I know like a year and a half ago you used to develop and scan the film you shot yourself. I think it would be dope for you upload an episode discussing why you personally changed your mind and started using a lab again and what the pros and cons on both sides would be for developing/scanning yourself or sending out to a lab. We both know that there’s no one way to shoot/experience film and even though I do choose to develop my film myself I think it’d be cool for someone like you to show the new folk getting into film that they don’t HAVE to develop it themselves if they don’t want to. HNY and thanks for the dope perspective on the GA645!
I would imagine a large part of it is time. I love developing film until I have 15 rolls after a trip. Thats when I send off to a lab and get ok scans. It's great to still have the option to camera scan ones that I really need every bit of detail out of. But for social media lab scan are more than enough.
Vuhlandes was definitely that dude you always relied on when you growing up. Man always right on time with the uploads🔥 Like button definitely gettin a 3 piece combo ✊🏽
Thoughts on the camera aside -- I just have to comment on how amazed I always am in how much work you put in. Shooting a video like this by yourself (?), shooting interesting photos, getting them developed, and then editing it all together in engaging content has to be hard af. Much respect. I know you don't need to hear it from someone you don't even know but be proud of what you've accomplished and what you continue to accomplish
I was actually waiting for this video, I wanted to get one myself but the reviews I saw on YT were from people that didn’t do it justice. appreciate ya review forreal✊🏽
Great camera but hard to recommend to a beginner purely because of its current price. I got into medium format by 6x6 TLRs which are easier to find and a lot cheaper
Vuhlandes vids so chill. I never comment on vids but you just so natural and effortless, just feels like a genuine hang out and that’s why I always watch. Great work as usual ❄️🔥
Reach Toronto one day! Would love to see you bring your own uniqueness to some of our iconic locations. Also loving the Ambassador Bridge shots, the yellow/green grass and the teal of the bridge make the moody photos pop🔥
Got the GS645, keep trying to tell myself I'm happy with the manual focus but wish I'd bagged MF point and shoot for 380 a few years back. That waiting around for someone to move felt so familiar
Come to Canada bro, its pretty dope in Toronto during the summer. Caribana, Scarborough bluffs, wonderland, Toronto island, blue jays games at rogers center, the rom etc.
Damn, finally a place I recognize from my one wedding I did in Detroit. We took the wedding party down to the Amb. Bridge per their request. Cool area down there.
That sound is so cool! Can’t wait to shoot medium format again on my Hasselblad and make a vid about it! Keep up te good work man, love the consistent content. Peace from The NL 🇳🇱
I bought one last year. It was classed as a Spares or Repair listing but I took a gamble with it. Not a single thing wrong with it....nothing. Cost me £70 ($95) :)
Thank you for this great vid, Vuhlandes. As usual, I greatly enjoyed seeing your work process and the results. Those images, again as usual, are awesome. You sold me on this being a great medium format camera. Now if only my wallet were deep enough. Maybe some day when the hype settles down, so will the prices. Meanwhile I'll just lug around my old M645 (when I'm not shooting with my trusty, wartorn Nikon F).
I love this camera, so easy and the Fujinon lens is so amazing. Not the most silent film advance motor but what can you do. Digging the Seattle Mariners cap btw!
The only camera I’ve seen go down in price is the Leica M9 after the M10-R came out, and Leica announced they don’t have sensors for them anymore. That’s when I bought an M9 for about $800 less than they were just a year earlier.
If you actually want to learn how to use a camera and get into medium format and rangefinders you can always get a fuji GS645. Much more reasonable too at 6-700
I really enjoyed this video. You had me laughing over here. I've been trying to get back to my film roots lately and this gave me some inspiration. I definitely want to check out that fuji camera. Lol For the price that's not too bad. I wish I had a nice medium format camera but I'm about to bust out my old ass Holga and go shoot. Lol
Funny cause one of my boys has 2 and told me he’ll let one go for a good price and I was 50/50 but now that I seen your shots I’m considering it lol. Named it a point and shoot too
I really wouldn't say that it's the best medium format camera for beginners. TLR's are more reliable and easier to get into, and Kiev offers some affordable and great cameras as well that are simple to use. Bronica also makes some amazing quality cameras that can be had for good prices and many of them last long.
How did you edit or color grade the recording of this video? It looks very cool and cinematic especially around 5:00 min while that bridge is behind you. Loved the video also btw 🤙
