1. Reduce: What SHOULD I be doing today? When listing out your to-do list, you're going to include as much as stuff that you think you CAN do that day. But there is a difference between the things you SHOULD and COULD do. Jumbling this together would mean that you'd end up with too much on your plate. What is the one thing that if you do today would get you closest to your goal? That is what you SHOULD do. If your goal is to write a research paper, then the number one thing you should do today is to WRITE. 2. Eliminate A lot of us put too many thing son our plate. Answering emails, read papers, attend meetings, this just pile up. And through our lives, we get so used to saying yes to avoid conflict or burden on the other side. By saying yes to everything we think is important makes our plate mountain up. You think it's important. No its not. Classify what you do every day in an excel sheet into essential (move you towards your goal) n non-essential. For example, meetings with no agendas or meetings where you dont know why you are a part of it. Eliminate: You find yourself spending time on facebook scrolling, eliminate facebook. 3. Delegate Ask someone else to do non-essential tasks for you. 4. Execute Most difficult and takes discipline. Brain trickery "I can't do it" "But I've promised them..". Pursuit discipline the important fute every single day. Remind what is it you SHOULD and and SHOULDNT do every day. Practice saying NO. Your energy and life is limited. Make things easier for yourself. Achieve more by doing less.
