One way i improved this build was by adding 3 more hoppers to collect iron on the edges of the campfires , this means you wont lose iron by it being caught on the edge of the campfire
few tips for if it’s not working: 1. Like he said, the farm needs to be 150+ blocks away from any VILLAGER. if it’s not working look to see if any villagers are roaming near and kill em. the farm can be near a village as long as all the villagers and profession blocks are gone 2. make sure there’s no green villagers in your farm, kill them if there are they’re useless 3. check to see if golem are spawning on the ground if you might’ve not built it high enough, if they are just place leaves over the entire ground to stop golem spawns there. you can’t stop the string and roses from dropping but if you want you can easily make an item sorter with a dripper hooked up to a block of lava that burns everything but the iron, and then with the new crafting block you can use that to convert the iron into blocks to save space and time
False, this farm doesn't work. Hasn't worked since either 1.18 or 1.19. I'm 100 blocks in the air above an ocean AND 1000 blocks away from any villager. Left it up for over 24 hours just to see if I'm crazy, and not a single iron golem
Made this today 8/11/2024 and it works, although I did not get the advertised rates after an hour of AFK. -just over 3 stacks of ingots, 5 pieces of string, and just under a stack of roses Overall, quick and easy way to set up an iron farm. A few tips: -put extra hoppers in front of the campfires to catch any stray ingots/cats -to get villagers easy up high, I put them on a boat, Lead attached the boat, went up scaffolding, drove the boat into the area -watch for iron golems that accidently fall off the platform during building. you'll have to kill them to get the two golem spawning. recommend using a bow/arrrow from your higher vantage point from the scaffolding.
if your iron golems are spawning outside of the kill box, build a slabbed area underneath and a large area surrounding the iron farm (10x10, since farm itself is 9x9)
Just to clear things up for people from what I’ve seen from the comments. 1. Does work if you follow the steps he does. Just pause the video or go back, doesn’t hurt anyone. 2. Does work at night, seen a few comments saying it doesn’t. 3. Use minecarts to get those villagers in the cubby hole thing. My water elevator let me down. 4. (Edit because it just happen) Sometimes you gotta jump down into the pit and grab the iron but I got a stack before I had to do it. You can just climb back out easy That’s all, y’all have a good day and fun time building!
Thanks the farm actually worked and was actually really helpful! if you are planning on afking one huge thing you can do is to tame the cat's that are spawning while you're building the farm and just sit next to them because cats will scare off phantoms.
@@rattlynanimations7694 I took them outside of the area where I afk'd in. I built a base around the farm with slabs since I built it above a sea, so I could have easier access to the farm.
Tried two different iron farms before and they didn’t work so I wanted to try again and your farm worked for me!! Had to destroy the campfires bc the iron wasn’t entering the hoppers but it still works great! Definitely gonna build in my survival world!
you should really do this in survival instead of creative so you can show how to build it without having the privilege of flying around edit: stop giving me advice on how to do this in survival lmao im good im just saying for a tutorial video you should be covering all bases
If you made correctly then your golems are spawning outside the farm. Slabs 6-7 blocks out from the bottom of the farm in all directions will spawn proof it. Double check under neath your farm if you didn’t make it high enough they are spawning underground
@@Jakg8484 i made it the same height he did. i found a huge cave under my farm i slabbed it all up and put torches everywhere. ima slab around the ground where the farm is too
At first it didnt worked for me but in a moment of frustration i killed two villagers and TWO golems spawned by my surprise now i get a stack of iron each 10min (by the way you can tame 5 cats and sit them down at the farm so none cats will spawn and only iron golems who increase the iron from it :> )
For Bedrock, my understanding (per Mojang) is that they need to sleep in their beds and stand on their workstations to continually produce golems. I have fought this so much but have two mini-villages that are producing. They don't fill up chests very quickly, but with some AFK, it gets the job done. So many things I learned along the way: 1. If you have a bed next to a wall, there is a chance when the villagers wake up, they will spawn outside the wall - this will break your farm. 2. If you have a 3 high ceiling, you will get golems inside your building (if there is enough room). 3. If you have a 2 high ceiling, and villagers have beds next to each other, some villagers won't sleep. (I fixed this by creating a double ceiling and 3 high holes around and over the beds). 4. If you have a 2 high ceiling, they can't stand on their workstations (I solved this by creating an adjacent room next to the spawning area). Bedrock is a pain when it comes to these farms.
Wasnt working for me, built exactly like it shows in the video except i ised glass instead of cobblestone for my builing blocks. Google says iron golems spawn on glass. After waiting for a while with no spawns i decided to switch the floor with dirt and wouldnt you know it they started spawning like a wildfire. Note to anyone building this farm, DON'T use glass!!
@@sparkle2448 in my experience with other iron farms sometimes it does take a while for them to start spawning. I would try to add more villagers so add 5-10 more beds and workstations. Also sometimes iron farms.. because of how villagers work.. do break over time. I would always build it in creative first just incase some game mechanics broke
I have just noticed while making this, if a golem falls into the ocean it will be at the ocean floor, you have to kill it for the farm to work (I think)
If they don’t spawn give them a few minutes. Make sure the hopper is connected to the chest. And you might have to lower the lava. That’s all I had to do
A tip to get the villagers in the villager area is to make a staircase and use about. Half a stack of redstone rails and 1 or 2 stacks of regular rails to get 2 villagers in there and then breed them
Oh yeah - and another fun fact: Creating a room with leaf blocks as the floor seems to confuse villagers - they will have a hard time finding their way to their beds. Pathing for leaf blocks totally breaks the farm.
It worked incredibly well. Very compact and efficient farm. I don't know if came up with this design but thanks for bringing it in a well presented manner!
@@nolif3gam3r43I made my farm on the ground and you have to place the leaves on the ground. ATLEAST 7 blocks out. Must make sure any holes are covered up at least 2 blocks so the iron golem only spawns up top
If anyone is struggling with CAT spawns, if you tame 6 cats and leave them next to/ on top of the farm, no more cats will spawn in the farm until you move your tamed ones or they die 👍
As @paraplegicspiderman0123 said, if the golems are not spawning, make sure there is only 1 layer of cobblestone above the villagers, this layer should be the one that divides the villagers, and the water the golem will spawn on. This farm works 100% and im on bedrock on the ps5
Made this today 9/14/2024 and it worked :) used cherry wood and leaves, and they worked with it, 30 mins in and i already got a stack (killed some my own when building it and i have looting 3 just to note) I recommend using 5 cats to keep cats from spawning, and all villagers had to be adults for the iron golems to start spawning, so if you bread them yourself it may take a while cuz the babies have tp grow up ^^
This is probably the only iron farm I’ve build that actually works. Been 20 mins and I’ve already gotten a stack of iron. Tip: make sure u don’t build this near mountains and any caves
You can do it directly on the ground if you make an area around the farm with anti mob spawn blocks, and make sure there is no cave under the farm. So you can make your base near the farm.
Build a little block room directly next to the farm, fill it with 5 tamed cats, and make it so they sit and stay. That will remove the spawning of more cats.
If your farm is not working in survival make sure you follow all steps in the video, ALSO MAKE THE BEDS ACCESIBLE I spent hours trying to find the problem but that's all it is!
Note if you place a bed and/or workstation (not sure if workstation does but bed for sure does) within like a hundred blocks of the farm it will break the farm. (Technically this only applies if you overfed the villagers, but it’s very hard not to and it’s just easier to avoid it rather than find out you didn’t give the perfect amount of food). Don’t be an idiot like me and place a bed to sleep before going back to base, or place a grindstone to disenchant stuff from the afk fish farm (which you should also set up btw, it makes it a food, enchanted book, enchanted bow, and iron farm). I recommend using the afk fish farm design by silentwhisperer, it’s not broken you just have to place a block and aim halfway across the block instead of next to chest.
I am genuinely grateful for you and your tutorial this is the first time an iron farm worked on bedrock for me, and for anyone seeing this i suggest to make it over the ocean and away from other villages for it to work and again thank you
Bro i wont lie i have a test world and i built over 20+ iron farms of my own designs as inspiration to others n urz was the only obe tht helped i built mine oon the ground though and for all of u tht built on the ground spawn proof the surroundings with slabs atleast 5-7 blocks out then afk 10 blocks above for maximum iron golem spawn rate so its like 130-170 iron/hr
Bro im playing on Nintendo bedrock and it wont work I tamed the cats and now nothing is spawning I have 20 beds and 20 villagers and I check there is no caves and no iron golem on the ground and it is high enough but it’s not working please help me
Make sure there are no bells, beds, or workstations within like 60-70 blocks of the farm that’s what broke mine but when I got rid of them it spawned again
To anyone making this: I can't reccomend enough placing a lightning rod near the farm. This farm works perfectly but lightning struck the farm and went through the cobble and turned 3 of my villagers to witches. The farm still works with 17 villagers but is slower than 20
@@itzbread4352 I didn't have a lightning rod and when I was AFKing there was a thunderstorm and it hit the farm directly. If you place a lightning rod next to the farm but a few blocks away and lightning that would have hit the farm will hit the rod instead and your villagers will be unaffected. Place the rod on a platform near to but far away enough from the farm itself
This farm only works during the day... the iron golems don't spawn at night because the villagers need to be sleeping for them to spawn at night. Which they can't They spawn during the day because the villagers need to be at their work benches during the day, which they can be.
I used a bubble elevator and that seemed to be the best way. Only took about 2 hours total till I had 20 villagers all in the box. Just bring 2 up the elevator and breed em.
Bro... first iron farm that has worked in bedrock for me. TIPS: I made mine close to my base so lots of open slabs. I recommend doing it pretty far away. If you mess that up, no prob just throw leaves down on all the surrounding blocks until the golems stay in the designated area.
It works but it’s really slow, and the iron isn’t going into the hopper everytime, sometimes I have to go in the water and pick up the iron from infront of the campfires
I made this exact farm on two different worlds, works great on the one that's creative and it's buggy on the 2nd world which is survival. I built it over the ocean over 150 blocks from any other villagers. I've had to modify the design to make the villager space larger. As fixing it requires breaking all the work stations and the beds, and laying them back down so the villagers can access both. Not sure why it's different for my two worlds, I'm on Bedrock Xbox. But figured I'd share my fix.
does 150 block away from any villages ect mean up as well or block Y or X. Can i have an iron farm underground and then this one in the sky above it 150 block upwards??????????
I don’t understand.. Golems were spawning like crazy while I was building it. Couldn’t get them to get out of my way. Soon as I build the whole thing they just stop altogether
Have to be in the same chunk for it to function. Personally I just stand next the chest where the hopper is in this litttle AFK chamber and I’m racking in iron. It actually works. For me I had some issues since I have a Villagers breeder right next to it lmao but I must admit it still works, you gotta place cobblestone slabs at least 7 blocks out from the top of the farm where the bushes are and on the bottom of the farm place bushes on the ground to make the iron golem only spawn up top in the area.
@@Pinksteerm little update, I did some tweaking and if you want it a little more efficient don’t build next to a breeder lmao. You have place a lot of bushes everywhere get like 20 stacks and place it all around the farm by 10 or 15 blocks out on the ground and it’ll literally force the iron golem to spawn in the area. This is only if you wanna build it on the ground and not in the air.
If you don't want to be building this up in the sky and want to keep it on the ground, you'll have to surround the structure with a material that makes it so the golem can't down on it, such as leaves.
Copy your world, go into spectator mode on the copied world, and see if theres any caves below where a golem has spawned. If so, you may need to place slabs in the caves to prevent the golem from spawning there
@MegaBlackwidow82 i would recommend going over every step because you definitely had to miss something. I've made multiple farms recently with no issues at all.
Are they all in the same place? Golems spawn underground in caves if you’re too close. Check 30-40 blocks in all directions to see if they are spawning outside your farm. Also can’t be too close to village
Guys if you are facing the problem of iron golem not spawning here is the cause and solution 1 iron golems can stop spawning it can happen cz of either you placed the beds on nighttime or they are spawning some where else or you placed any block with your spawner example is wooden block Solution Is first one is when the time is day set the beds again second one is use slab on cave and third one is you're cooked your farm won't work again (it happened to me so not sure ) 2 you're farm has stopped working but you didn't anything above then it's probably cats blocking your golem Solution Is to tame them and keep them in the wall and when you have 5 cats only iron golems will spawn no cats but if you kill the cats you're farm may get rekt
(putting as my own comment instead of a reply) but 1st try building the farm, w/ everything spawnproofed, golems are spawning everywhere except for the water platform where they're supposed to... it turns out that a quick search says that golems spawn within a 17x17 area (which is a lot bigger than 9x9 😓) so i'll extend the platform to that later & see if it works also it might def be my fault that i didn't realize i built the farm between 2 villages 😭 BUT they're 300 blocks from each other in a straight line, and like i said golems were still spawning in my farm so i don't think the areas of these villages are intercepting or causing any problems 👍 1up if i prove u wrong u have to pin this comment /j
update making it bigger and adjusting the water worked, also had to adjust hoppers a block higher bc they weren't collecting anything but it works for me so that's all that matters ok ty for coming to my mineyap
@@Not_Toxic_Raf i think theres an easier way to do it but the way i do it is making a way up and pour some water so its kind of like a river? Then just drag the 2 villager all the way up in a boat with a lead
This does work however the spawn rates are a bit low, to make them more just simply make the iron golen spawn platform a 8x8! Also i suggest making this above water to make sure iron golems do not spawn!
I thought golems wouldn't spawn unless the villagers had slept "recently" and that villagers wouldn't accept a bed if there were any blocks within 3 spaces above it
Hey 1up this is adeptgaming5010, I just stumbled back on ur channel while finding this farm for a world with my friends, good to see your channel doing well.
If you don’t want to roast the cats you can add a ring of cobble stone blocks three blocks from where the build extends out so that way there’s a gap tall enough to stand on but not tall enough for golems to spawn. They can still spawn in the farm, but it does reduce the amount of cats being burnt.
this didn't work for me. the iron was always just on the rim of the campfires. or nonexistent. does anyone know why? i'm watching the golems die. and its just not working. edit: just realised i put the chest in the wrong spot-
