That's so cool! I've been loving your birthing tips. You are really great at your job, I've never had a labor and delivery nurse like you, you should consider making all your videos into a course that you sell on a website, because I really think all labor and delivery nurses should know this stuff- and birthing moms also. I wish I had known this stuff with baby #1. I kind of gave up on hospital births, but you renew my hope that things could change in the future. Keep doing what you're doing. Bless you and your family.
I was due 3 days ago! Currently in early labor! Contractions have been 20 mins apart and are gradually getting closer!!! Big ups to all of the moms that went through this beautiful process!!
@@the_birth_nurse Thankyou so much for these tips as they were so helpful. I was in active labor for only 4 hours! I didn't even think of the name Mandy! I wish I would've lol. I will tell her you said hi :).
That is sooo true, I got a peanut ball and this thing worked amazingly after my epidural, it helped to speed up the process. My midwife was a blessing)
Normal delivery is not normal anymore Women are forced to not move , and lay on backs, hooked to lots of oxygen mask, machine and syringes and tubes thru noses , amd ECG, as if she is a heart patient . Even when no complication is there, Obviously with no movement her contractions turn aweful and abnornal patterns and no crowing happen, Also, women are told that laying flat on back majes baby get oyshed in spine and women are not able to 'Contract and relax their pelvic muscles to bring baby down and push or eject it out as woman totally loses control of her belly muscle, meaning it us unnatural to force woman in such pose for long times with no movement cos SHE CANNOT PUSH, (Would you force a man to lean on bed for 3 to 4 hoyrs luke statue with no movement and expect semen to come out in its own without he let to stimulate the system? I.e. what happen to women forced on back with no motion unable to push out a baby ) then thier vajina is cut chopped by blades without reasons (WHO has said, that changing birth positions ease sliding out of baby, and cutting vajina should not be doen as it lead to tears, and infections), and women's babies are roughly and harshly pulled with force before they could easily smoothly slid out causing wounds to her intimate canal, any random unknown staff oogle at private part of women and women are focred to bend knees in public places like labor rooms and show intimate part to men in hospitals, and tyen baby is not shown and taken away directky and fed formula milk. Is anything normal birth process in this , NO ! Women get so scared, that theyd emand ceserean instead of such violent coercion and vulnerability in name of normal delivery.
I wish the hospitals in Corpus were more supportive in helping mother's who do decide to birth with no epidural. Both times they just wanted me stuck in bed. It truly sucked. Plus they always tend to push for induction & c-sections.
I didn't know that I was pregnant for five months until I went to the hospital to see what was going on cause every time I would use a home pregnancy test and they were new pregnancy tests in October and November, December they said invalid so that's when I went to the hospital 🏥 in January on the 26th that's when I found out that I was pregnant in the middle of my second trimester now I'm in my third trimester and close to my due date May 5th is when I'm wanted at the hospital for my C-section the reason why I didn't know is that I don't have any pregnancy symptoms
My due date is July 10 2019. I am patiently awaiting my little bundle of joy. I have everything I need now I just need my little guy. Last time I labored long due to my water not wanting to break. I'm hoping maybe this might help this time around.
@@the_birth_nurse Baby was born 7/11/2019 at 11:44pm. I arrived at the hospital at 11pm. The nurse asked me for a urine sample and my water broke while in the restroom. My husband was outside the door and heard me being sick and came to check on me. The nurse brought me to the bed for a check and it was go time! He was born shortly after. Not before giving everyone a little scare. Apparently, his shoulder got stuck for a moment or two but the midwife rotated him quickly and he popped out. 9lbs. 2oz.
These are really helpful! I'm 5 months along and really anxious. My midwife is pushing epidural with only back and side as options. Trying to prepare by being educated so I can speak up about other options.
This is great if you can find a hospital willing to allow it. Both hospitals I delivered at refused to allow me to push and other way than laying on my back. The second one wouldn't even let me get up and walk around the room to try and get the baby to drop. 😒
@@chatgpt4135 Not really when you have Drs delivering and telling you what you can and can't do. Why are you even here trying to argue with me? Move around.
Thanks so much planning on trying some of these due to be induced Monday as there are concerns and I'll be 2 days overdue. Love position 7 I'll be trying to have Baby just like that.
I have cesarean one month ago in my second pregnancy I want to have naturally labor for third pregnancy how many months should I distance for have naturally labor I hate from cesarean
3years to be on the safer side. I have four children. My first and second were both c-section and my last two ended up in natural delivery, thank to the doctor who was willing to give me a chance
It's not that easy to get pregnant in the first place :) by the time you will get pregnant, you will wish it more than you were afraid of it. But, it's not that bad, so don't worry.
These all seem great but I’d need to buy all these balls to have at home because they make it clear they don’t want you at the hospital until transitional labor. That’s much more stressful for me as a second time mom because I went from transition to holding my daughter within like 45 min 😬 I just hope I can make it in time!
It's their choice I would personally never get one but if it helps mom keep her anxiety I'm check and thus baby heart rate calm then I'm all for it. Women have a right to choose what they want with their body but I wish doctors and nurses werent pushy with it and educated pregnant women about the many side effects.
I had a 4th degree laceration with my first (hole to hole) because of the epidural. I am a wuss when it comes to pain, but the epidural is not worth it, plus it blocks the nerves that regulate blood pressure and my blood pressure dropped dangerously low after birth.
I actually asked GOD to take at least 10% of the pain. I felt I couldn't do it . When it was time to push I felt no pain. HE went above what I had asked. Trust and believe 😀
Ephesians 3:20-21 New King James Version 20 Now (A)to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly (B)above all that we ask or think, (C)according to the power that works in us, 21 (D)to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
@@John-xi6jr This message came just in time. I'm reading this as I wait to be induced for labor and delivery. God bless you and this will be in my prayers 🙏🙌❤
I did a lot of walking with both of my pregnancies. Had both of them smooth and naturally all the way with no epidural or other meds. That is also how I sleep. I am due this June 2019 and hoping baby comes in at 38 or 39 weeks like my girls did. This time it's a boy, so definitely praying for another natural delivery. God bless you all pregnant women and congratz to all having babies this year 2019!!
I'm also due in june 2019.. It's my first pregnancy and i am so scared.. I also want normal delivery.. I need u to give me useful tips to have a smooth and normal delivery..
Few more weeks!!!! Just had our baby shower on May 4th....received soooo many gifts it was unbelievable...truly thankful and blessed....prayers for all pregnant women and their newborns!!
Thank you for these tips Mandy! I don’t have a labor support person so these positions will be really helpful. Going to try some of these tonight, I’m 39 weeks. 😬 here’s hoping! 🤞
Ur awesome. Seems labor and delivery nurses don’t have a lot of time to allocate to helping ladies in natural labor. At least that was the case with my first baby. Which I’m sure is true since I was low risk I don’t think I got enough support but I’m going to show this to my husband so he can help me out through the process. Thx a bunch
Dyani because that’s how most doctors are trained. But by no means is that how you must lay to give birth. Speak to your nurse and ask for support with different positions that make you comfortable. Your comfort is important! If you have a doula, they can also provide support and give you ideas of different positions that may be more comfortable for you!
Because they're lazy. Its easier for the doctor to just have to sit in one place and keep.mom in same position. It's also hard to move around with an iv connected to you and al extra gowns and sheets they have. Also most women in hospital use an epidural which numbs your bottom half making it too difficult to move about and give birth in different positions. Women who give birth with out medication at home or in birthing centers give birth in different positions all the time.
Excited to try some of these out! Due July 6 th with baby #2 and had 2 false starts already! For some reason as soon as we get to the hospital contractions stop completely! 🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
Where were you forty years ago when I needed your great advice and help. Things were so different then and you just did as you were told, no options. Everyone laboured and delivered the same, flat on your back.
These tips are great and make sense anatomically. Do you have any tips for delivering twins naturally given the chance one may not be in the "right" position?
My labor and delivery nurse had me use the peanut to help my daughter get into position. Literally had her within 15 minutes of using it. She was my second child. Much quicker final stage. Hoping my third will be just as quick as my other two.
I’m really nervous about pain and I think about adopting or not having any child at all. And I definitely want a child though and I want it to be mine, I just don’t know at all what to do to cope with pain.. is there anything other than this that could help with pain like natural remedies or exercises? -Abby
Giana, it's not as painful as you think. The best natural anaesthetic in labour and delivery is your voice. Moan, roar, sing and let it all out. Read a bit about vocal techniques. It works!
I will try this positions, baby is due in 2days I been stretching to open my hips and some pelvic stretches too I’m doing the reboso position tomorrow with my husband n I always sleep with pillows between my legs 😁👌🏼 hope my delivery is fast toooo 🙏🏼
Position #6... A good option when the nurse and dr want you to hold your own legs because you're in labor by yourself and there's no one else to do it. For obvious reasons I told them, in not so nice words, that I could not and would not be doing that. Haha. But seriously, I'm loving that position.
I appreciate z mom on ur video for volunteering on showing z positions. And I wish u r my nurse when I give birth even though I have no plans 😂😉may be for z future🔮
I hope so🙏but z funny thing is I didn't even get married but when I think🤔 about pregnancy as a girl OMG it just irritates and scares me a lot but when I saw this video it actually relaxed me 😃and changed my mind thanks a lot that 4 that
Mandy Irby i get induce and my baby came to 5 centimetres and no more progress for 2hours and the contractions were still coming and they decided to do a c-section.
Hello Mandy How are you plz reply to me fast .. My wife start already nine month and don't have labor pain and no open carvix mouth I m scread pla reply
See whether her water has broken i.e. leaking of water from birth canal, is theur oain in hips, frequent pooping or diarrhea or urination? These are also labor symptom
5 is how i sleep im 35 weeks and 2 days so scared my husband n i first baby and living in a country that isnt that caring towards women in labour.thank you for these tips atleast my husband and i can use these support techniques to help me and baby out
Hi have a friend who’s her sisters support person at hospital now. They dont have any peanut balls there.🤦🏻♀️ what do you recommend they can use? Ty in advance!
So with an epidural if you push on hand and knee do you stay in that position while they stick you? I want to labor different the next time I have a baby but I fear the stitches after being stitched at my 6wpp check up without being numb.
Stunning. One question.. when you are trying to rotate baby in semi prone position, dont u wanna lie on your left side? To ensure baby is LOA..? or it doesn't make a difference if you are on your side.. which side doesn't matter..?
Oh bless your heart! I’m in the hospital waiting room right now, and my daughter’s having #4:) Many years ago when I was pregnant with my first and felt scared, I remember looking all around me and telling myself, “All these people got here the same way!” That helped a little:) Prayer is a wonderful way to feel peace, too. God bless you...it will be ok.
@@lorihooke268 Thank you Lori !! This is my first baby that's why i don't even know what's gonna happen i will pray hard. you Guy's helping me alot more blessing sis !!
It might be a really efficient tool to assist labor, but I REALLY hated that peanut ball! My son was OP and I was kept on it for a long while after everything else had failed to turn him, and it was so incredibly uncomfortable for me! By the end of it all, I just wanted to pop that damn thing and never see it ever again! lol
@@Chloewaterz really? I've never heard of tearing more in that position. Always heard that the squatting position widens your pelvic opening, reducing the need of having an episiotomy and/or C-section...gravity
If only I could find this many pillows for one patients! I recommend people bring some extra pillows if they want to try out some of these positions. Depending where you go, they may just not have all these pillows available.
I’m sure this video is very informative however, there’s a lot of talking before we actually get into the meat of the video maybe if that can be reduced it would be even better.
Mandy Irby I’m doing wonderful! I tore alittle lol (my impatience got to the best of me🤣) but I’m healing and doing just fine and this was a VBAC so I’m so proud of myself!
Is there different ones which are best for those who have pgp? I wont be able to have a water birth, so would love which is best to not aggravate this.

The last position is terrible for the perineum. It’s actually the worst possible position to avoid organs prolapse.
