The BEST magnepan modification !!  

This was a fun project. I must say we could have spent a bit more time and finished them perfectly (felt strips ect.) but what should not be missed is the material upgrade and overall construction made remarkable SOUND improvements over stock. Mikey spared no expense on the hardware and wiring. The final active quad amplified product was sick. It took the upgrade to 7' 30k Analysis Audio to move them out of the room.

Best modifications I did on my Maggie 3.6 was going dsp active and adding sub. I made an active system with a stock Behringher DCX2496 with sub. Did not sound that good with stock Behringher, too dry, no detail, no dynamic, too much noise, etc. I did out board LPS, better OP amp, better in and out analog siginal path, ADC and DAC capacitor bypass, silver wiring, etc modifications on Behringher. It made night and day differences. Now I use Behringher as the 3 way ( except tweeter ) full active speaker processor and I am more than happy. I no longer need a super powerful or crazy expensive amp any more. DSP really does the trick. I could control x-over, gain, EQ, delay, room management at digital level without noise, and is better than most amp upgrades. If you don't have Active DSP sub-woofer experience with Maggie, you don't know what you are missing.

Didn't you design a bass & midrange for the small maggies? The ones in the vid are some seriously good speakers, i heard those back in the day!

This is why planar are simply THE BEST. The best sound you ever had in your Audio Lab were your tall black planars with the open baffle subs. The. Best. Planars beat the stuffing out of boxes and monkey crates ✊🏻🐑✊🏻 Good job, no, GREAT job Mikey!
