I'll specify that in future videos. - Going atk% boots and lower SPD is fine and can be just as strong as high SPD due to BS mechanics. (I prefer SPD)

Focus on Kafka. She is the core of Dot teams. Then black swan is 2nd. Then you can use Ruan/pela/Asta + a sustain and have a fully functional dot team.
Me since last banner. I had prefarmed for Dr. ratio, but I also got Kafka and Himeko. So I'm still levelling Kafka, Himeko, and Sampo for the DoT team 😭
With my main team being DOT (and simping for both Kafka and Sampo) it's exciting to have a new addition to amplify that. I would be devastated to bench Sampo but he's also only E3 so I've got some playing around with combos to do. Also I love the guoba skins with every guide they give me strength.
I have E6 Sampo and I'll try to get black swan and hope to win 50/50 I can also try and get her LC since it's guaranteed since I didn't get Ratio LC and got bronyas instead
i snapped and pulled for black swan when i was saving for sparkle.. at least i have kafka tho now I'm just PRAYING i can save enough for sparkle by the time she comes out ‼️
I limited myself to 30 swan pulls as I want sparkle, If i lose her 50:50 it's good for me. If I get her than nice - I'll probably get enough for sparkle anyway, if I don't I get pity towards sparkle. I got nothing, but that's okay for me.
@@nousagi35p Build Sampo/Gui for her teams and wait for Kafka rerun. She also works with Serval/Asta use them depending on enemy weaknesses but it's more niche.
I already knew pretty much everything there is to know about her, but watched the video anyway since you do such a good job of putting these together. Didn't disappoint this time, either.
Got her after 153 pulls with a lost 50/50 to E1 Gepard but I'm just happy to finally have a new DoT inflictor in my Kafka team! Bit salty about having a 16.67% 50/50 winrate with only 1 win but at least I tend to lose to the more favourable standard banner characters. Also finally got my free 5* from standard so Bronya is now E1S1
Welp, i've got around 169 pulls, Yea I know, VERY FUNNY lmao, but hopefully I get her, hoping to pair her with my Kafka, and Guinafien, as well as a possible healer, because if I lose the 50/50, and get bailu hopefully, that could replace my current natasha, which would be nice, but if not, natasha should suffice, and anyway THE MOMENT I GET BLACK SWAN , I will scream so loud, *it will be able to be heard all the way from antartica at that point lmao XD* 💀💀💀

Black Swan is insanely fun to play and the Arcana mechanics are very addictive. There's something so satisfying about racking up 20-30 Arcana stacks and then seeing a 100k DoT tick blast the enemy at the end of the turn. If you like the ramping playstyle of DoT but felt that HSR's DoT system was a little too simple, get Black Swan!
@@scy11a17 Yeah MoC. You can stack it to 30 with a Kafka team during the cycles where Black Swan ults, if you have enough speed. If there are multiple targets (double bosses especially), they can inflict stacks on the enemy next to the when their Arcana stacks pop as well.
Using relic remains is exactly what I did lol I now have a 136 speed black swan with 121 effect hit rate with resolution lightcone for my support swan build 😂 if I get signature I can easily switch to attack chest

Man I had 100 pulls intended for BS, ILDH and hopefully sparkly but instead got clara followed by 2 black swans in my last ten pull. Now I cant have lunae nor sparkle.
Just got kafkas lightcone last update and just won the 50/50 for black swan 😭 AND I have huo huo I was wondering if tingyun or bronya might have a place here if not I’ll try going for a third dot like gui, I even have himeko to try out
It'd be better to use Sampo then. All she wants is DoT activation, but it's also quite rare. That said it's a game so who cares. Maybe with her E1, and a preservation unit equipped with the LC that causes burn.
Which is better for her E1 or S1. And where does Kafkas E1 or S1 rank in this comparison? Because a lot of players getting Black Swan are those who already have or are planning to get Kafka. So if they wanted to upgrade that team their main options would most likely be E1 for Kafka or B.Swan and S1 for Kafka or B.Swan. So personally in what order of priority would you rank these 4 options.?
Maybe you don't do it since there's relatively less interest from the community, but at least from all the CCs I follow in HSR NO ONE is making guides for new four stars. I don't know all the logistics of time in -> benefit out on making RU-vid guides, but (especially now that four stars are coming out slower than 5 stars) it seems like an un-tapped space to get some clicks and views! Surely the vast majority of Black Swan enjoyers pulled at least one Misha!

Manage to build pity on kafka(totally didnt pull 25 and didnt get her) & got blackSwan on first 10 pull, and quite sad when vid stated kafka is good combo while the substitue for kafka is e4 sampo, and my sampo is e2 😿
I am kinda sad that they made the lightcone so extra necessary that if you don't have eyes it the prey. You pretty much need it or else you are stuck in relic hell forever. And even the tutorial lightcone which many players don't have is a huge dps loss. Of well i guess my jades are gone.
Ok so i got a question regarding how much EHR should be om swan. affer i got the final build down on a lvl 20 character, final Hit rate is around 94.7, another 10%, from traces, so 104.7% overall. Now, should i use Before Tutorial s5, or Night prey(sampo LC at S1 sadly) (124.7 vs 144.7), while going atk rope and sphere.
I'll skip her for now, but the even in just her trial she did insane amounts of damage (for a trial) I only have S1 Eyes of the Prey anyway, and Tutorial is glued to Pela, so I don't have great options for her right now. So I can focus on Aventurine for now ❤ Thanks for the guide though, I will refer to it when I need it
I always run triple dots + sustainer for my team. With Black Swan and Kafka on the team, should I go for Luka/Gui (based on enemy weakness) or bring Asta/Tingyun for the 3rd slot?

One thing about Ruan Mei’s paired with Kafka is that you can actually run a slower Ruan Mei. Her technique allows her to deploy her skill boost at the beginning of the battle so you don’t have to be preoccupied a lot by her speed tuning 😊
How do I make my best out of my team? I am trying to run her with E4 Sampo GNSW1, Guinaifen E4 GNSW1, and Gepard S1? I feel kinda lost after pulling her and her S1, lost two 50/50s and kinda regretting it a bit :(
The answer you don't want to hear, save for Kafka and get her on her next re-run. The answer that I can best give for your situation. triple DOT is a scam it doesn't do as much damage as you think it will even with Kafka, double DOT plus support plus sustain is the way to go. Unless you know you can clear whatever without healing or shielding then you can go triple dot with a support. But the dots feel like they need a support to really make them shine. As far as order I would say Ruan Mei (she buffs whole team which works for your double DPS comp in DOT as well as her special break effect is great for having the enemies take more dots). Asta is a great choice because she gives team attack buff, speed buff, and the cherry on top is a little DOT of her own that you can capitalize off of. Then I would say maybe Tingyun, she can give an attack buff. More ults for your Black Swan and she is lightning so if she breaks it's another DOT. Hanya isn't a bad choice due to more skillpoints for your DPS to use and she is physical which is a DOT break element. Wouldn't recommend Bronya because she deals more with crit DPS and your aren't really looking to crit here. But if you have her built and no other supports go for it. Sustain units you can run anything but I think the best is HouHou, she gives attack buff energy and she is wind so her breaks are another DOT. After HouHou I would say Bailu is another great choice because she is lightning. (pretty much looking for a fire, wind, physical, or lightning in your support and sustain isn't a bad Idea because there is a chance for more DOTS) Last is fire MC because more dots... Now for the big thing. DOT teams take alot of investment, you're investing in two dps and in truth you really want to swap out dps/support/sustain as needed, you want to have a good pool of units to counter the weaknesses of the enemies to get more dots. so getting your Sampo, Guinaifen, Luka, and serval all up to snuff is in a way sort of needed so you can answer any weakness that relates to DOTS. However you are correct to focus more on Guin and Sampo as they are the best of the 4 star DOT DPS. I would put Guin more over sampo I like her debuff she gives and she is a different element then BlackSwan, So like say I was starting a simulated universe run I would take Black Swan, Guin, a support, and a sustain, and then pick up sampo later. and if the boss doesn't have fire weakness but has wind, just drop guin for sampo. All of this can be ignored if you have Kafka though and you can just run Kafka, Black Swan, Ruan Mei, and HouHou and absolutely demolish everything. but yes that is heavy invesment.
from my calcs so far, space station planar is better since its speed reqs are lower, allowing more subs to atk, and since her teamates can apply arcana, swan wouldn't need the extra actions. from my lc calcs an s5 eyes of the prey is second to her sig because the ehr saves her from needing too much ehr subs, again allowing for more atk subs im not to confident with my calcs tho ;-; (I should not have let my first serious calculations be one of the most complicated characters)
135 speed is still needed imo since you want to apply her def reduction from skill before the enemy detonated, which mean she should be going faster than Kafka.
i got kafka's sig lightcone.. its a hell of a pain to speedtune black swan with her on top of getting her EHR to 120+ lol talk about suffering from success..
I have such a good musketeer (piece with 12 spd for example) and absolutely trash prisoner even in comparison with my other sets... I won't see def shred synergy for the rest of my life to compare on my own
I would have the perfect whale dot team but sadly I don't have Huohuo luckily she is by far the least important component of the team only buffing attack sometimes and giving a bit of energy sometimes which is great but nothing compared to the synergy the other 3 monsters in that team got

Imo Kafka will only be replaced if they release a unit that does the same thing she does but better. The ability to proc dots with skill and ult is too good to pass up
thank you for the no bullshit breakdown. i was expecting her to be underwhelming after all the beta chatter, so, as usual, i'm pleasantly surprised with how she's been performing so far lol can't wait to grind out the game modes and traces to see what she can really do.

I didn't get Kafka or Guinafen even though I tried, my Sampo is e2 & I have a Luka... I don't think its worth getting Black Swan when my roster for her would suck 😭 I do have all the buffers, aka, Ruan Mei, Asta (e4) & Pela (e6) but I also have Jing Liu & IL so perhaps its better for me to pull Sparkle instead? I am a 10 pull away from pity (was trying to get Kafka) so I should be patient now 😔
Mr. Guoba, I somehow managed to get her 150EHR, some said we have to get her 157EHR in order to ensure the chance of applying the Arcana. Honestly I'm not finished yet to build her so Idk how much ATK I could get for her
Great guide : it's pretty complicated to give a good overview of a character as complicated as Black Swan. Still, I think Black Swan as potential in less DoT focused team, for example in Himeko, Hook or Dr Ratio teams (paired with Asta or Guinaifen). Also, i wonder : could Black Swan make CRIT Luka viable (at E6). Snce he is SP neutral or slightly positive (especially with Tutorial LC), you could pair him with a Bronya. That could allow some very eplosive turns, with multiple Arcana detonation in a row... Am i onto something ?
Been playing since release but not a single eyes of the prey :( So I'm rocking with the tutorial lightcone. Honestly I really like DoT teams but maybe because I was blessed by E1 Ruan Mei (Which allows me to have around 50 def ignore on BS), and won 50/50 for all of my Nihility characters 😅, thanks for the guide, yours are the best to me just because of how many details and calculations you add ^^
I lost 5050 on her lightcone. I have a good and bad feeling about this. Either I'll just have complete doodoo pulls or Law of Equivalent Exchange takes places and gives me insane character pulls

On a team with BS, Sampo e4, Mei and an sustainer that is not HuoHuo...how realistic speaking would be beat MoC 12 with wind weakness, and how much investment Sampo would need for that? 🤔 I'm coping that i don't need Kafka, but i also don't want pull to end with an team that doesn't work with end game content lol
I am very tempted to go for her signature LC but i think i will stick with the F2P Its showtime option. I use her in a Ruan Mei/Kafka team anyway so that extra damage from the sig is somewhat diluted. Normally I dont pull lightcones, but this time it just hurts a lot due to the insane sub stat requirements. I can hit 105% without any lightcones and I just feel a bit bad to pull for hers just get some extra effect hit rate. I dont have eyes of the prey, not sure if it would be even better at S1 than showtime at S5 but there shouldnt be a big difference anyway.
I would argue that basic and skill should be upgrade at the same time, you will only use skill for Def shred and use basic to apply more arcana and for SP in a Kafka/Sampo team.
I'm actually a big fan of DoT teams. But looking at my 5* characters so far, Sparke and Fu Xuan would definitely be better additions to my teams. So I'll keep saving up for Sparkle and hope Fu Xuan's rerun comes soon. Since I lost the last 50/50, I will definitely get Sparkle at least!
I don't understand why every TC calc including yours underestimates BS. In practice she's better than 10% in ST and 22% in AoE. It's not even close really.

She basically has one team and I could care less lol. It just does not get more esthetically pleasing to me than Kafka and Black Swan on the same squad. Man, she looks good in game. Her ult is on par with fu xuan for the best in game in my opinion.
Whale Black Swan so take with a grain of salt. Kafka, Black Swan, Ruan Mei, Huo Huo. got to 50 arcana stacks on svarog in pure fiction. 400k Arcana tick. not the pure fiction that increases dot damage either. the old one.

I somehow managed to hit 123% EHR with atk% body and 142 spd. Relic farming is so underwhelming most of the time but sometimes the RNG gods are merciful.
I don't have Kafka, don't really have any DoT teams, but I wonder if I'll shoot myself in the foot if I don't pull for Black Swan if Hoyo will start putting more and more things in like they do in pure fiction now.

Her E1 doesn't do much. It's nowhere near a 25% dmg increase, it's not linear. Just like def shred, you need to stack it, but you can't do that with res shred right now
