It's sad that were at a point where 429 is cheap for what u get....and foam never stays pretty if you use it alot. Horizon and fms driving the prices waaaaay up I wish they would put more balsa planes up...Def cheaper lol
This comes with metal geared servos, gapless hinges, a beautiful paint job, high quality gear, and a perfect fit and finish. It should be more expensive if anything, it's rather cheap for what you're getting.
@@TwoBrosRC they're very nice yes but the cost of planes .....especially foam has skyrocketed compared to a couple yrs ago....and even e flughtused to have balsa....balsa flies better for sure
And yes I do know there's a hangar 9 p47 as well and it fies 6s beautifully....but balsa a few and far between....also check out the red and silver p51 mustang from fms it has a retractable tail wheel as well
I actually think it's not bad, especially when compared to E-Flite pricing (though E-Flite is a great product). Everything has gone up in price. FMS frequently has coupon codes, one of which just allowed me to pick this up for $374. I once put together a Hangar 9 F4U of about the same size (glow engine, retracts, etc), and by the time all was said in done I was in the $800-1000 price range (and this was 12 years ago). So, I don't think $429 for something that is receiver ready is that bad.
Love this plane, bought it,looked after the maingear, mine was gleued well...the straps for the battery were way to short, use a spektrum 6s 4000mah, so not tge biggest one, wich i use for otter modelspoor aswell. Also the propeller spinner, was without thread,so i had to buy a new one, thanks for sharing Jon,love it!! God bless from the Netherlands!!
Great review. Love this bird in my eflite 1.2m version. I would add a thin layer of water based clear coat for durability. I also would swap to a 2 blade prop for better performance. A aeronaut cam power prop or something compareable. Mine is a blast to fly. Flies like it looks - like a tank !
Been looking at this P47 for a while. Great video presentation of its flight characteristics. Ordered using your link. Keep up the great flight reviews!
Just picked up this plane today Did you have issues with the battery straps mine were way to short, like to short for an 3s lipo do you think the sent the plane with the wrong straps
Very nice video!! You guys always do a great job with your videos !Absolutely love this FMS airplane! I think it is one of their all around best airplanes they make as far as Is durability and flying characteristics!
Ya great looking P-47 or "Jug" as they called them. Hey Jon, you said you never flew a retract tailwheel? Never flew the Eflite 1.5 Mustang? its an awesome warbird.
Sir, thank you again for a very well done introduction video. I believe it was you (I could be wrong) who mentioned the size of the main wheels. I can't find this info anywhere, and my plane has not yet arrived. First thing I will do is to replace the main wheels for Dubro or something along those lines. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks. Dale
I'm sorry I'm going to have to disagree on this the reason why I fly a P51 mustang red tailed not RC lol 1942 it's been restored for the Tuskegee airmen I work for a war bird museum the P51 has way better turn radius and dive elements you can see more out of the cab no blind spots with the P47 I have flown twice the bank elements on it are good but not as good as the P51 the P51 I can bank sharper to the right and to the left and and gain altitude lot quicker than the P47 everyone has their own opinion and that's alright I say until you can actually sit in a cockpit like do then speak out
That is a great warbird. It is the P-47 to have if you want a foam one. Very detailed. Man your wife did a great job! 😄 Nice touch n goes bro, especially in the wind. GREAT landing. Man wheels are the weak point on almost every warbird. Thanks for the shout out man. Enjoyed the vid very much!
Anytime we see that battery system, we've gotta tell people how to fix it, and you're the man who came up with the technique. It is a shame that these models come with plastic wheels - here's hoping we'll start seeing more models with rubber wheels like the Super Cub going forward.
BEAUTIFUL model!. I wish there were some other p-47s like it out there that were closer to 1.2m. Love the livery and detail on it. The striped tail really makes this model stand out. I wish E-flite would bring the 1.2m Thunderbolt. Mine's kinda beat up. Love the "Jug"!
One of my favorite looking Warplanes. I'm probably going to get one soon for when I get better at flying. Even if I don't get better I'll still have something cool to display in the house.
Quite surprised that FMS chose to fit such rubbish tires considering how good the rest of the plane is. I fitted a set of 3.75inch Robarts and they work fantastic! I also fitted Draco's motor, ESC and a 18 inch prop (18x11) and she flys super scale! Not as fast but I absolutely love how it flys in this setup. Also gives you reverse thrust for those shorter runways. In fact I love this plane so much I have two full unbuilt spares!
Great flying and filming. It’s time to replace my 1.5m Eflite Mustang. I think this will be the one. Only feature I wish it had were the wings that come apart for transportation. I have also switched to SMC batteries, much credit to you. They are really next gen.
The wings do come apart! They're two-piece wings, so each wing plugs into the fuselage - they just don't split in half like the P-51's do. Happy to hear you're enjoying SMC packs! We promote them because they're solid batteries. Just wish that everyone in the world could get some.
This is an absolute beauty!! I didn't care much for the 1.5 elfite mustang but this one has my interest! And btw your wife did a phenomenal job on the camera! Prob the best camera work done thus far if I'm being honest! Great flying as always sir 👏👏
Ha, that's funny. I got the eflight mustang as well, I also didn't care for it...dang thing is next to impossible to land. So I jumped into the 90mm viper. I don't think I have ever owned a plane that lands as easy as the Viper...fun. Now I am ordering this P-47. Hope you like yours!
