I know you did a shop equipment video a while ago but I’ve noticed that you’re in a new shop now, would you consider doing another video on your current setup?
How do you go about prep on wheel's with machined surfaces? Do you still blast prep or just sand the areas that are being coated? Great job on the wheel's!
What blast media do you use? (Leaving this comment since you said you wanted more comments, and you’d probably be disappointed if nobody asked the question.)
Im working with a new sponsor right now who supplies a ton of different colors in that realm. so expect to see some videos coming up, showcasing new products!
One question I've had is about the strip setup. Is that just there for expediency? As a home-gamer, I'm likely never going to have the room (or funds) for a chemical-strip setup. I'm guessing the strip before blasting just cuts down on the manual time overall vs. spending the time blasting the old finish off a wheel plus providing tooth for the powder.
Have you done wheels IE dirtbike wheels that see a ton of abuse. I did my sone this spring (Illusion Purple) and with 25 hours on them they are dull. I do realize the the abuse they take, but factory Excel rims that come with a semi gloss seem to take abuse longer. I redid his rear wheel last week and used tiger clear this time for a test comparison. First set I burned up some clear vision I had. Just looking for imput. thanks
@@UnknownCoatings Thanks, I do not know the part number of the Tiger clear I have now, but will see how it lasts the rest of the season. Keep up the vids, you were the first channel years ago I started watching when I got into this.
hmmm so just sand blasting all the finish off as opposed to chem stripping? Yes I have a video doing some Enkie wheels in blue, one of my earlier videos, that covers it
Green tape sticks? You had peeps tell you it didn’t stick well?? You are going against what you told me when I told you green tape was the best you said it didn’t stick so I’m confused are people telling you it don’t stick or are you telling people it don’t stick?? This is supreme coating on my personal RU-vid didn’t wanna sign in to make this comment lol so yessss greeen tape is the best amber tape is middddd haha hope you don’t get too mad over this comment
Green tape is fine on flat surfaces, not for anything that has a curve lol. Also matters how thick the green tape is. It also lifts after multiple coats lol So dont get too worked up on green tape cause it still isnt great lol
