The best hiking and walking boot is subjective, but when it comes to hiking for beginners, if you follow this basic rule then you’ll get the best hiking boot for men and for women. A B1 boot is the best walking, hiking and mountaineering boot because it can do it all, and modern B1 boots are ultralight hiking gear at its very best. You've got a great intro video, was hoping it would go on for longer lol. Also a decent review but the background noise of the cars was highly distracting.I know the vid is 2 yrs old but a new B2 boot worth checking out is the La Sportiva A equilibrium, looks amazing from the reviews I've read, probably my next mountain boot after I wear my current ones out.Probably worth a review if you're inclined.

I bought my first boots and its one ms crow gtx. I buy for long walks (6 hours in maximum) and to walk in Stones? I madeira a good buy ??

Looking to purchase either a La Sportiva Nucleo High II GTX or an Asolo Fugitive GTX. Not sure which would be the best bang for the buck though.

I love the content in the video. But the noise is terrible. I believe that this can be fixed with any noise filter after the recording.

I wear the crow for work. And the rapace for hiking. Both are amazing, but I feel like the crow is a tougher boot all around. A little stiffer and the materials and build quality are almost unbelievably good.

I got them mainly as they were on sale, and I wanted a light b2/stiff b1 boot for general use, and really impressed by the build quality and comfort of Salewa! Barely a mark on them after 2 years of fairly regular use!

@@mudbuddies1068 hey, I'm relatively wide in my fiiting usually and they fit me pretty well, so I'd say wide ish. I'm also a 10 in normal footwear and wear a 10 in these so pretty true to size. If the Salewas were my main winter boot I'd size up half a size, but as they're my general all round boot I got the size 10 at a really good sale price and they've fitted well for mountain days in the spring, summer and autumn. I did wear them on a long winter day recently too with no real issues of rubbing.

Yeah you're right, it was a windy day and I didn't realise just how loud the wind would be in the trees! The GoPro actually has a surprisingly good mic, but not in the wind..!

What do you use for scrambling? Trying to decide what to replace my Trango S Evo gtx with. I like look of Boulder x mid but not sure what they'd be like on grass etc. And suspect they wouldn't be the hardest wearing. Sounds like something like your Salewa would be decent?

Tbh I just use trail running trainers with good grip for dry summer scrambling, and my Salewas for anything with damp rock or higher grade routes where harder edges might be needed. Some approach shoes are notorious for being slippy on anything but rock, so I'm always a wee bit wary of approach shoes.

What winter grade would you think the limit is for the Crows with C2s?

Hey, I'd probably say grade IV is about the limit for any b2 boot, especially these ones which are fairly lightweight b2's. The guy who led me on my first grade V was wearing b2 boots and Grivel G12's, but he did say stiffer boots and monopoint crampons would've helped a lot, and his boots were at their absolute limit.

Hey, I got my usual shoe size of 10 and they fit fine. If they were my primary winter boots I'd definitely go up half a size or a full size, as mine do feel a bit snug with two pairs of socks on!
