How I got here…
12 yrs old: Started uploading minecraft videos at / @luke23mc
16 yrs old: Switched to uploading Fortnite videos on this channel. You can go to my uploads sort oldest to newest to see all of my old Fortnite videos
18 yrs old: Switched from Fortnite to Rocket League videos during Covid. I also began coaching players 1-on-1 on / spookluke
19 yrs old: Rocket League went free to play and my channel blew up. To keep up with the demand, started the Grand Champ Roadmap --a rocket league course business
20 yrs old: Built the course while in College and created a coaching-community-course hybrid model. Eventually, drop out of school to pursue RU-vid and the company full-time.
21 yrs old: Switched from selling courses to coaching only. Rebranded as Grand Champ Bootcamp. Doubled coaching duration, lowered price.
22 yrs old: Peaked GC3 (top 20,000 players) while averaging less than an hour of Rocket League per day.
Today: Coaching is how we make our money - not youtube videos or courses.

There are too many plats in my lobbies that can fast aerial. I’d put that and/or aerial control basics into plat. That’s just from my experience

The thing is if you're doing those correctly, you should still be able to do it better than a plat. None of them are that good at it. Trust me plat and diamond fast aerials are different.

I don't know if it is just Eu/ME servers, but plats in my lobbies do air dribble and air dribble bump sometimes, making back post defence unreliable

Are you sure it's the speedflip kickoff? When you're not experienced with speedflipping yourself, it can be easy to mistake for the diagonal flip kickoff. I've been called a smurf in gold 1s before for "speedflipping" when I just diagonal flipped into the kickoff

I’m Gc2 I just Started training wall stops and speed flip catches in the air after watching RLCS the other day. I got Wall stops down but speed flip air dribbles are gonna take a lot of time for me to learn.

i fw this list so heavy, been watching for a while and have solo queued to GC1 in 2s and nearly GC in 3s. The ground to air dribble pack is huge, and honestly the dodge control packs have been really good as well, surprisingly. I'm definitely not using them to score frequently, but being able to just get that unexpected extra touch can get so much value (This list is so close to how I learned/am learning things too)

I accidentally learned airroll control, and learned how to land on my wheels all of the time in bronze and semi-blindly land on the wall in bronze (I’m looking at the opposite direction of the wall)

Learning air control first before starting to learn how to spin it's soooo true. I learned the basic first, only when I hit gc I decided to give a shot to air rolling, in a matter of a week with a few hours training, I was spinning and controlling it easy

My experience so far has placed these about one rank below where they actually become necessary. all the champ stuff I see in mid-diamond all the time from my opponents, and is usually why I'm not keeping up well.

So basically to get to diamond i only need to learn to wavedash. Since i already can do the other things. Also dont front flip front flip EVER. In fact. If youre front flip you should time it to where your wheels never touch back down. It counters the speedflip. I cant tell you how many in mixed games ive played that i got kickoff goals on against GCs Not expecting a counter.

I am champ and i have my personalised preset on keyboard ONLY (the mouse controls on the numpad) and i think you can have the benefits of controller by having a mechanical keyboard. I'm to mechanical and I have +1200 hours i tried to switch but i couldn't

Okay I think I'm like a hardstuck kbm and not controller but can I still go through the ranks and get to the ssl rank even though im on kbm coz i have played rl for about a year and i have 961h and 49m at the time i'm sending this and i have played all those hours on kbm so can I still get to the high ranks or do have to change coz like i do have a ps4 controller but i stil think playing on it is weird for me coz I can seem to do my normal mechanics on it so i still stick with kbm so pls tell me your thoughts on this luke and keep up the videos they are great and i liked and subed

your problem is that you're going for mechanics that you really don't need to do in plat, air dribbles are pointless and flicks are used assuming you're facing someone who's readily defending already
