The napkin made by your aunt reminded me of pillowcases my grandmother had--a friend made the crochet edges that are very much like the edges on your napkin. I still have some! Thank you for the story about this beautiful item.

Loved this video. Thank You. Wishing I could fit this in our Tamalada but we would still have to make an equal amount of our traditional red ones and we are running out of steam ( 80 years old ). Already planning on making chicken and chili, cheese and chili, beef, red pork and a small batch of sweet ones . I would appreciate seeing this process done with a Kitchenaid mixer and possibly using fresh masa. You create great videos, ! I can taste it and am inspired by it. Our mercado bought fresh masa ( not masa preparado ) only allows for the addition of a small quantity of additional liquid getting to the float stage. Any ideas on whether or not it can be seasoned with chili. ?
