Scott, l was in the exact spot you were in on the 18th, l was using a gold spoon and caught an 18 inch very tasty redfish. The funny thing I was about waist deep in water casting my spoon when l looked in front of me and saw a 3 or 4 foot shark heading straight l mean straight at me..l went into turbo back pedal mode and scared him enough making so much noise that he spun around and left. Did it stop me from fishing, nope l am either dedicated or dumb I just wanted to take home some redfish.
Nice red still trying to get my first only been surf fishing twice but hooked on salt water west coast salmon - Rock cod fisherman now in Georgia thanks for sharing
@Kyle if I’m getting abunch of short strikes I’ll put on a treble but I try to use circle hooks if possible. A lot of times fish get those live shrimp pretty deep and a treble can do some damage in the back of their gullets.
Picked up a pair of Calico Jack rods 7 foot six medium and medium heavy nice rod for the $$$$$ looking forward to given them a good work out down in Corpus Christi this winter, your videos will have todo in the meantime, Thanks again DannyC
