#1 headshaving razor for me also! Been using for almost a year and immediately did the subscription. These are proudly made in Israel! That country has a great defense system and thought it was cool for them to name the razor Defender. Great review, you covered all points in this product and your voice is very understandable!👊👊
I did some looking into them a bit ago. Looked like a amazing razor. If I ever have to shave the melon I’ll be sure to give them a try. Great video Matt.
I’m new to head shaving as I got tired of my McDonald’s arch hair line. On one of your previous videos you reviewed the head blade and you sold me on it so I ordered it last night. This one looks nice and I wish it came with another curved handle option. Another razor I’m looking at is the Leaf razor. Have you tried that one? I may have to review your video library as I’m late to the game. Thanks for the awesome videos. They really help.
Thanks for watching! I’m currently using the Leaf for an upcoming video. In short, I really like it. Give the HeadBlade a shot, it’s a great razor and perfect for getting into head shaving.
Your regular run of the mill cartridge razors just aren't cutting it for me anymore and I've been thinking of using a saftey razor, now I'm considering these... Might have to try both..
I love a safety razor, it gives me my closest shave but also takes me 3x longer to shave. The Defender is a great razor and is typically my daily driver.
are you shaving every day where did you get that brush “ to froth up” and are you using the defender cream for this vid. Also do you have a container you use to put the cream in before you mix with brush. If so do you have a link for brush and container
@@NoBSBeardReviews thats a great deal! A lot of companies has really expensive international shipping during this world crisis, so its more as a thing so if any international fans know that this is a good freaking deal!!! Great review man!
@@NoBSBeardReviews Wow! These live up to the hype. After about 10 headshaves, I'm amazed how such a simple design and just 3 blades does such a great job. Thanks again for your review!
I see that you reviewed this about a year ago. You also reviewed the Leaf razor about a year ago. So which razor is best in your opinion? Or is the difference negligible?
Idk what im doing wrong, but i dont understand how you could consider this the best razor for shaving your head. I desperately wa ted it to be, but this is the absolute worst shave ever. I've tried cream, foam, and all in one shampoo as a lubricant. All this razor does is pull, tug, and burn up my skin. Im trying to replace my Harry's razor, but its still a better shave than Defender. What am i doing wrong?
Oh man, hate it’s not working for you. I’ve found it works best for me with the sensitive cartridges. I use a utility bar from Beardbrand as my shaving cream. It’s been my daily driver razor for several years now
@@NoBSBeardReviews I was looking at the leaf and was considering getting it and fully loading it for a headshave. I didn't see any complaints about cutting oneself for a headshave please go into greater detail!
@@gary9346 it’s a great razor, just go slow the first few days until you get the hang of it. It took me about two weeks to master it without cutting myself. That was with two blades loaded.
If you are a UK user like myself it is not called Defender but Boldking. Exactly the same razor but the UK version. Been using Boldking around 18 months, it is by far the best razor for head shave
The blade keeps coming off it's horrible. They also dont last or shave as well. The bendable flex part is something that they just copied from schick. I would not recomend it.
Great video! We have been looking for a better razor to shave my head. We use the store bought brand name ones and they always clog up. I figured for $5.95 I would try it out and if it worked I could order some more blades.
didn't you already make a video saying that the leaf razor was the last one you'll ever buy- and how horrible and unsustainable cartridge razors are? and also, why do you own all that shaving supplies when you don't even shave? brushes, scented products, and oils are for your face. You shave hair where a person does want it, the head. and you leave hair where it's dirty and unsightly, your face
Same here. Hot towel in the microwave then conditioner head all over and and go straight in. I found my blades never clog up with conditioner plus no irritations long as I wash my head and moisturise well straight after.
$10 for 4 blades, holy smokes that's expensive. I get 100 blades for $10 with the razor I use now. They last me over a year for $10 ! That is definitely a cool sturdy box it comes in though, very cool. This razor also has a very cool tactical name too !
It's $10 for 4 packs of 4 cartridges, so 16 carts. In the cartridge world, that's a steal compared to what the big names charge. I agree through, you can't beat the price on the single razor blades used in traditional wet shaving.
How often do you shave your head? 3 days of growth? I tried a razor on the scalp for the first time tonight, and it was not a great time. Ended up using my electric razor instead.
This looks great, but I love the oceans and cart razors seem like a waste of plastic. Also I can get 100 blades from Astra for my leaf daily shaver for less than $10. Might grab one of these for travel though.
I’ve tried head blade, DSC and now I must try this one. I’m guessing the single blade gets the hard behind the ear hair and what do you use for like an after shave on your head? I’ve used head blades head lube which isn’t bad and mountaineer brand which is good but leaves a shine.
Both great options. What it comes down to for me is time. I can get the same shave faster with the Defender. It’s been my go to 99% of the time. Now if I have some extra time I do enjoy the Leaf.
@@NoBSBeardReviews I used to have just a goatee. But stopped that about 3 or 4 years ago. I really just use it for those annoying chest hair that want to grow into my beard. Lol.
I just ordered one specifically for head shaving not that long ago. Was gonna get the Leaf but all they have in stock is gold and I’m not *that* pretentious.
Decided to order one, I have the Head Blade but the blades are on the more expensive side. Plus the Head Blade does get clogged a lot which I don't like.
SOLD!!!!! Im doing it! I was reading up on the different type of blades, the Sensitive blade is said to be better for head shaving. But being African American, my hair is a bit more coarse & thick so I'll probably go with the regular! Thanks for this review! I'm definitely giving this razor a shot!!
Just ordered the trial thing today. Looking forward to trying it. Been using Harry's for a while now but they say on their website they aren't designed for shaving your head although I have had no issues
Hey man, this was not a sponsored video. I can tell you that I have used the defender razor only for the last year or so. I purchase new cartridges every 2-3 months.
Looks good man. I’ll give it a whirl! I just recently started shaving my head due to losing most of my hair to chemotherapy. I’ve been using a Harry’s razor which isn’t bad but always on the lookout for something better & after your demo the Defender looks like it’s worth a try. Thanks!
I've used the original Gillette Mach 3 razors for shaving my head and face, for 28 years, but i may have to give this one a try. Ordered the Handle a pack of sensitive blades. Interested to see how they work.
I was NOT expecting that price, I was waiting for you to say it was something like $49.95. I started shaving my head this year to try something different and with this one maybe I'll stop slicing my head open lol. I like that it doesn't clog either, now I might shave outside the shower.
After dealing with my soon to be horseshoe hairline, I gave in and knew it was time to take it all off. I saw this and the head blade. Figured I’d give the headblade a chance cause it was so different. Yeah no. Constant clogs. So I went with your review and ordered the defender. Truly incredible. What a difference. Thank you for this review and all your beard product reviews!
Thanks for the great shave video. I'm a head shaver myself, I usually use DSC razors. But lately I'm not very satisfied with them. I definitely will give the Defender a try. I'm a OTR truck driver so I need a razor that is quick also, not a hour shaving.
Must be nice I’m from Canada 🇨🇦 and to order it for the starter package it was $35.85 then 12.37 shipping to Canada 🇨🇦 basically for a handle the suction cup, and the starter for blades regular it was almost 49 bucks. Gotta love international shipping.
Great shave, I'm not bald but wanted to bald myself with razor, after I buzzed, I'm currently struggling on the middle of the head since I have thick hair, this razor seems to go through thick hair nicely, unfortunately I'm on Mexico so I'll have to stick with regular Gillete razors.
Its now my GoTo razor for head shaves! Before that I used Gillette Mach 3, The Defender does a much more better job than the older Gillette blades. I'm also a subscriber to their products!
Great video. Only a week or so but this razor seems great and does not clog. I was using Harry's for about 5 months (I know they say not to do so) and sliced the biggest chunk of skin off the back of my head I have done in 24 years. Never again with Harry's. It bled like I was shot.
As a newcoming head shaver who is going from long hair (I'm obviously a woman) to a completely bald head simply because I really love the look of a smooth like a baby's butt bald head. this was your recommendation for me getting started & based on your recommendations, I'm definitely going with this. One for my head and one for my legs being a woman. This looks AMAZING & what a deal withthe prices as well - WOW!!! :-)
I have all the mainstream DE razor like hensen, leaf, high proof etc. Not to mentions many cartridge razor. My only and best combo for a fast and bbs head shave is the Defender with DSC shave butter. I use the sensitive blades since I head shave twice a day (morning and night). Using an alum block I can tell I hardly get any sting with the sensitive blade vs the regular blades. Alum or Proraso splash and then a DSC post shave dew is my routine. A blade lasted me about 2 weeks. I am a DE guy but I found it only work on anywhere else beside the dome.
I agree 100%, Matt! I have been using it for about a month now and I absolutely love it!! It never clogs and I love how it hugs the curves and contours of my head. This is definitely the razor I'm using from now on! Glad you agree!
I've used this razor for a few years now. I only use it for my head, it was not good for my face, so I'm using Schick for my face, but the defender is great for my head. Only complaint was the original plastic handle with the hole eventually "stretched" out to the point it would not hold the blade in... had to order a new handle which is more metal now.
I been considering the omnishaver since I've seen many good reviews. I must say you've intrigued me with this one brother. Have you tried omnishaver ? Am I better off with this one ? I have sensitive skin and a bit of CVG unfortunately on my heard. 😭
I have! Here’s my review on the OmniShaver, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BY5WSEluA2s.html I would go with the Defender with their extra sensitive cartridges.
Price aside... Between the Defender and the Leaf, which do you like and prefer the best? I'm assuming the Defender. Which one provides the smoothest shave?
Nice! I thought of you when I tried the extra sensitive razor. Would probably be perfect for the lower back of your head. The company is based out of LA so you should probably receive it pretty quick. 👊🏻
Hey, I'm new to head shaving, what razor do you recommend. I've tried the headblade atx 4blades which I was a fan except for going against the grain, should I try the moto or stay with the atx plus which is better the 4 blades or the 6 blade version? Also I've tried The halftime razor which I wasn't the biggest fan of and just the Gillette fusion which works fine. So what do you think I should try. The Omni shaver or the defender. Thanks again for the knowledge.
I don’t know what the heck of a object you have in your hand but from my experience it’s a bad thing. 😂😂😂 I have went away from those razors 🪒 and went to straight blade and it work way better. But thank you for the review. 👍🏾
Just seeing this video. Wanted to ask is this still the best head shaving razor in your opinion or do you have one that's better? Love the video's! Thanks!
👀 I've had my eyes on these for a while. 💪 That flex! Jonnie Grooms is a must sub, that's where I heard of the defender first as well. Nice of you to shout him out 👊
Hey Matt, I love your videos! Can you share where you got your racks displaying your beard products? (My profile photo is very old and I do actually have a beard, lol).
Matt, just recently started shaving my head about 3 months ago because of covid. Glad i saw this...paused it a ordered it right away. Thanks for the recommendation
