It's a great figure, but it being black and red (even though it's comic accurate for 1st appearance) just throws me off. I went ahead and got me an Animated Spider-Man (same body) and used some acetone to remove the cel shading and did a head swap with pizza Spidey. Came out great! 👌
That AF figure takes me back. As a kid in '99, my dad took me to ToysRUs. I was getting a superman, Metallo, Supergirl, and Bizzaro set that day. But right there by the entrance was this red and pitch black Spidey figure. Dad told me to choose between that one figure and the Superman set. Always regretted not getting it.
Imagine The Amazing Fantasy 15 Spider-Man with the blue and red suit. Holy shit it’s just so cool, like even if they don’t do it, the figure by itself is still absolutely phenomenal and shows Hasbro at its best and what they can keep doing. However feel they are inconsistent, like for every 1 or 3 brilliant figures we get, then they come out with 7 mid or lacklustre ones
@@suhtangwong The Walmart one gets bonus points for being the 90's Animated Series Spider-Man. If that Spidey doesn't at least make a cameo in Across the Spider-Verse...!
I didn't buy fire star cause I knew they'd do something like that and she has double jointed elbows and it comes with a perfect classic spidey instant buy!
I agree. I've always loved the first appearance looks for most of marvel heroes (and dc for that matter) so that is one of the reasons. But I also think it's just a good, well made figure
Super huge Spidey fan here...as far as best spidey figure... still love toy biz spiderman classic wave 1 Spidey. Problem with spideys for me, either too thick in physic or lens proportion. Runner up to that for me... can't tell you. Retro spidey is probably the hardest one to get, never saw him in stores and never saw him showcased until now ..looks great paint wise...but no interchangeable hands ruins it for me. Thanks for showcasing
I also like how they adjusted the height of Spidey to slightly shorter. Peter isn't the tallest character, standing at an average 5'10. So the height of the figure makes him look more accurate scale wise. The Renew your Vows Spider-Man I'm okay with being taller since on that he's an adult purely in his prime
Honestly the Amazing Fantasy one is better then all of them. I think the second one you showed was to muscular, the spider logo was way to big on the front. His hips are like sticking out making it look weird. The toe joints are cool but I feel like people call it the best BECAUSE of the toe joints. The Amazing Fantasy figure is in a perfect height. He dosent look to Damn big. And it’s based on the OG Spidey
Got the Renew Your Vows and Amazing Fantasy ones, they're great! Also, chuck a Tom Holland head sculpt onto the Amazing Fantasy fig and it looks really close to perfect!
I think the blue and the small spider on the Retro Spider is still better than the Renew tour vows. But the the renew your vows and amazing fantasy are way better
Agree 100%. First Appearance Spidey, I feel, has the most accurate body mould for a Spidey. WhileI love the posability of the retro Spidey, I dont think Spidey should be overly buff! I still like my Pizza Spidey, specially the Raft version which is my “McFarlane” Spider.
I agree the Amazing Fantasy is definitely the best right now. However for my personal preference I lean towards the Renew your vows two-pack. but I swapped the head from Amazing Fantasy and yoinked the web-gripping hands. that's my personal favorite combo but I'm biased towards more muscular builds. Mainly because of the 90s cartoon and Tobey Maguire's spidey
I don’t understand why they can’t make amazing fantasy Spider-Man figurines with blue/cyan outlining, it’s so easy just do some web wash with the muscles
Use hot water and dip the lower feet into the water and let it sit for like 30 seconds to a minute and the safest way I found out to remove the legs is articulate the feet like if they were tip toeing and then pull if they won’t come off put it in the hot water for another minute or 30 seconds
I don’t have those Spider-Man’s yet but when I do get them would you be willing to trade the tow joint feet for the regular feet? I really don’t like the tow joint feet
I'm new here so idk if you've reviewed them yet How do you feel about the animated Series cel shaded Spidey and the amazing friends Spidey? Both use the same mold from the first appearance spidey
Cel shaded kinda wacky imo, but I do really like the head sculpt of the animated one. Amazing friends is my favorite. Better chest symbol, vibrant blue and the overall build of the amazing fantasy onr
The amazing Fantasy apparently comes out this December for me, which I’m kinda disappointed, cause I was waiting for a while to get him and I still am. I just want him so bad
Not a fan of the lenses or colors. I still think Pizza Spidey is the best one. It's the full package and actually has accessories. I wish they'd just scale down the 12inch one.
Love the editing! Say on an unrelated note; you know how to fix gummy legs? I got a zombie scarlet witch and her legs are real gummy, particularly her right leg. Thanks!
Are the reds a perfect match if you switch the feet for the toe bend? And the sizes similar, considering the renew vows figure is bigger than the amazing fantasy one?
@@KitbashCustoms just asking because it's difficult to tell when they're not shown side by side. The reds look like a decent match, but considering your channel is a customs channel, I thought maybe they were painted. The feet with the toe bend look a little big on the other figure but I'm thinking that may be worth the trade off. I don't have any marvel figures yet and I'm not trying to break the bank with the more expensive brands, so I'm just trying to figure out how to get or put together the best Marvel Legends Spiderman before I start buying stuff
@@j0hn00 just checking to see if you saw what I saw, they’re kinda big but overly big if that makes sense, I did not paint them the red matches Casper’s the Board tho cause I put the same feet in the cel shaded one too
