@@HOWDY789He had over 10 years of MMA at this point already, against a ton of killers in the most stacked division and 35 is old for Athletes... Most Athletes start to decline past 32, especially guys that require high explosiveness and cardio like Barboza.

Also cutting weight gets more difficult the more you do it and the older you get. And he's cutting even more weight as a featherweight. On top of that, decided to not grapple against a elite striker just because of ego.

@@demibasan1714 Wonderboy has much more technical kicking skills than Edson, he also uses kicks extremely often in fights compared to most fighters (including Barbosa) by utilizing wicked jab sidekicks. What Barbosa has is ridiculously fast kicks with serious power behind them. He isn't the best kicker, he's the fastest, but his kicks are more like a finishing strike that he sets up moreso than a core part of his arsenal, and aside from spinning heel kicks he only really uses thai kicks to the legs and body. There are plenty of kickers with a better arsenal or better technique, Edson just has wicked explosive power. Thompson is also much better at actually creating distance to kick, Edson gets overwhelmed easily, and if he gets pressured he never really manages to recover and set his kicks up. You can't really pressure Wonderboy with striking, because he's just going to outrange you and take you apart with a combination of kicks and blitz straight combinations. It's honestly a shame he's in a division with mostly wrestler's and he always gets fed to said wrestler's.

@@fruitytuitty643 He's likely never going to answer because he has no justification for that statement. Wonderboy has some of the cleanest sidekicks in striking sport's as a whole, let alone MMA, and we've seen a wider arsenal of kicks in Wonderboys toolkit than most fighters. He just hasn't had much chance to demonstrate them recently due to largely fighting wrestler's. Wonderboy is one of, perhaps the, best kicker in MMA at the moment. But there are plenty of guys out there who could lay challenge to that, Zabit has some pretty lethal kicks for example.

Tough fight for both but for casuals they see gigas face and not the severe brain damage kattar recived. And barboza is a trash ass rubbish old school Thai kicker. And his muay Thai is trash compared to pure Thai strikers. And his grappling is trash compared to elite grapplers. Giga is by far the best kicker is 145

Prime barboza was the best kickerhe had power speed and a variety of kicks. Currently I'd say either wonderboy or gaethje. Wonderboy still is so fluid with his kicks even after all this time powple are scared of them and rightly so. Gaetje kciks juet do so much danage and hes so quick and powerful. Id also give an honourable mention to both periera and blahovic, alex for being so unteligraphed and jan for having such great defemsive kicking.

Me gusta la UFC y me encantaría si los peleadores se preocuparan mucho más por el cardio al igual que lo hacen los boxeadores ,es cierto grandes cuerpos ,mucho músculo pero en uno o dos round ya andan sacando la lengua 🤪,y no me critiquen ya que soy fan de la MMA ,y cualquier conocedor sabría que lo más difícil en cualquier deporte es el cardio!!
