My advice to new investors: Buy good companies stocks and hold them as long as they are good companies. Just do this and ignore the forecasts and market views which are at best entertaining but completely useless.

Question: So these companies, Sandbox, Decentraland, Axie have "created" a limited set of plots of land, which your argument is that that makes them valuable because they are limited and desirable. But unlike physical land, digital land is "created". What stops these companies from "creating" more plots... or more companies creating a glut of plots of land? Wouldn't that make for the most part these plots less valuable. Digital anything is so easily manipulated (not in a bad way) that is created, destroyed, etc. at the whim of those who oversee it the digital item. ???
I think the value comes from the users in each companies metaverse. There is no value in land in a metaverse with 100 users. The potential that a million people could all be visiting your land at the same time is very valuable.
Your Central Park example was bang on. Don't forget CP was a bustling neighborhood that existed where it was before and a culture of beautiful people were erased from history. Not true I went and check and those lands are $50-$450 money down and $450 a month for $72 months. Plus a $150 process fee and I belive a docking fee of $20 that comes to a total of $32,620.00 for the land.

I'm going to make lots of "land plots" in Blender and then sell them as NFTs ( otherwise known as an "Asset", but I might as well call it an NFT to make more money). People aren’t really buying these things. They are making headlines and pumping up these alternative investments. Someone is going to be left holding the bag don’t be one of them.

Lol and the risk of “holding the bag” is always there though, but for different reasons. The metaverse or game in which they’re a part of could just flop or eventually people will just move on to the next new thing (as is the nature of video games generally). If no one’s using that metaverse, then the things within it will lose value. Or if that verse is successful and long term, the land you got might not be as valuable as you’d hoped. But also depends on the platform too. There are some where just owning the land has benefits built in- such as being paid the native token passively just for holding it. This goes deeeeeep. But all this is speculative. Deep pockets are in it because they see the potential, but they also have the funds to speculate lol.

Biggest thing I don't understand with buying the property in the metaverse is how location really matters when you can jump anywhere instantly. Location matters in the real world because you are more likely to visit a convenience store across from a stadium over one in an empty town. Means nothing if both take 0 seconds to get to. Although if they limit access to people with land in a metaverse I can see that being a thing since it is finite, but being next door to someone would be the equivalent to being in that metaverse.
I know a few people with the Occulus Quest, and I considered buying one. The technology is there, it's cool and fun. But no one is able to spend more than 20 or 30 minutes with the visor on because it makes them feel sick. Unless that problem gets solved, the Metaverse will continue to be nothing but a dream.

When you buy a nft you have proof that you are the rightful owner of that image/video. Your purchase is on the blockchain. If you just duplicate it there’s no proof you’re the owner.
Nothing like momoring said, but these companies have something called network effect. There are hundreds of platforms exactly like facebook, reddit, or YT, but you don't use them because no one else is. You need people to be on the platform for there to be value. First to market and social effect wins🏆
