Thank you! Vostok - is the best! Respect from Russia! Many interesting technical solutions are used in this watch (if you are interested, see my review in Russian). Sometimes the quality is not the best. But it mostly refers to the build quality. For example, before using in water, it is sometimes necessary to check that the back cover is fully screwed on. At this price, there is no other fully manufactured watch with its glorious history and original designs on the world market!

Those mods look awesome! My one and only Vostok is a silver dial Komandirskie 02-65, which has run +90 s/d since the day I opened up the box haha. Still love it, though! LOL @ your kid's "it's too fancy for you"! Just tell him that you purposefully color-coordinated the Mandala to your Ice Blue Fender Strat, making you the coolest Dad on the planet!!!

That is a brilliant and amazing piece of information. I am just looking at this site now and cannot believe the prices. Meranom never really gave me the impression that they actually did represent Vostok as I looked to them for spare parts for project builds and repairs, they always seem to be OUT OF STOCK on almost everything, if they really were connected to the factory then surely spare parts wouldn't be a problem at all. Thanks for this invaluable tip. I know where I shall be buying in the future. 😊👍

Thanks for the "pro tip"! 😁 It's funny how something as simple as a bezel insert change can really set the watch off, and make it look so much better than stock. You seem to have a good eye when it comes to that. I've been eyeing a white dial Vostok, but when I pull the trigger, I think I'll keep it stock, because I do love the stock insert.

Those watches are very cool, not for everyone but they have a lot of choices anyway. I love the design, truly industrial and original. I will try to get one, but I'm in South America and may be kinda hard to get it done for a fair price. Anyway, cool stuff man, keep it up

I love your channel. Bro, you're like the Brad Pitt character in "Burn After Reading." I got a Komandirskie a few months ago; couldn't believe it only took 10 days to mail from Moscow to U.S. Anyway absolutely love it. What a value: keeps good time. rugged looking. A tough knock around. All for under 30 bucks! For me the greatest feature is the manual wind. Don't need to wear it daily like a self-winding (it'll die if not worn every day) just wind it up. I wished Vostokhe's metal banded watches were manually wound, tho'. None are. One suggestion: Please test all your mechanical movement watches on the watch-0-meter to check accuracy. Anyway, keep on Chillin; wit' dem Watches. Peace.

Great work, very nice mods. I have a 090659 Amphibian, my only (or rather first?) Vostok. I think it's super cool, but I've been thinking of changing the typical Vostok shiny bezel to a coloured one to make the big case a bit less dominant visually,. Great tip about the picks, who knew you have watch modding tools scattered around your home? Btw, the silver dial on the Scuba Dude is slick, and quite tempting.

Great info. The link you have seem to have under "ladies" a few more "smaller" options -- 37 mm by the looks of it by cross referencing Meranom. This is great for me. The 420 Amphibia and Komandirskie, both ~ 40mm, are ok on by ~6-6.25 wrist, but I am going to have to try a 37 mm. I am in the category of what I've heard are 2% female watch video viewers and bought the Amphibia and Komandirskie from Meranom as I needed an affordable, tough, waterproof, etc. mechanical option.

Nice channel, dude. Got my first Vostok a few weeks ago (amphibia)... I unfortunately sold my beautiful Seiko JDM when I was desperate for cash last year (major regrets!!!) Still pretty broke, so the Vostok was a cheap way for me to at least get a new mechanical.

I've been toying with the idea of getting a Komandirskie with the red star and tank on it. The price is cheap enough and I'm kinda attracted to the Cold War kitsch. I visualize some heavy set Russian woman in a head scarf putting them together in an Orwellian factory. They just seem to have that bleak industrial vibe to them. The only thing holding me back is the shipping time. If it takes a month to get here and doesn't arrive until mid summer I'm worried my fanciful notion might be gone by then. Instead of getting a kick out of it I'll feel I wasted my money. I'm starting to realize this watch obsession is quite the mental game. Not even sure its a healthy pass time...lol

I also bought the 120658 off vostokinc a few months ago, and just bought another 120 that I modded with Meranom end links and a Aliexpress bracelet JUST YESTERDAY...how spooky is that! Just posted a pic of it on Vostok Reddit. And I also posted a link to this video to a question titled 'vostok bezel insert' from a couple of days ago. I think those 120 bezels are bad to get off because they are so narrow there is no surface area to get leverage against.

You'll need the 18mm end links for the case, you can get those from meranom. But then any bracelet with 9mm center links will work with them.

Vee make beeg discount for you friend. This is perfect timing, I’m due to drop a few rubles on some boctok. Have you had any trouble with movements in these lately? Last few I’ve bought stop working intermittently. They need the ol Slavic touch of love now and again to get going...aka a hard rap against something unyielding. I’m thinking they must have reintroduced serfdom...QC slacking. All good, I’ll still buy em. Super slick guitar pic trick!...totally gonna employ that method.

Serious delays due to the war and the sites didn't have the model and configuration I wanted so I'm going the Ebay route. Costs a bit more but I'll get what I want quickly. This video is great for information but the prices have risen sharply in the last year.
