I just snagged the 4070ti super as well but my CPU is a Ryzen 7 5800X so I clearly need to upgrade my CPU but its the internal battle of sticking with AM4 OR just gut the PC and jump to AM5
@@pewpewgamers_ grab a 5700x3d, it's almost same performance as a 7600 and you can keep your mobo/ram, then save up and get a 9800x3d or 7800x3d when price drops in a few years
Here in the states I'm using Ryzen 5 7600 and Powercolor Hellhound 7800XT. I game at 2560x1440. I'd recommend it to anybody if you find nVidia cost prohibitive. I do love nVidia just can't afford the prices. I'm not a brand loyalist. I'll happily use whatever is the best "Bang for the Buck."
Do you think it makes sense to toss in 50-60 more bucks and get the 7900 GRE while keeping everything same or the increase in performance isn't justified for someone who already thinks the 7800xt rig is towards the higher end of their budget?
I like that build, would go for my first PC build but are there any bottleneck issues that may encounter? What full PC specs have you on? Curious as a 1st time builder, thanks
Your video reminds me of a RU-vid content creator named Daisy whose first "gaming build" had an i9-14900K with an RX 580 2048SP. All of the simps following her praised her build while I told her that it was utter trash and that she was either an idiot or had very bad advice.
I went with the Ryzen 9 7900x3d and a 4080 Super for my first pc build. I went with the 7900x3d over the 7800x3d for three reasons, 1. I also plan on doing quite a bit of video editing for content creation, 2. I didn't want a cookie cutter build, and 3. I got it for $ 300.
@@swifet2494 Its amazing I play everything in 4k with that exact combo. Got benchmarks on my channel, I payed 2077 and got a ryzen 7 7800x3d and 4080 super. That was 4 months ago and the price of the ryzen 7 7800x3d did go up 100 dollars so add that to it for todays price.
Went with the 7800XT and 7800X3D. I tend to play more CPU heavy games and figured I can get away with just upgrading the GPU in a few years time if something reasonable comes out with a good deal, and the 7800X3D will be able to keep up just fine!

I7 14700kf and nvidia 4080 super owner here and has worked flawlessly. Great for gaming and productivity. Im glad I chose the i7 over the 7800x3d because they are not good outside the gaming world.
I just built a pc with B650E Taichi...7800x3d..4070ti super...2tb 990 pro...1000 watt Seasonic..Asus tuff 360 aio and a Montech pro case and i love it.
Classic example of going overboard on non vital parts, just to skimp on the most important part of all. You could have gotten a 4080 Super and double the storage for the same cost.
Watching this video on my custom built PC (with the help of this channel and more), rocking a Ryzen 7 5800x3D and an RTX 4070! Much more balanced than my rog Z13 tablet / laptop, which has a 12900H and a 3050ti...
Honestly, it'd be better to wait for the 9800X3D, Core Ultra 7 265K, 8800 XT, and 5070 for $2000+ builds. But if you're building a PC under $2000, 100% go for current-gen products because it'll be over a year before we get stuff like the RTX 5060.
Well it all depends what you’re looking for as well. 5800x3d and 4090 founders Monitor is 390hz 1080p If I play 1080p max settings rtx on I get 130fps average. No where near my monitors refresh. Your advice is good for most but not for competitive players imo Comp players need a 7800x3d with a 4070 running low settings in wz and Fortnite. Don’t hate me for saying this I love your channel 😊
I am still on AM4, upgraded my 3600 to a 5800X3D which was heavily discounted and added a 32GB kit of 3600MHz RAM which was also heavily discounted and my GPU can finally stretch its legs. No need to buy another CPU for a while especially at 1440p and above. So many people over spend on their builds for that e-peen but nobody cares about your specs, considering I mostly play older games and mod shit like Fallout, Skyrim and play Brutal Doom in all its forms I'm set for a long time. I can also take advantage of all my RAM for video editing and music production, so I don't feel the need to buy new shit just for the sake of it. The X3D chips are all pretty awesome in all their versions.
7800X3D and RX 7900 XT here. Runs everything I need it to everything maxed out at 1440p, even a completely unoptimized title like Gray Zone Warfare runs at like 80+ fps at 1440p without FSR or Frame Gen, but with both turned on I break 150+ fps average. I am even thinking about getting a 4K monitor as a second monitor so I can fully utilize my GPU to the absolute max in some games.
Best cpu/GPU combo that you’d recommend right now for a content creator/streamer. (Serious, almost full time). Special needs. Need to encode 2 separate streams. While gaming/recording. 4090 is out of the question price wise. My thoughts were either the 7950x3d with 4080 or the i912900k with 4080….but I’d love to hear your thoughts.
My current GPU and CPU combination is the i9 14900k and RTX 4090. Coming from console to PC, I wanted the best performance compared to console and the best overall performance with no budget in mind.
I had a R7 5800X and a 7900XTX for 4K gaming on my 120hz TV. My son has a i7-12700KF and a 4070 for 1440p 165hz Daughter has a R5 5600 and a 3070 and plays 1440p 120hz Currently building another PC for myself and am going for either a 5600 or 5700X with a 5060 next year 1440p 120hz.
The thing is everybody suggests the 7800X3D because it still out performs the newer 7900’s versions because of the L3 Cache if you build a high end with a 4070 ti super to a 4090. The newer Ryzen’s have more cores but are built for more productivity and tasks rather than games.
A 2080 super and a 5800x 3d is probably even more than what most people need. You certainly don’t need to be on a DDR5 platform to get excellent 2k performance.
You don't but if you buy into am4 on a new build, you will not be able to upgrade at all. You'll have to buy all new. I am already on AM4 and can't decide between going 5800x3d or upgrading to am5
As someone who is also on AM4 and deciding whether to upgrade to a 5800x3d or AM5 Id say the choice is more up to budget since you have to dump more into new cpu, mobo, and ram
ryzen 7 7800x3d are getting more expensive and in less amounts in canada, any other tips for a mainly warzone player at 1440p (scared to go AMD but looking at that 7900xtx :P ). Might wait if they ever make more 7800x3d lol
For those already on AM4 and looking to upgrade their Ryzen Zen+ (2000 series) or Zen 2 (3000 series) CPUs then the Ryzen 7 5700X3D fills the sweetspot as the value performance king 👑
using a ryzen 7 5700x and an rx 6650xt right now. thought about an rx6800, and even upgrading to a ryzen 7 5800x3d. flashing the bios is the only thing holding me back.
Just out of interest, I'm running a 4080 with an I5 13600k. Runs super cool and absurdly low voltage so decently OC'd. I've not noticed any performance loss, but would you say that chip is a bottleneck for the 4080? Like I said I've not noticed any loss in performance so it's not like I'll be rushing out to replace it, I'm just intrigued. Forgot to say that I'm on a 1440p ultra wide, typically using dldsr 2.25.
I'm still rocking i7 3770K + gtx 970 and I can finally say it's time to upgrade. I used to game a lot but not so much anymore, although I'm trying to get back into it and I have money now so I think going in on a new mid-range build is probably best for me. I'm thinking r5 7600 + 7700xt since that'll play every game at 1440p and I don't ever play with the settings fully cranked anyway. black friday or prime day on Oct 8-9 might be the day I build out a new pc
My spec 5800X3D CPU. 16gb 4060ti GPU. 32gb DDR4 3600mHz RAM. I play games like Cyberpunk 2077, Hogwarts Legacy and Dead Island 2 and I easily hit 90FPS on all of my games. Great video Marcus yet again. Well done man. Keep up the good work. 1 question Marcus. Is a Quadro M4000 a good partner for a Threadripper 3960X CPU? I am building a video editing pc with those parts. From Ethen
Bloody brilliant info! was looking at the 5700x3d as i just upgraded to a 7800xt and my 5600x is fine but defiantly a bottleneck. Thank you. Going to pick that up now.
I'm looking at building a PC soon but the games I play are exclusively more CPU bound. Should I still look at balancing the CPU and GPU or should I skew it in favour of the CPU? I don't play any triple A games.
So I've decided to move away from playstation and build my first pc, I've done some research and after watching your vid, is a rx 6700XT paired with the AMD 5 7600 a good combination?
Hello My Friend I want ask you something? Are You suggest Me Buy Graphic Card RTX 4060 , intel i7 11700k , 32 ram , ssd and power supply from Amazon or buy it from merchants?
I'm wanting to upgrade my pc in a few months time. I have a msi b550 vdh wifi motherboard with the ryzen 5 5600x and rx7800xt. I can't afford to go am5 as I will have to buy everything all over again and I don't want to do that. So I'm choosing to upgrade to a ryzen 7 5800x3d and either the rx 7900xt or xtx but I feel like I should wait until amd reveal their next line up of gpu's I'm into playing racing simulator games, farming simulator 22, assassin's creed valhalla and I'm wanting to be able to play all of them at 4k high, or ultra settings as the rx7800xt can't quite do 4k smoothly.
Have a question, I am running a ryzen 5950x with AMD Radeon Sapphire Nitro Plus 7900XT with 64GB of Ram, if I was to upgrade to DDR5, would I see much of an improvement?
Amazing video and I loved the explanation, I’m currently building a pc as my old one is outdated. I’m looking at the ryzen 9 7950x3d so when the new 50 series comes out I wouldn’t need to upgrade the cpu. ( and for years to come too) My question is should I buy the 4080 super for the time being to play games as I don’t have a gaming desktop or should I wait for the 50 series to come out ? Thank you
Do you recommend I wait for the next gen of GPUs? I currently have a 2070 super I bought this just before the 30 series came out, I'm buying a completely new pc cos I'm on 9th gen cpu
if you rich. put i9 and 4090. if you not rich but you medium-balling, put i7 or 7800X3D and 4070TI super. if you broke, put i5 and RX7600. if you have no money. put imagination of i9 and 4090 (this is my preferred option)
Unless I pay big money and change my mother board, my upgrade path is to upgrade my CPU to a better 11th Generation Intel CPU. I have an 11600 KF so I could grab an i7 or i9 as long as it is 11th generation. Currently my Video card is an RTX 3060 Ti 8GB (I think). What video card pairs best with an i7 11700 K or i9 11900 K CPU?
I'm currently pairing m RTX 4080 (not super) with a i5 14600k. The i7 was hard to find so I got the i5 instead. I asked around on some forums if the i5 would bottleneck the 4080, but people said it shouldn't be a problem. I don't use any software to monitor performance, but from gameplay experience only, it seems to be running great. You think it was the right call? I would notice any improvements with the i7? I play mostly at 4K with DLSS.
would like to ask if i want to run a 2k ultra along with streaming games(Apex, Valorant, DBD) and video / apps running, what is the recommend one for most value worth? is there full build recommendation? is 4070 with 7500F enough? or I need go for 7800x3d? looking into getting a middle size case. what motherboard should I go for too? or is there cheaper option but to run that graphic? just started learning.. >
So I was fortunate enough to win a gaming pc through a competition! However I’d already set some money aside for a gaming pc and would like to upgrade certain components, the cpu is am i5-13400f and GPU is a 4060ti (8 gb), if I upgrade the gpu to a 4070 ti super but keep the same cpu will it handle 4k (with diss)?
If I'm looking to get the highest fps in competitive fps games, What am I looking for exactly? I think a more specific response to my needs would help me. I mostly play shooter games like Apex, Valo, Overwatch, Fortnite, and occasionally other games like Outlast trials, Cyberpunk, Helldivers. I don't tend to really touch singleplayer games, although I might on special occasion if it's something I'm really interested in or stream to friends. But I don't think I'm really a finatic over it looks absolutely perfect anyways because I don't play those kind of games enough. I don't really have a budget and could get the 4090 if I'd like to but I'm not sure if it's really needed rn especially with the 5000s coming out soon. Although I'm trying to get this pc built by November. I do plan on streaming as well if that's relevant. What is recommended for me?
understanding how to control a CPU bottleneck is necessary no matter how good your CPU is, bc if there is a CPU bottleneck it ruins everything to a horrible degree. Knowing this you have to set things up so that the GPU is the only bottleneck. And that's why stuff like mouse polling rate too high can ruin the experience or fluctuating fps as well, so you put a limiter to the lowest fps you get so it stays constant, and run with vsync as long as the constant fps is atleast half or more of your refresh rate cause below half it will look bad. edit: with this tactic you can get any game to run great on any cpu bottleneck as long as the gpu is beefy. that's why i can have perfect performance after adjusting some settings while using a i7 6700k paired with a 7900xt. It's not about the size it's about how you use it.
