Nigel, this is the most beautiful guitar I've heard. Beautiful tone. Magical sustain. And gorgeous craftsmanship.

The best sounding guitar, that I have ever heard!! Your work is masterful! I only wish that I could affordable one. I would have one built with torrified Adirondack Spruce as opposed to Sitka Speuce. A guy can only dream.....

Mesmerizing sound ! Most Beautiful sounding dread I've ever heard. Sad to read your instruments were stolen :( This is my greatest fear in the workshop (this and fire).

This guitar is on another level, in my (quite humble) opinion. What a sound, what a sustain! Was this with solid or laminate back and sides? I saw on your site that you believe the top is the most important element in your guitar designs, and that you like to use laminate back and sides for strength, thickness, and stiffness.

RIght? I have to say, once torrefied, sitka and Adi look the same.

I am consistently impressed by the sound of your instruments, Mr. Forster. Was there anything you approached differently for this build that made it your favorite? Thanks.
@Nkforster
@Nkforster 2 года назад
Yes, and I've repeated it on many instruments since.

@@Nkforster Something you derived from your time studying with Stefan Sobell? A new bracing technique? Any insight for a student luthier? I’m looking forward to picking up one of those semi-hemi wheels in the near future. Thanks.

Aye, I've been using Aussie red cedar for necks lately - I bought a really old piece from a lad. Superb stuff.

Lovely sounding guitars with great miking as well on these videos. May I ask what tuning these pieces are being played on? Is it open D / E or DADGAD? Thanks!

Found it! It's called "Kieran & Amy's Wedding Tune," written by Tom Fletcher. The credit is given in another demo video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BsPV1colOgc.html

@Nkforster

It is a traditional Finnish tune.
@anjarvel
@anjarvel 2 года назад
As Nigel mentioned it is an old Finnish tune from Kuortane called Vasulaisten Poloneesi. It was a celebration melody for a local small group of religious people, Vasulaiset, who were using lots of folk tunes and melodies of folk songs in their ceremonies.
