Wondering if you could compare 4 smaller lights in a larger space vs one larger board style light for coverage and price over the course of 3 years. I can get (4) Viparspectra P1500’s for pretty cheap (sometimes $90 shipped each). Seems like a good option vs some larger 550w “top end” lights in a 4ft x 4ft tent. More smaller lights probably gives better coverage with less hot spots than a 550 board style light.
I would ask for the same test! I got a good deal on 4 Used Maxsisun MF-1000 lights, I wonder how a set up like that compares to one 4000 series light? I am thinking the light spread might be better with the smaller units because you can spread them out a bit. Thanks for these videos
I will be releasing the 4 x 4 comparison soon. The purpose of the charts is that each light is being compared on the cost to fill a 1m x 1m space with 750 µmuls PAR. This means the charts from each review can be compared and suit your purpose. However just remember 4 x lights in one tent = 8 x hangers and 4 x power cables. It would get very messy
@@MIGROLIGHT thanks. I hope you are able to fit a 4 x 1000 light set up into your 4x4 4000 series tests! It will look like a terrible mess compared to your Migro array I am sure 😆
Based on your tests i have gone with two MF1000s over an MF 2000 to upgrade my strait from china amazon light and could not be happier with the results and the consistent spread i was able to get threw my 2×4. Thanks you for the time and effort you put into your work to help us do what we do better. I have now used your videos to check the par using the ppfd meter app on my android and come up with readings within 2% of yours allowing me the peace of mind to know at least with the mf's i am exactly where i want to be! Your the man!
@@Sferguson360 pretty sure they went out of business or possibly one of the companies that was aquired then just dismantled. I cant remember the company doing it off the top of my head but im sure they are one of them being amazing lights at an extremely cheap price point.
Another great video. Thumbs up! One thing of interest might be to measure the heat output of each of the lights. I've got a Mars Hydro 1000 and that thing gets H O T . I know other grow lights don't seem to put out as much heat and it would be interesting to know if that's real or just perception.
I was just checking some of the products and Senlux state that their SE-1000 doesn't need cooling down. I intend to place cooling, but know this is a problem before when I used sunlamps and ballasts. The heating aspect was definitely a factor for me when looking just now.
Have you tried removing the driver and moving that outside the tent? The driver gets very hot, and the tent will drop a few degrees by moving it outside. I also moved the controller to give the light extra cooling.
Hi Shane, I want to ask you why when you test the Migro Aray the distance of the measurement is only 16 centimeters, while for all the other led lamps the distance is kept from 30 centimeters upwards. If the measurements are made in this way, it is obvious that the migro aray has a very good par outpout, but you cannot compare the results with the other tests.
just ordered my migro light and they have the best customer service ever! i ordered the aray2 and shortly after wanted to upgrade to the pro model and they upgraded it for free, as i forgto to use a "10% promo code". Thanks shane =)
I’m happy you haven’t quit posing videos on review on grow lights. A while back you even admitted that your light was not as efficient it takes a lot of honesty for someone to admit, however happy to see the new product.
Just did 4 autos under 1 mars hydro ts1000 with lots of lst. Final yeild 287 grams dry. Happy as hell with that, now I have 8 plants under 2 ts1000 and that's all I'll spend on lights.
Yeah he missed the king of 2x2. The maxsisun pb1500. Nothing can beat that light in a 2x2. The coverage area is perfect and par dead center is over 1000 dead center at 18 inches. Its missing ir that's it. But par to the corner at 18inches is over 600. Did I mention it's only 80$
I don't know about the States but in Europe electric & gas have risen 50% so big budget lights etc are gonna be extremely difficult to maintain indefinitely! That's why a "mid range" led light has turned out to be useful, seems many people have missed out on a brand called senelux and their newest 'blurple' style led which starts from 300w -1200w (equivalent to hps/mh) while only pulling from 130w upwards from the wall ! It has a 9 band spectrum compared to viparspectra's last 'blurple' being 12 band (which seemed to be overkill for medical plants) the par & coverage is on the same level as mars hydro & spider farmer at same hanging heights, without burning plants. Another important upgrade is you can actually see the green coloured leaf's with senelux's 'blurple' it's less intense for you and the plants but still manages to outshine previous viparspectra's - p600, reflectors series & fecida's cr600 (much higher par, but doesn't necessarily agree with every genotype!) Best of the all the plants have never prayed so much and exhibited such vigorous & healthiness under senelux and that's after using the previous lights mentioned in this comment! They have sold out all 450 & 600w model's now so some people will be happy but these models need to be improved upon with streamlining whilst keeping the same things that plants love ie exact diodes, spectrum, diode colour and veg switches. Here's hoping!
Gotta say. Running the numbers using local energy prices. There is less than $20 difference in three year cost of ownership. I mean I'd want buy micro to support the business for the ethics morals practices and so on but the consistent quality provided makes it a no brainer. I really don't even watch to find other manufacturers at this point, just to hear your honest comparisons and the detailed information on all that is lighting.
The new Nextlights claim 2.6 umols efficiency, now use proprietary diodes and drivers and offer a 5 year warranty. I've used their older "Mini" light with great success, but I'd sure like to get your review on them.
Hi, what's the best light that is best for 4 plants, and for a limited budget, I am based in the UK, only asking because of the current climate with everything gone up in price, inflation. Any information would be much appreciated cheers
Hello folks at present i have a fecida cr 600 -1000 led in a 2.6 ft grow tent flowering 2 plants .I bought 2 Sylstar -1000 LED Grow Lights for half price .can I use them both in the 2.6 ft grow tent for flowering and get a 2 ft tent and put fecida light for vegging or is it overkill.thanks
Plz someone.. help me choose.. which light should i go for for my first led grow in a 60x60cm ...? I growed before but under hps.. Help me. Someone. Plz 🙏
But yes I like them and happy I went this route, the price Inc delivery still for me blew most if not all comp out of the water. For almost the same price as these I had the option of 2 Viparspectra p2000, everything else with the same decent diodes, quantity and wattage costs more atm. I researched so hard late last year and the GLS Grow 200 was the way to go for me.
I also used the photone app on ios to do my par, it may not be 100% accurate but with a tape measure, photone, reviews and manufacturers recommendation on hanging hights I'm pretty sure it's at the right level
Just wondering where does the vipar spectra xs1500pro fall in this group? I watched your review of it and then ordered one. So far I like this light but I am new to indoor growing. If you could get back to me I would appreciate it. Thanks and Merry Christmas and happy new year. Thanks again
My vipraspectre 1500xs overpowers my 2 x 2. I have to gradually turn it up over time and they still ahy away from the light. Might only go to 90% next time, a whole lot of pulling away from the light and minimal "praying leaves"
Ok, I really liked your Video, I am interested in optimizing the square meter with Led for cannabis My question is which do you think is the best Led ceiling light on the market for an indoor 1x1x2 and for a 1.20x1.20x2. Thanks
Need a light for a 2x2x4 any is this good for flower a photo plant WELLUCK Grow Light for Indoor Plants, Upgraded W1000 Full Spectrum LED Plant Grow Lights with Samsung LM301B Diodes, Dimmable Plant Growing Lamps for Seedling Veg 2x2/3x3 Grow Tent
I have seen this light 70w they claim 27 ppf, i divided w per ppf and got 2.59, that seems good according to yout chart, but then if i get two to make 140w i get only 54 ppf, thats bad according to your chart, the lamp costs 40 bucks now seems good at first glance but i am missing something, shouldnt this lamp have either higher ppf or lower ppf/w?
I know. It seems like Migro was ignoring the par map and that's pretty much all I care about. How the light does on the edges and corners is very important, imho and the last light was crap on the edges. Migro's lights are very good on these btw.
Hello.I’m needing to buy a light system for an 8x8 grow room(marijuana only).Could you recommend how many lights we need? The more videos I have watched the more confused I’m getting!
Hi im looking at getting a bloom plus 3000w it draws 300watt from the wall i wanted to find out whats ur thoughts about these lights and i was wondering if u had reviewed and tested these lights
mars hydro have really upped there game i own an fc3000 and its pretty decent kit for the money. 300w i beleive but i still use a 600 hps alongside. makes a huge differance in flower having both and saves costs
I'm using the viparspectra PAR1500 its like the budget version, pulls 150watts from the wall. I'm extremely happy with it but can't find anyone elses reviews on it. You have any idea what i'm talking about?
I didn't notice that but you are right. It would be very different in a 2c2 tent. Now I have to go back and see what all the other lights were measured in. smh.
Could you also test Sylstar? They are incredibly budget and claim Samsung diodes. They're most likely not even Epistar diodes but I'd like to see what kind of PAR they put out so I know if it's worth running the one I've just picked up cheaply.
introduce me, one of the students at the university of indonesia now i am looking for a title for my final project research where i plan to raise the title of planting chilies at home using grow light fully without sunlight, if i may ask is it suitable for chili plants if grown indoors using grow light from seedling to harvest? thank you
@@Oscuros thanks a lot for the answers and suggestions, i will start and try my research. may I include your youtube name in my research as a resource?
I'm surprised to not see Chilled tech's growcraft X3 mini (is meant for a 2x2) , it is dimmable from 15W-200W works fantastic in my situation. I say this bc the title is 'best 2x2 light' not most budget
@Denis-mw2jh just answering the reason why you wouldn't compare. They are not price comparable. I personally think money is better spent elsewhere. Enjoy your Austria made light fixtures. Happy growing😁
PlanetJeroen The TS-1000 is not a HUGE board by any means! However, I have done VERY WELL with this light in a 2by2 by5 closet setup I have, not a tent. A little more power during flower certainly wouldn't hurt anything. But, as a entry level 2by2 light this light is absolutely capable of growing some decent flowers. It's not always the equipment lol! Everyone is always a expert grower of ganja lol. I have a (CHEAP) yes I said cheap 100 watt QB-1000 I paid 65 bucks shipped to my door. It has Samsung diodes and a meanwell driver and on board dimmer. I use this light in a small grow box I built for growing 2 auto flowers at a time usually in 2 gallon pots. And I have grown some very nice quality buds under this board also, and it has 50 watts less of power! Sooo, it is ABSOLUTELY possible to grow great quality cannabis under these smaller boards assuming you use them in the size spaces they where built for. I mean if he thinks the TS-1000 is not capable of flowering a 2by2 with any kind of decent results, then he is pretty much saying that every single light on this ENTIRE list is a under powered hunk of shit, basically lol! Wich don't get me wrong to each his own. And like I said a little more juice during flower wouldn't be a bad thing. I feel like a 200watt board in a 2 by 2 would kill it for sure. But for value and being a budget friendly light built for small space growing the TS-1000 is a great light. It has more juice then any other 1000 series light that's for sure lol
@@nicklohry9284 if you can not afford getting the 100w extra, then sure it will do. If you are looking at a comparable yield compared to a 4x4 with 1000w HPS or equivalent, I'm not seeing it. I have 3 2x2's in same conditions. 250W HPS and 200W LED are comparable. 150W TS1000 has half the bud size compared to my 200W one that is about a week behind in flowering. So yah. And yes, they form nice tight nugs, so it's not that is shit, but it's definitely not getting you the max yield for a 2x2. And I am probably gonna say that for all the lights on the list, yah, agreed. Kinda waiting for 200 - 300W that fits in 2x2..
@@jerryfellows9367 I'm sure it does. I have a couple of the spider farmers that I started with, they're in the bottom of that list now.lol. They still provided me with great flowers, all those lights will. It's all about the improved efficiency and spectrum in these lists now.
I'm really keen to see if the ks2500 light will actually fit in a 2x2 tent as it says its 26inch x 24 inch.. I really want this light it will kill it in a 2x2 dimmed with a max yield due to closeness to light and even spead
That was the entire point of the video. The chart is in the video, multiple times, the lights are listed from best to last based on cost of energy used.
Why did you test Migro lights at 18 cm and some others at 30cm? It makes no sense and the data is not realistic. EDIT: after watching your other videos I understand now. Best efficiency for your light is best at these heights and for other lights it's higher.
Bonsoir, je viens de découvrir votre chaine serait il possible de me faire traduire vos vidéos en français. Car vos analyses sur les lumières m'intéresse beaucoup. Merci d'avance.
What I don't understand is why does everyone try to make a something simple like growing plants into this hard science project. Basically it's light , water and soil in a nutshell.
You shouldn't make a video comparison based on "recommended" height from the canopy! Because it honestly not a true comparison for the real world and the way we as growers use them! A proper comparison would be putting them all at the same height and doing a comparison!
Most of these lights are not cost efficient for cannabis , you would need to string 4 together to flower 4 maybe 5 crowded together. And if it’s daisey chained at 140 per x 4 = 560 not including taxes . Moreover some over drive the diodes which will reduced efficiency and diode life . If your looking for a veg or mother light there are many cheaper models out their without the name or higher quality you would want for flowering . Best to cut back on the weed purchases for a few and buy a 300 watt like the ks3000. I would like to add that I know nothing of the migro lights and am not qualified to comment on them they could be something to consider. Idk.
i feel ya everybody got an opinion, mei would hassle dimming these girls down to a matching wattage draw burn 'em for 30 min. and GO , I HAVE SEEN AN SF 1000 '' D'' W/OUT CONNECTIVITY , UNDIMMABLE NO ON OFF SWITCH, sorry cap lock anyways the NEW sf 1000 wil crank to 130w. before the driver interup pops and true 100w. wont stand up against a 1500 turned down to 100, BUT I FEEL YA GROWMIE AND REALLY HOPE THE BEST FOR CO. LIKE 'EM BUT I'M POOR ...PEACE OUT
You measured the TS1000 in a 2.5 x2.5 and the Viparspecta XS1000 is cheaper better components more performance than the AC inifinty and anything else there so Is the XS1500. The AC infinity and TS1000 pulls both near same wattage where the XS1000 pulls 120 Watts. Hard to beat HLG series flagship Meanwell driver and Samsung LM301b on the XS 1500. Coupled with its build quality components performance customer service warranty and price.
I would add another category to really shame the horrible lights that play the "par map game" instead of playing the "grow light game." Every 10Kelvin below 🌞 5400K average color temperature gets a negative 1% multiplier (5390K=99%, 5300K=90%, 5200K= 80%. 4400K=0%). Every 10K above 🌞5400K gets a positive 1%. (5410K = 101%, 6600K = 220%) Red sucks. Emerson added to 6600K is what red does well. Veging with
