Formex has a quick release strap mechanism on their new Essence 39mm. Maybe other models of theirs as well, but definitely on that.

Also, I am hearing that RGM is one of the best independent watch makers in the U.S. which has created its own in house movement and is very cutting edge with its cases.

Hi guys nice to see you together again. Nice Panerai Jason; I bought the same one , ( box no papers) through a watch dealer in Italy a while back. When I took it in to a Panerai boutique for a service they told me they had to replace the hands as they could not fit the old ones back due to some technical issue. Is that possible or do I smell bull#*it? Will having new hands affect the value of the watch substantially , or will it be minimal since it is a Panerai and not a vintage Rolex? Another thing I wanted to mention : I bought the OEM rubber strap with both the deployant clasp and the titanium buckle and while the rubber strap is great the buckles are both absolute rubbish. The edges are sharp and poorly machined and dig into your wrist . For the money they charge for the strap and buckles Panerai should be ashamed to put out rubbish quality like that. I am going to sell one of them and buy a Rubber B strap instead.

I would suspect that that’s the truth , if the hands are removed more than once sometimes they can warp. I think rubber b or custom straps are a great option! Text me and we can discuss further! Thanks for the support

How exactly is Grand Seiko independent, owned by Seiko Holdings, owned by Seiko Group (which also owns Seiko Epson and Seiko instruments, etc.). I thought you started the show by saying that you were looking for brands not owned by a huge conglomerate? Spring Drive is cheaper than Hi-Beat. Spring Drive starts at about $4k, Hi-Beat at $6k.

Good morning, I would say my opinion on this is that the entire point of the re-branding and separating Grand Seiko from the Seiko nameplate several years ago was that GS was given the capacity to operate as an independent company. Great catch I did mix the two movements up in my head during the show ! All the best -J

I shall use this comment section to make three comments: 3. If Grand Seiko is an independent, so is Rolex. You can find Rolex models for less than 10k. 2. I am pleased to learn that you can find a Moser for less than 10k! I was under the impression that you had to fork out almost twice that to get a used one. 1. You forgot to mention Habring2! They make great watches, both under and over 10k. Their yearly production number is around 200 watches. I haven't seen any good deals on Habring2 for a good while. Does that mean that the second hand values have increased, or do the sellers just have unrealistic expectations?

I have the Snowflake. I wear it everyday. I have much more expensive watches, nothing is as comfortable. Congrats on the baby. That hardened steel is amazing. I’ve seen a comparison with a Rolex. The Rolex was easy to scratch. The Sinn was virtually unscratchable.

Well, i saw the entire episode and everyone has different taste. Honestly i liked almost all watches on the show except maybe couple. But in general i really dislike Seiko and GS. If i have to put such ugliness on my wrist someone should pay me a lot :) But of course...it is a personal taste.
