POPPT1. U were put in a YEET smash vid with ur Gannon. Just wanted to let u know. I think it was the deep edge guards or something like that. Check it out
I found the link ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nTjhsWQ2TXk.html ( It's from his video when he took ganon to a tournament and did the RANALDOOOOOOOOOO)
As a fellow kirby main I can verify up b and rock are really good in the right context and with good conditioning. Just can't spam them like a 5 yr old.
I play Kirby pretty often, and from my experience, people always try to juggle him and I usually catch opponents by surprise last stock by using down b when they jump up to try and juggle or use up b to kill
Just a note that Joe is Pokepen, who is a good player from the region with good results. He changes his tag a good bit, but he had a good run at Port Priority. Plays a LOT of characters
you should check out old sets with little z and analyze them and talk about how y'all developed as pro players (both in regards to smash4 and then you specifically in ultimate)
Forward throw downair is one of my favorite things to go for. It really calls out players that hold in. If you catch someone really sleeping you can just grabloop them until they wiseup.
Are you really supposed to DI in when Kirby f-throws you? I always felt like it was much much better to hold away. Is there a reason someone would DI in or are you just talking about punishing bad players?
kirby main here! so a few things, the up-b covers a lot of space and is pretty fast, but be careful as if they know you will do it you will get punished hard. The end lag is not as bad as most ppl think, you cant f-smash out of shield if a kirby does that to you the stone is very situational, only use against linear recoveries that are hard to contest (like lucina), otherwise its not good if the other person knows what they are doing. for the combos, u-air to u-air is not true in almost all situations, but you don't have time to do an offensive option like nair, so they can either jump and they are in disadvantge without a jump, or airdodge and you get frametrapped, or take the damage. (the back hit of u-air to back air is true tho and its disgusting) hope that helps!
I am 10 seconds into the video and Poppt attempted to pronounce JeJaJeJa's name. All is good with the world. Edit: To answer your question, Kirby has a true 0-75(ish) off of grab against DK, but it does also put him in a nice juggle position, so 0-90 isn't that hard. The inhale -> footstool thing is totally JeJa's style, I don't know how he gets away with it offline when he telegraphs it so freely but it's hilarious. But also, Kirbycord had a crew battle against the Brawler discord, and we told them, time and time again, not to get inhale footstool'd at ledge as it was probably our single best move against brawler. And something like half of the brawler stocks were inhaled away. I don't think JeJa was even in that CB, it's just genuinely one of the best strategies in that matchup.
Kirby main here. The up b spike is actually pretty easy to space and time once you get used to it. Absolutely destroys slow, predictable recoveries. Also makes it pretty terrifying for people to try to edgeguard cause if they miss they may well get spiked
Up B is one of those Smash moves that's so bad its good again. Ive heard Jejeja say he likes using it to anti-air. Although, I was surprised to see him use the hammer because he claims that that is Kirby's worst move in there is no situation for it. LOL that said he's in my region and he inspired me to pick up Kirby as a secondary because I played him since 64 but I was just a kid back then.
Kirby will always be my favorite smash character. Sad that he doesn't have the strongest kit but I still love playing him. I kinda love the cheeky aspect to him. He can do some pretty OP stuff but it's relies so much on opportunity. (As with alot of the game) but I feel like kirby can either be just worthless or one of the most annoying characters. A combination of both is what I'm looking for. I don't like using cheap tactics but when you make it look like it's not so much of a cheap thing but a very hard move to pull off but be so effective. Shits gotta be rewarding. And that's what gaming is all about. The satisfaction and joy you get from doing something you practiced at. Kirby hits those feels for me.
JeJaJeJa is my most favourite smash player, which is why my tag is JaJaLizard. He also has an amazing Toon Link, which really help me develop when I first picked up smash ultimate. JeJa may be the best Kirbo, but JaJa I hear is pretty good on the sticks and may be the #1 Toon Link "allegedly"
almost every 1 makes a ( personal ) tierlist for all characters... but every character is S+ tier if the person who plays the character is good with the character
Kirby was a pretty natural transition for me. I "main" Lucas and considering how important down tilt is to both their kits it was pretty easy for me to get the Kirb in Elite.
I think you should check out marvelous marco next. He has a really hype toon link that in my opinion makes young link look trash (exaggerated), and he's a very funny guy. One of his best sets was in the juicebox against chunkykong. Also hello Zoink.
If you wanna watch more of him you should check his set against H4DS at that same tournament (back in blood 2). One of the games lasted less than a minute.
Hey Poppt, I think it would be cool if you watched the Jdizzle vs fatality offline first to ten, it would be cool to see what you thought about the Australian smash scene vs the American one
