What you did was just a short walk! If you want to really see this area then do the full Milford track walk from Te Anau. It is mind boggling! I am just a "dumb" aussie who the full track and I was amazed.

Your bird is a weka. We stayed at a place on the west coast that had a resident weka who loved banana. I called her Stella!

You just have to excessively spray bug repellent *everywhere* - shut your eyes and plaster it on. You're probably more likely right about King Kong - I could be wrong, but I know Peter Jackson (Kiwi) filmed King Kong, so some of it may have been filmed here. Jurassic Park just had Kiwi actor Sam Niell, but was filmed in Hawaii (I've done a horse trek there - stunning!) 😂

Just letting you know don't do any mountain scenes because our mountains are active and you might end up at the wrong place at the wrong time. Already had some people from all over the world and including people from New Zealand were killed because of Rangers bad judgement. Otherwise I love your videos.
