Bro you forgot to show that with frost ice orb you can put out the orb and then do bf4 and the orb will freeze them after the stomp and it combo's and does no scaling whatsoever. easily nets him 40% combo's no meter. and if they block the bf4 they can't punish because the orb will freeze them. its also hella plus on block.

Frost’s slow moving orb does have some use outside of just zoning, After the orb has been thrown Quan Chi can go kunning kick into falling death, into Frost orb freeze (sorry I’m still not used to MK notation haha), for some extremely juicy damage. I also saw Ketchup and Mustard labbing corner setups for the armour off the new portal in the corner a few days ago, Sub-Zero looks like a great option because he can help set up the ex portal mid route so you get the first hit on your opponent’s wake up. I’m new to MK1 after just picking it up and thinking about trying Quan, he looks mad fun after the buffs ☺

After the buffs, I'd say Sektor is a great Kameo for him too. Guarantee Bone Cage on wake up. Sektor can make it so even people who jump in Cage, Sektor gets a guaranteed missile.

some people uses kung lao cameo, they do the full screen portal kick of quan chi then the cage and then teleport quickly with kung lao and then the follow up combo

@shujinkydink I think Sektor and Cyrex are good too, especialy Cyrex because of the net and the Helicopter attack. He can put out allot more damage.

I like to get in close with Quan, so i've been trying a little Kano lately. I like to use his knives similar to how raiden does. I drop kick, knives and when player blocks and tries to punish the drop kick, they get hit by the knives allowing a full combo. I've mainly used Frost for the freezeball and combo damage it allows.

Scorpion is quans best kameo in my opinion. It gives you the tools to get his cage setups and portal setups in combos. He also has the move where he pulls you away which helps his portal into zonining

Lao is by far the best, Serena is number 2. Low projectiles to mix with his overhead ones, mix ups, meatys off his throw + tentacle, bone cage combos, safe sky drop the list goes on. If you wanna see some tech lmk and I’ll send you some clips. You can get lao mix set ups off his 214 and his mid on block as well as setting it up after stand 4 at the end of a combo.

I think Tremor is his best. The 100+ health is a huge boost to his survivability but... The ability to do 386 meterless damage from anywhere on the screen from teleport or from standing 4 into teleport, PLUS from his 214 string is genuinely busted Or you can spend 2 bars to enhance the tentacle and do 447. The problem with kameos like Sonya that ONLY enable his zoning is that sooner or later the opponent will close the distance and you as Quan Chi will have to have a more proactive gameplan and stop spamming portals and projectiles. With Tremor U can use standing 4 on reaction to huge rewards or the 214 string up close to also huge meterless damage

Thoughts on sektor? That’s the only kameo I’ve used but now I’m wondering if I’m missing out on better options

Sareena also has a decent reversal/wakeup (not the best but decent) and adds 50 health. I must have missed when they made Sonya's rings a mid, I somehow still thought it was only mid when charged, no wonder you've been using her. I wonder what could be done with Tremor, but since you'd probably end up using ambushes a lot you might not get much out of him; but with summons you've armour, ground pound, straight punch on block or up punch on hit confirm, metallic boulders if you feel like chucking more shit at them, and 100 extra health.

This is very helpful. He has become my main but I needed to figure out his synergy with other Kameos. What’s your opinion on his pairing with Mavado? Any use?

Is there a way to deal with sento kenshi or raiden/baraka+kano/stryker Im into this game for like 2 weeks and these characters been abusing my Quan Wonder if theres a way to deal with them or this might be another mess with nrs failing to balance the game

Imma be honest, not a fan of zoning, but this patch made apprecieate quan chi. He is well thought character. Its not just go back, shoot but he actually has multiple tools that you gotta use and its pretty fun!
