having unprotected sex while yours is staying home on a Saturday night, drinking LTT espresso beverages for some pep, and not even playing video games yourselves, but watching someone else play them on twitch... I seriously think this will be the first time in recent history where the newer generation are a bunch of lame pussies compared to the one preceeding it
I would not even want that PC... stupid mobo choice. Like, Asrock, MSI, Gigabyte etc have small form factor mobos, that are x570, but no, Asus does not, thei go with B450 cos they are stupid. AND IF YOU DON'T HAVE PCI-E GEN 4, WHY THE F IS LINUS USING AN PCI-E GEN 4 DRIVE??

Same thing for Québec resident, we are always excluded :-( Because our consumer protection agency requires that all !giveaway" put up a bound to ensure that the prize is really given, and of course no one w ants to do that.....
10Gbps Internet is still not that common for gamers to have, even in places like Chattanooga or Japan where 10Gbps Internet is available (it tends to either be pricy or bottlenecks somewhere).
@@chaztitan6457 Absolutely no way. That would mean your five games have 200 GB on average. Considering that 100+ GB is already a big stretch even for the most modern and best-looking games, that is complete bogus.
Cosima Youwouldliketoknowhuh not as expensive as the entire console. A £250+ graphics card will surpass today’s consoles easily. Spend carefully and you can get near about the same price for a better system. I think Linus should’ve went for a lower end card. But the PS5 seems like it’ll be surpassing the price value of the PC.
nick longstaffe by “good” do you mean very unnecessary? Next gen consoles looking to be at most 500-600$ which currently would get you like a mid tier rtx which is rather unneeded.
when I was a kid, I would get my grandma when she babysat us to answer the skill testing questions for me to get into leisure suit larry in land of the lounge lizards. she'd ask me why it needed to know those things, and I just made up some story and then she went off to read her book.
@@crustysocks5742 A file named "readme" so that if someone encounters issues and opens the folder, that is the first piece of information they check. Some people are annoying and put license information, or credits, or patch notes, in them. Another common naming-pracitce for said file is "manual.md" or "readme.md", which iirc is the file github looks for to present as the manual for the project in the repository.

Yearly* I'd like to say... The increase in my electric bill for my PC is a little higher than to simply having a console with the yearly subscription since consoles are such low power consumption devices. The electricity bill in my state is much higher than average. In the long run in my personal experience, it's more expensive for me to continuously use my PC in the same schedule as I did with my console.
Loading Forever It can be monthly, depends on what you picked. The power bill can easily be fixed by getting a PSU with a solid power rating, which again, lowers the price even more long term. On top of that, it’s a computer. You can do literally whatever you want on it.. game, edit video/photo, RU-vid, media, etc. And the main upgrade, performance. It’s much, much, much faster. You also get more customisability in everything, mods + more.
Welp sorry for being misinformed, but friends of mine that own a console (regardless of PS4/XBOX/switch ) always moan about how they have to pay monthly to just "play with their friends".. that's really all my statement was based on lol
