Ive used the Galaxy, cold war, and Omni kontrolfreeks, and I think they all serve their purpose. Galaxy is best for simplicity, Omni is best for people who don't like tall thumbsticks, and cold war, despite the unpopular design, is actually the one I enjoy using the most
Dude you make me laugh every single video! Your jokes are always well timed and are nice stingers. Found you looking at controllers a while back but the comedy got the sub! Keep it up man!
I have some experience with KontrolFreeks and I have some thoughts. Some of the designs are good, but they get slippery easily (Galaxy). Almost all of the start degrading (like physically crumbling) after a week of use (CQC Rush). I like the Vortex for the low rise concave stick, and the Inferno for the high rise concave stick. Also these designs seem to be a bit more durable than the other versions I have tried that have left rubber bits all over my controller.
I’ve literally been using the same two pairs of KontrolFreeks for 3+ years and have never experienced any noticeable physical degradation and certainly never experienced any physical crumbling whatsoever.
Based upon my experience, i felt like Concave was a bit too slippery, and i didn’t get much grip. My main gripe with them as well is that they seem to wear off fairly quickly after like 2-3 months. Happened to my Galaxy, Phantoms, and Infernos. With Convex in the other hand, which i prefer for years, i never had that problem. I felt like i had more grip, comfort, and aim was a whole lot better than concave.
I've blown probably a couple hundred bucks on kontrolfreeks over a couple console's lifetimes, and I can confidently say that infernos are the best for me. Infernos + high sense + linear curve + low/no deadzone = godmode. I sucked with controller for years after coming from m&k on pc, but when I figured out that combo I started to absolutely fry and consistently too. Highly recommend.
@@KingFloch88 It's a response curve setting found under controller settings in some games. Games like Modern Warfare 2 , fornite, and Apex Legends have it. The default curves in those games are exponential, which means the movements you make with the stick start slow and ramp up speed after that. This allows easier fine aim adjustments while still being able to turn faster when you need it. But it makes building muscle memory tough because the the sensitivity changes as you move the stick. Linear curves don't get faster or accelerate. The sensitivity is consistent. It's like raw input on a mouse.
I have the Vanguard high rise ones. They're pretty okay, comfortable, design doesn't suck, and they match my red controller. Cons: They remind me that Vanguard exists
Ive gone through about 20 different designs to find the best ones. My favorite combo currently is low or mid ride dome on the left, the one I use alot is actually from Walmart (not KF brand), the CoD Zombies Revive one is pretty good too, and the Overwatch high rise on the right.
Bought the OG CQC freeks for my new series controller the other day. Threw on some black rings as well because the new Xbox sticks are way too light on resistance. Sens maxed, dead zone at 15% and Loving it! Perfect driving control and aim almost as good as a mouse, although a little slower.
I actually use the "battle royale" ones that you flashed up as hot garbage. They were an accidental purchase, and I was pissed about it, because only a psychopath would use convex sticks. I resumed using my galaxy ones. Eventually I caved and gave them a shot - turns out they're not bad! I like them for some more casual gaming (i.e. Skyrim). But for intense FPS games, gotta stick to my "FPS Freek Havoc" ones. They're sized to a 360 controller so they fit the Razer Wolverine TE perfectly. Best sticks on the best controller Oh and of course I only use them on the right stick
My first Freeks were the OG green low rise which ended up being great for playing claw but I eventually switched to the black CQC. I still have them because of how durable they are and I don’t play much anymore since my preferred FPS games have pretty much went down the toilet. Thanks for the video. You always make it entertaining. 🎮 💯
Vortex. You didn’t even THINK about mentioning the Vortex. I am disappointed lol. I started with the galaxies. Then went inferno. When I found the vortex tho…never bought another style again. MENTION THEM NEXT TIME!!!! 😃
@@bonanzabrandon6877 the purple ones i literally used them till i couldn’t like they had no grip and the purple part came off of the white base and i had to glue it back lmao 😭😭
I adore the low rise Omni KFs. They have like this bidirectional grip that works no matter how the KF is placed, they don’t add much height to the stick which is great for my casual gaming sessions, and they look great. To me.
Yeah I have the galaxies, and like them. I think I'm more comfortable with the mid rise over the high rise though. I used the soft rubber rings on my right stick, and found it made it easier to stay on target, not necessary get on target. I had to bump my sensitivity up to max, and increase the max deadzone to 90%. I just don't know anymore lol. I took everything off to start over fresh lol think I might keep the mid rise on the left (for some reason that feels better to me), and put a rubber cover over the tight stick, and possibly avoid the rings
That’s why I brought two packs of power A fps just to get the done ones. It’s sad I have them only on my Ps5. Which they made them for my elite 2 controller.
Great stuff man! I found a Razer V2 Controller for 60.00 so I have been using that and surprisingly enjoy it, but my question is are there any KontrolFreeks that fit the wider thumbstick? They say the Xbox 360/PS3 ones would fit but they are not in stock anywhere. Thanks again for the content!
AceShot thumbstick grips work on the wolverine controllers, you can find them on Amazon! Those, and older Xbox 360 KontrolFreeks fit wolverine thumbsticks
100% KF's last more than the controller. Ive been through 1 Inferno (rubber came loose and split off a while ago), but im on my 3rd controller. It has been great for FPS games, but i play rocket league half the time also, and then i just pop it off real quick
the omni kontrolfreeks both started to tare after a couple months n the inferno kontrollfreek the tall one cuz of the design started to cut thru the ruber same time around the omni cuz i bought them at the same time then the galaxy low rise the whole rubber bit came off after a few months off play also so idk which one i should buy again cuz they all broke in the end
I've used Ultras, CQCs (the green ones), Vortex low-rise, Phantoms, Classics, and Infernos, all of them for Call of Duty games (I was a sweaty nerd that competed in esports on that game), and none of them ever wore out on me. Out of all those, loved the Classics, Vortex low-rise, Ultras, and Infernos - they made my hand more comfortable and I was noticeably more accurate at long range after I got used to them, particularly with the high-rise sticks.
Ive got razer wolverine ultimate joystick and i wanted to ask you, would you use low stick with red vortex kontrol freek or high stick that comes with a joystick?
I plan on making both of those as separate videos. The best wired controllers, and the best wireless controllers. And one day there will be a video talking about the totality of controllers, and which one is the best overall
Hey Cuda, do you know of any thumbstick grips that would fit on the Razer Wolverine V2 Chroma? I've been looking and can't seem to find a straight answer. Thanks man.
Anyone try skull and Co thumb grips? I had galaxy for 4 months and it now gets slippery if my thumb gets sweaty. I notice the bumps on it are wearing down
High rise sticks does give better control at long range however your short range will suffer. I've been playing with high rise for years and honestly I prefer no kf. It's too inconsistent with high rise however I cannot say anything about mid or low because i have not tried them. I do intend to try for a extended period of time
Bro I tested plenty the purple galaxy high rise and low rise are perfect keep my thumbs stable but also let’s glide across them smoothly the infernos I have are too flat and they suck the white galaxy still perfect and I have the cod 3 they great but for ppl w bigger thumbs
Hi cuda! What controller would u say is best for COD. I play competetively and want the best one out there. Thanks for the help!! Also hate stick drift lmao..
I have the power a spectra infinity controller (the one you used to showcase the galaxys) and I bought the infernos for it, but when I put them on they just fall off when i put a bit of pressure on it. Any idea why this might be happening, because I assume they use the same dimensions as the galaxys but they seemed to fit fine on your spectra infinity..
I tried using all these controller stick accessories.. foam rings, thumb caps etc... but they didn't seem to do anything. Also, I'm a filthy casual. I play different games and I just got tired of having to remove all the items every time I switch games. I just bough some ribbed (for my pleasure) thumbstick caps for my PowerA Pro 2 controller and I'm fine..
does anyone know if kontrolfreeks will benefit a lower sensitivity? i play on 4-3 linear for apex but apparently i’ve heard that kf works best with higher sens
Typically, KF are more beneficial with higher sensitivity. It takes time to get use to, but you will see a drastic difference. I remember when i had my first KF years ago, i use to play on a 5-6 sens. It was pretty manageable, but not really at the same time. When i bumped it up to like a 9-10, it made a HUGE difference in my gameplay.
MW3, MW2 ,Vanguard, cold war Limited edition saints row Omni in 4 different colors. CQC Black Galaxy's The clear Galaxy's. My favorite out of all of them. I can't pick cause. I play racing games and shooting games. But for racing games I use a combination of omni and the CQC For my first person shooter games I like Call Of duty cold war. And I sort of like the Vanguard. But the colors are kind of limited to certain controllers I got. But The modern word for 2 or perfect on my Chrome green elite controller. Look good and they actually perform well. They're more flat, not like the cold war which are dished a little bit. I was debating on buying the new MW3 ONES I've bought and married. Many, many pairs bit's spent probably 5. Probably five hundred I'm just thumb stick extensions, LO. L. They do help a little bit, but as they look cool and work. I'm cool with it better that way. That's why I think the omnies are the most useful on all games. Because they come 4 DIFFERENT colors. And Galaxy crystal looks really good and work really good, so is the black condition.
I’ve used inferno high for Xbox series s don’t regret never tried galaxy or never gonna if they break I am gonna get the same inferno why? Well I am fortnite pro player with level 85 and I need accuracy a lot and highs sticks are the best and for me the inferno design the best so yeah inferno kontrol freek for me rest of the life
I basically only watch your videos regarding comedy factor... But I have 1 question... The best freeks for a razer controller? I play with the wolverine ultimate. Thanks in advance
They just release a new elite 2 controller, it's called the elite 2 core for 50$ cheaper. And doesn't come with paddles and most of the other accessories 💀💀
