I assume you did not take a cruise? We are thinking of only staying on land; Luxor, Aswan and Abu Simbel. My father visited in the 1930s and my mother in 1950. I have pictures.Cruises on the nicer ships are very expensive and quite frankly not so sure it's worth it.
