Bravery is a thing. You are calming your horse wrong. If you are using a controller, hold the thumb stick down, don’t click/tap it. Horses will spook when you click it over and over, so HOLD it down. The mustang out performs, even amongst legendary animals. Again… Hold the calm button down. Don’t click it, and don’t release it AT ALL. It works.
Also do this when summoning your wagons. And remember to be on a marked road. Shoot near the horse to make it actually flee when it is stuck. This is so annoying during the bounty missions in uneven terrain.
If they gave us infinite stables I'd probably own every horse. I love all their individual looks and traits. Even the plain ones perform fine enough to use.
No doubt about it, those Mustangs are just the best bang for your buck & they look very nice too imo. The Chestnut Tovero in particular is still overally my favourite horse in the game.
yea, I just wished the wild bay mustang would have the same stats as the new ones. It was the first horse I bought back in the day after my starter horse and it still is my favorite coat.
bought that horse a while back just because i needed sum better than the free thoroughbred until i could get sum better and i will keep this horse forever
My favorite horse used to be my Breton. Perfect bounty hunting horse (in fact, it WAS a bounty hunting horse. Came with the bounty hunting update). It never ran from gunfire unless it took too much damage, of course. I used him for resupply missions for moonshine, Cripps Trading, bounty hunting, etc. After the Wildlife update (the one with the legendary animals and Harriet, I forget it’s official name), that horse, which I had used for countless missions, had its behavior totally changed. I know it, cuz I used to be able to get a supply bag on his back during a shootout almost every time. Now? Never. He ALWAYS runs as soon as reinforcements arrive and start shooting. It’s even worse for bounties, which have even more gunmen. I’d be chasing that horse with a bounty on my shoulder for a mile, lol. Rockstar busted my favorite horse. Something about the Harriet update completely changed his personality. They never addressed it
See that type of redundant and gameplay changing shit 1. Is retarded cuz it’s like you said a bounty hunting horse tf And 2. I honestly think it’s because R* wants us to grind and die/lose more money etc. (in game, not actually die 😅)
Love my silver Kladruber! Not the fastest, but he can run forever, won't immediately buck me off around predators, and is an absolute tank in gunfights. Plus Kladrubers just look so cool! The convex face profile is super unique, and I love the bigger, thicker horses, which the Klad is without being _too_ thick. But the Norfolk Roadster is my second favorite. Although not the tallest, it's also a thicker horse, is the fastest in game, and i am one who still believes in the elusive "bravery stat" based on my own experiences, and my Roadsters are always my bravest horses. Shout out to Criollos and Mustangs though, also really great horses if you don't mind them being on the smaller side. They're zippy and have lots of nice colors.
So I recently made a second account to play as a girl on rdo. Because my male character looks too silly on smaller horses imo but again, imo, the ladies in game seem to fit the smaller horses better. Less... 'Chunky human ignoring the modern day 20% weight rule for horses' .. 😂 Saw a female character on a Shire the other day though. I had to double look to realise how small the females looked for a Shire. That is a downside if size bothers people. (I just notice it then can't in notice it with my ADHD brain.) Happy readdeading 🔫🤠
Did multiple tests too. Agreed with everything that said. Came to conclusion that the reason arabian feels faster is because it is small. So that animations are shorter and faster. Morgan breed feels the same. But i like that feeling, so arabian is my choice anyway. Also it feels like arabian is more agile in dodging trees while sprinting through dense forests. But this claim needs testing. Choose any horse you like and you’ll be happy. Some people don’t like arabians cause they are small, but im ok with that. I also like turkomans.
@@adsgthkl maybe. From my point of view handling is when you manually dodging the trees. I talked about horse dodging trees automatically. But it may be same things called handling.
Can confirm what you said here about the speed. I did a test between the fastest horse with race handling (the free thoroughbred) and the cheapest horse with the lowest speed. Both with Nacodoches saddles and hooded stirrups. Basically used the biggest by-road racing test: from the house at Brandywine Drop to the back end of Gaptooth Breach. Did this also during the day due to the lower chance of wolves appearing. The time difference was close to 20 seconds from start to finish, and that is without leaving the road (meaning no shortcuts).
@@adsgthkl If it was an actual race, then yes it does make a big difference. But I'm talking no fast traveling full sprint from one end of the map to the other end. Slow horse or fast, doesn't matter. Can be done within 18 minutes.
I noticed my mustang had a full circle around both of its cores and i was wondering why my other horses (Turkoman and Shire) didn’t even at the max bonding level. Extremely broken lol great vid.
For me most important stat is health. After that is looks. As long as the stirrups glitch exists and stamina having no impact at all, I think the Turkoman is the best horse. Mustang is too small for my taste.
Tutorial...I take the Morgan. Then, I buy a buckskin Mustang later. In the light during the rain, she shines like gold. After that...I dunno. Never bought a third horse.
I know waste of money but I have my first Kentucky Saddler, Missouri Fox trotter, Turkoman and New addition a nice Breton! Will get probably Mustang next. I'm not a long time player so it's a pure waste of money but that's how I like playing 😊
Fantastic video as always! And i love that you always do a refresh on these videos coz a lot of new players will come across them snd they ste verg helpful compared to some of the other videos they will encounter that just go with the in game stats.
I've started the game over since I got my PS5 and am just working up to get £1000 (and something can't remember) to get one of the new Fox horses as they are my fav and I've never had any problems with them being slow when I used to play on my PS4 account, I never got a horse for gold, I found it to be a waste. but I also guess it just goes on the player as well and how they mash their buttons and turn lol
The rank 20 Gypsy Cob ( black and white one ) and the rank 20 Breton ( the steel grey one ) my two Favourite horses to use by far. Can run forever as long as you tap the analogue stick every 10 seconds or so. I don't run the Nochadochis saddle cause I personally think it's ugly as hell, however the black bounty hunter saddle that you get towards rank 20 I think? It goes with any horse, and I like to use the collector's saddle to have 7 outfits on my horse
Completely with you on the Nacogdoches saddle, I hate it... haven't bought a single one on my secondary character...all my horses have the Delgado BH saddle and I've got a cougar clelland as well...always with the Collector saddlebags, why I'm not sure as my secondary character (male) is always topless and wears the same trousers 😂 But yes I don't find the saddles terribly worse than Nacogdoches and they look so much nicer
I’m late, but I appreciate that you did the bravery test on the horses. Although I’m still convinced there is in some ways it’s applicable online compared to the Murfree horses in story, but I guess it’s not the case. I was considering buying the Strawberry Ardennes and name him Heracles, but bravery Online has me doubting getting him as the last two horses for my Stables.
“Not imaginary parameters” 🐴😆 I LOVE the Turkomans & the Black Chestnut I got from the ultimate edition 🐎 (which I was able to get for $30 last Black Friday 🥳)
The best food is wild carrots because they're free. And each breed has a different bonding amount to level up. More expensive horses take much longer to bond.
Once you have the nagodaches saddle, the stamina level is largely irrelevant and the only thing that matters is health, I guess. My golden Turkoman is a lovely little tank.
In my personal opinion it is the breten you get from rank 20 in the bounty hunter role. With the nacogdoches saddle and hooded spurs and max bonding. Edit: it takes a long time to get the horse but it is by far the best horse in the game and if you look at the stats between the horse and the equipment you can easily tell its the best horse in the game
Spotted tri colour norfolk roadster.. I've had every horse there is and always go back to my roadster. Turks are good too. Best cheaper ones are mustang and nakota
Back a couple years ago I bought the mustang and I was like damn I just liked the look of the chestnut one but this horse is pretty good. Told all my friends about it and actually convinced one of them to get one. We then found the upland saddle and it pretty much never runs out of stamina but now that I know there is a better one ima one up em. It has been my horse to this day. Also I feel like the bravery is a thing because one of my friends has a black Arabian and it runs and bucks him off all the time but my mustang and my other friends mustang never bucks us off, I don’t think it ever has actually even if I stand right next to a gator for like a whole minute. Plus it runs off cliffs all the time. Guess I can’t deny the tests though.
I personally like the look of the breton, but everyone says to only buy the rank 20 variant, which is a heck of a grind (but I unexpectedly love bounty missions). I mostly want a horse that doesn't die after stubbing its hoof on a rock. 😂 So for me health is the most important stat right now. Definitely looking into getting a mustang.
mustangs are awesome! i used mine for over 100 ranks until i decided to swap to the MFT for a nice change of pace. i'll always call for my mustang for on-horse combat though 🤘🏼😎
The Peanut Butter Colored Mustang is the Best Overall Horse to me, its Faster than all my Friends horse and has great stamina, only downside is that its Skiddish when it hears shots
Are we sure bravery doesn’t exist? The Arabians always run away the second something gets near them or when a gunshot goes off but any larger horse won’t run off
Can also confirm the points on speed and stamina 😅 with the starter horse I can go toe to toe with other horses in the races and based on terrain knowledge can beat other horses like mft and Arabians or mustangs to targets. Also so many claim the Arabian to be a spaz but I can manage mine just fine - or any of my others. It is about timing. I've run down and through many predators (gators, bears, cougars, wolves ) if I'm spot on it generally goes well... if not I'm trying not to be lunch. All else fails go for slow and steady when hunting That said I've also had some really glitch horses in both directions: the ones that seem 'brave' to the ones that seem permanently spooked. Generally I discard the perma spooks if not resolved after a game reload or 2. (Thus I don't buy the ones that cost gold) Wish there was a bravery stat tied to bonding tho.
I went through practically all the horses and found that they're all indeed similar, aside from the Arabian's nimbleness. I love tearing through St. Denis and the forests with that horse. I just got rid of the last horse, a Breton, and bought a backup Arabian to keep in that empty stall because all the other horses feel clumsy, as in cumbersome. Like a foreign sports car, sometimes it's not a status nor speed thing; it just handles like a dream!
Everything requires ranking up and money or gold to buy. The way they make $$$ thru marketing. I grind on blood money to get xp, money and gold first as i only started 3 days ago playing online. Then when get to level 24 buy the crickets so I can farm on double price on fish to get money (by the beach in Rhode where the campsite in RDR2 chapter 3, smallmouth bass, steelhead trout, blue gill, pickerels and redfin, rock bass). I try to max out each time with 10 fish of each before selling them). I bought the mustang for about $250 and it is way better than the Tennessee walker they gave out for free as the original horse. For beginners, they try to "discourage" and frustrate you so you jump the gun and spend your hard earned money...lol
I own Black Arabian and Chocolate Roan. Arabian does seem faster but definitely more skittish. Will check out the mustang and I admit the Arabian is a bit smaller than the Roan.
I bought the black Arabian just so I can say I had it. Never used it again after the first run. I can't even say it's reached bonding level 1 yet and I've had it for over a year. I just like the bigger bulkier horses. The Arabian looks so tiny next to the Breton and Gypsy Cob
@@HoldFxXxingStill I’ve been using the Turkoman Chocolate Roan exclusively since I bought it. Arabian just sits in the stable. I like the beefy-ness of the Roan. How’s the Cob? They have a good look to them.
@@marileeconner1352 the splashed piebald Rank 20 horse visually is my favourite, because of the black and white, I named the horse anti venom ( corny I know )😅 every time I stand next to mate online I make them feel small with their horse cause they thicc like Nicky Minaj in the rear. The thing I like most about the Gypsy Cob is the extra hair around the feet, the bulkiness of the horse and the hair doesn't need to be changed, it's got black and white long hair on the tail and mane, and looks good with the upgraded upland saddle. I always use the upland saddle and hooded stirrups, they work just as well as the Nochadochis and again visually, it's more appealing. When I was a low level I too was running the Turk, it's a really good horse until you rank up and unlock more. I still have my Turk in the stables because I like to remember where I came from, I'm nostalgic like that
My red horse is the best the Arabian it may be crap but with the upgraded tac it’s pretty good also it wast first horse in the online mode so I’m partial to it
I have heard that if you use the bounty hunter rings you get a 10% increase to fist fighting. And if you use wrist bands you get 5% increase to blocking. Is there any merit to any of these things?
The horse in the thumbnail is my girl. I haven’t been on online in awhile, but I remember my fav girl. I named her Lagertha. Also own that beautiful blue/gray MFT, hate that horse. For whatever reason he crashed CONSTANTLY.
Please can you tell me the names of all the smallest horses ? because they are the most beautiful - by being small they lo0k really well - and they dont make you lo0k like a little parazite on theyr back - is so much ridiculous
I really want that white horse for the end of Naturalist role but it takes so long to max out XP for that role. I maxed out all other roles years ago, but still clinging at level 12 for Naturalist. I always grinded it for a little bit and then stopped, I still do the legendary animals for trader goods and still try to complete the Naturalist book, but still it’s taking forever to get to rank 20, any tips?
I'm curious how many characters you've made. I just made my fourth after not playing for almost a year. Only way to get that sense of accomplishment back 😂😂😢
The difference in experienced "Bravery" is in the breads War/Work/race as in War bread is less sensitive to gunfire but still skidish in other things turkoman for example is War/race so it doses well in a gun fight but is still abit skidish due to its race attribute and the real difference you see in how fast they calm whit out player input and how fast they return when spooked depending on what spooked em, combo breads have better temperament overall and race trait is the most easily spooked and bonding LvL mitigates...
Bravery is not a thing ? Just cause you couldn’t find any data about it ? Guys I would not take advice from someone who only got 4K in the bank and 50 gold and spend most his time playing just running left and right with a metal detector in hands … Bravery is absolutely a thing and once you trade your Arabian for a Breton you will notice it under a minute.
More stables and outfit storages would really increase the player base, and extra income from a business perspective. You give us the ability to buy and keep everything, we’ll buy everything. GTA you can have 100’s of cars and 20 different saved outfits , which I do, and still have cash to spend, and do in fact spend when new stuff comes out. I wish they didn’t abandon RD2O , it has so much potential 😓
I've owned around 700 horses by now (I know shame on me, I blame the limited stable space) and pretty much every saddle. I learned that if you know how to ride which horse you're good with any (handling, how to look at their health&stamina etc.). After my nacadoches on "best horse" phase I'm now happily using saddles that truly look like a cowboy saddle and dressing the part too, so much more fun and immersive. I love that the new mustangs are giving the mustang breed more love tbh. Just have fun with the game and the pretty horsies
RockStar Games really missed the mark by not allowing us the look we want in our saddles. Just set fees to upgrade the stats on whichever saddle look you want, similar to purchasing new stalls.
The lack of bravery attribute is so interesting to me. That even without coding in a specific bravery trait, the game just sort of *manifests* this behavior in your horse. Like with 5-6 defined horse attributes, and 4-5 other variables (bonding lvl; cleanliness; timing; etc.) the game designers didn't have to code a bravery trait; the behavior happens at random based on the combination of these other inputs and they don't need to write the parameters for it. Almost like sentient AI that decides when it does or does not want to buck you.
@@TheAverageGamer1who the F saying shires are brave in the first place? It’s a Fn draft horse! Now if ur saying Kladruber bucks you off as much as Arabian? Then ur game is broken or you smoking some budget products 😂
I used to use the Mustang horse like the one on the thumbnail but I bought a Leopard Appaloosa for 18 gold (I think that was the price but it's been a while) because it's my favorite looking horse in the game
As an RDO noob who bought the game a month ago, I've been using the Thoroughbred they give you when you buy the Ultimate Edition. It doesn't have max health or max stamina at Lvl 4 Bonding but it's close enough for me. The Speed stat has max bars too with the Nacogdoches saddle and Hooded Stirrups. Ik this doesnt necessarily matter but I like having the stat bars high
@@DonDeLem oh nice! Didnt meant to sound rude lol i have that same horse from ultimate edition and its a gorgeous horse but not very useful. The mustang Will absolutely tear it up onroad or offroad no matter how much cargo its holding 😁👍🏽 Mustang is pretty much the perfect horse.
@@kriskater - I agree. Mustang with full bars at Lvl 4 Bonding is just too good. Doesn't get Elite handling but I'm not too sure if there's really a difference
May I suggest testing the speeds on train tracks next time. Besides not having to move around wagons, if you keep the horse in between the lines you remove the variable of turning differences and will get a more accurate speed test in general considering the horses will be on the exact same route and not weaving on a wider road.
Great timing with the video cat. I’m fed up with my Turkaman it falls over the smallest things. I would have sent it to the glue factory if I could have. Plus it throws me off at the slightest site of a predator
My Turk is either super brave, trampling wolves and being a badass, or super skiddish and bucks me at the sight of a rattlesnake 😂 still love him though
Always good to see the Mustang get love...my fave horse in the game 💜 Mind, I got the black Tovero for my secondary character (paid gold) because an old posse member had one that was lovely, but I really don't like it 😭 Should have gone with the trusty busckskin or Red dun Overo I've got on my OG character
Before entering your moonshine shack make sure you make your horse flee also!!! There is a bug that will make your horse disappear and it will not spawn when you leave your moonshine shack.
Bro thank you! I was wondering why I could see my horse but it wasn’t on the map and I couldn’t kill it to respawn it. Sometimes I’ll be doing bounty’s and my horse ain’t even hearing my whistles 😭😂
I believe you about the speed stats, but I was being chased by a posse of like 5 griefers once when I was just collecting stuff for money, and they absolutely got blitzed by my black Arabian, since then it's been one of my mains but idk MFTs just have a special place in my heart.. the dapple gray and amber champagne 😍
Horse bravery was something touched on in the story mode. The more bonded the less likely your horse was to flee. It wasn’t called bravery or anything like that lol just “bonding” and doesn’t actually effect wether it flees or not but rather wether your horse bucks you fast, or takes a while to buck you when predators or gunshots are scaring/harming it! Hope that information helps explain the whole claim that “bravery” is a hidden thing! It’s not, but nor is it actually bravery lmao it’s just how well your horse trusts you which is the even same across all horses per each level of horse bonding!
I've basically had and tested them all including the black Arabian which I still own named "Mustafa", but all in all my Strawberry Roan (Freya) with those thick legs and haunches she goes great with my viking-esque character style lol Also would like to give my buckskin mustang "Cochise" a special mention as he definitely seems to be the most fearless in regard to gunfire and predators
Wish that bravery was a real parameter, but all horses have 1 at the start. Bonding increases it, and the more bonding you have it has more of a feeling like “Oh, I love this owner, I must get him to safety, no matter if I die!” as if the horse could talk.
I'm loving my Kladruber with the Nacodoches saddles and hooded stirrups. I feel like I can almost sprint across nearly the whole map without running out of Stamina. I always feed my horse wild carrots. They are free and all over the place near my trader camp in Scarlett Meadows, right across the road from Emerald Ranch. There are even more that grow in Heartland Overflow. (And quite a lot of Wild Mint, too.) It's also my favorite hunting spot for ducks and geese. My Moonshine shack is in the very northern part of Lemoyne, so only about a 30 second ride.
