Can there be Shemaghs that are made cheap or are there really good Shemagh out there. Well I was very surprised and happy I found these Shemagh. Purchase your Shemagh geni.us/6AgA1 #backpacking #camping #reviews
It really is the best they don't call it premium for nothing. it goes by many names keffiyeh, kufiya, hatta and shemagh which is a Jordanian term. I got the original one black on white, I've had mine since Christmas and I have used it every day and don't leave the house without it. It has kept me warm in the snow and the cold weather, kept my head dry in the rain and is now keeping me cool in the heat and providing shade. It does hold up very well as long as you care for it I think it could last a lifetime, I hand wash and hang dry. its twice the price of a Chinese one but the quality reflects the price. by the way if you didn't know already the Amazon seller that sells the hirbawi keffiyeh has your video posted on the purchasing page of this keffiyeh.
I love this item. I bought 3 more colors after I made that video. I keep one in my truck all the time. I mainly use them for backpacking myself. I am so happy I found this company. Thx for watching
I've been looking for an original kufiya for a while, and didn't want to buy a chinese, unbraded and poor quality one, but when I read the brand you mentioned (Hirbawi), I looked it up and bought one right away, I didn't mind the price. It's on it's way right now. Thank you both.
tank762kgb I prefer the cheap ones from India you get on eBay. I wasn't impressed with my hirbawi (black and gray) as it doesn't keep my neck as cold for as long as one from India does. So I'll use the hirbawi for winter but not summer.
i guess im randomly asking but does anyone know of a method to log back into an instagram account? I was dumb lost the password. I love any tips you can give me.
I have one too. It sings quality, fits better, looks better and will, as you say, last a very long time. I am planning a second purchase as it will soon be winter and i hate the cold weather. A warm garment is worth the price every time we wear it ! Nice Vid !!
Hey Everyone, since the creation of this video. More color choices are available. However demand for this brand has gone through the roof for obvious reasons. Needless to say, the quality shows!
Woo got to go pick one up, just bought some shemaghs and well the quality is ok, but see that the keffiyeh is more of an indoor and outdoor use so the quality is way better.
I recently bought one. Not knowing much about them. Made n china. Rinsed it n cold water, a yellow dye came out even after 5 rinseses. Is that typical?
My first purchase for 1/1/2021 was original shemagh I’m waiting on it as we speak I’ll do a video once I get mine and composite to the cheaper tactical shemagh I was getting from the USA surplus store
My Shemagh is a Rothco and I like the quality well enough. I hope to get a OG Palestinian one because they seem like the very best in quality and can last a lifetime. Cheers.
you said most shemaghs are 42", in fact, the tactical version mostly is 42", because is ment to go around your neck as military fashion, since is cheaper to produce a shorter rag for what you want to use it for, since the real ones are 55"x55" to fit the real purposes, which are far away from tactical uses!
Good to know. I suppose most out there are junk. Seems it takes forever to find the good products any more. I own 7 of these now and love them. I use them for hiking when I am doing photography in the summer for wiping the sweat.
@@SurvivalSavvvy Yes! tactical ones are a great tool!, now if you check the real ones you'll find there are all manners of wearing them!; in fact it is used in official ceremonies, prime minister reunions, etc!
Is that a Suunto Vector I see on your wrist? Slick watch for it's time and still a solid timepiece today. Great video, thanks for reviewing one of the few original middle-east garment companies left selling to the entire world.
I just bought two for my wife and me from the ”official” factory. I knew they were limited due to the virus, even to the point of fining those who don't wear cloth masks out. So to me the desert scarf sounded fun and practical, as my wife is Persian. For me, being a white guy it may look a little funny. I know the traditional black and white is known as a Arab resistance fighter against what they believe is Israeli oppression. I am not educated enough to know or to be honest, to care about their struggle. I just like the scarf. So I have a black and white cheapy from China and an official one from the factory. So we'll see how it compares. I just don't know if they're good in the heat as I live in a high desert. Similar to Arabic climates. So we will see. Update: I have a shemagh from Palestinian from the last factory as they claim. It is a beautiful piece of art, but functionality compared to a $13 100% eBay one made in India? That's debatable. I've used a hirbawi scarf and my eBay one and to be honest I found myself wearing the cheap one more because it stores cold water around my neck on a hot day a lot better than the Hirbawi did. So when winter arrives I will use the Hirbawi one for that, but on hot days I will stick to the eBay ones from India. Also, I don't like how the hirbawi has the pattern only on one side, whereas the other side is muted or plain.
The Kuffiyeh is a head-scarf-like article originally worn by farmers and travellers in the Middle East. Different designs span across different places, but the Palestinian design boomed in popularity because of the symbolism behind it. When Jewish extremists who labelled themselves as “Israeli” began their genocide and colonisation of Palestine, the kuffiyeh was pretty much the last symbol that remained. To many people, the kuffiyeh symbolises hope, and peace. It is a reminder of what was, before the massacres and slaughter. It is a reminder that once upon a time they were free, and once upon the future they will be free once more. Across the Middle East it is and always will be a symbol of resistance to those who oppress us. You don’t need to agree with me, I just thought it fit that you know what you represent.
I bought a black kufiya from the Hirbawi web site. The one I received was thin enough to see through , and has a number of pulled threads. I live in the UK so mine came from a warehouse in Germany, whether the quality is different for other markets I don't know . I also noticed yours had a label on one edge, mine did not . Do you know if they all have a label to show they are genuine ? ATB Chris.
Sounds like your got a scammer. I see a lot of that going on with products any more. I got mine from Amazon. I provided a link to the one I bought and from that seller.
@@AlexKS1992 That was my initial thought, but this is the official site. I am in contact with the seller at the moment ,with the explanation that I may have received a faulty item . Will keep you informed of my progress. ATB Chris.
I have 8 shemaghs. 4 hirbawi and 4 other stuff. The weird thing is that the threads in the hirbawis are pullen out more often than in the cheaper ones!can somebody explain me that?
Secret Stuff ™ Same here, But that kafeya you bought is the best money can buy. Waiting on my to show up. Really enjoyed the video. Cant wait to wear mine. Never knew it had so many uses.
I wonder if rain or washing has degraded your original garment OR if there is sizing / starch in the new one making it feel more durable? Everything is thicker and stronger when new . . . So it would be expected to get worn out if it is used to wipe gun sights, filter water, constantly being tied into knots, machine washed, etc. If you ever care to, add an Update Edit to the description and let your viewers now how it is working out. 👳 Thanx for your take and insights on the shemagh. Take Good Care.
All I ever use mine for is wiping my face and wiping the sweat from myself. This new one still looks as good as the day I bought it. I wash all shemagh by hand and never with a machine or you will damage them
This Nigga has the same one that I have, that's dope af because this is my first one and idk if it was good or not. I'm going to get a couple of these now 👍🏼
Go question Moe. You can filter water, Keep the bugs off your face, Wipe the sweat from your head, Place them on wounds and so so much more. There really is 101 uses with having these. I use them all the time
What color is this shemagh? I ordered one from this company. (Coffee). Should get it next week. Don't buy Chinese people. They are cheap and don't last.
@@robertdavidson4759 Yes I live in USA. According to the 2000 United States Census, there were 72,112 people of Palestinian ancestry living in the United States, increasing to 85,186 by the 2009-2013 American Community Survey. So are you saying.... Over 85000 want to cut peoples heads off? They do make one heck of shemagh I will tell you that. I am still using it to this day.
@@robertdavidson4759 For what it's worth, I'm an American who has traveled across Palestine and nobody cut my head off. In fact, three people in Ramallah offered me a place to stay for the night. They are the most kind and generous people I've ever met. The stereotypes couldn't be further from the truth.
