Once again, I am hitting the road. In addition to photographing the best minimalist landscapes that Hokkaido, Japan has to offer, I’ll be going on side adventures, including a first for me...dogsledding in a winter wonderland! Wowzer, what fantastic opportunities. You nailed some fantastic shots there. That little sapling on the hill was sublime. And that little pine tree. Oh my. As we say in Lancashire, you jammy bugger!

Thank you kindly, Simon! I was buzzing on serotonin for a week after that shoot, and editing was a joy. Biei is a place that offers up fine fruit for becoming a jammy bugger. 😂

Hi Shaun, I will be Hokkaido from Friday for 2 weeks! Woo hoo, can't wait. Now you have added 1 itinerary to my Biei trip which is the dog sledging...

The dogsledding place is a bit further north from Biei in a place called Takasu, about 50km from Biei. It’s well worth the trip though! Book ASAP, they have limited availability. I hope you have a brilliant time while here. Weather has taken a turn. It has been warm! 🥵

Super fun video with some lovely images to go with, Shaun! The xmas tree at 7:28 was wonderful. I think it's always difficult capturing an icon, but a worthwhile challenge. Keep having fun out there! 👍

Thank you Valerie! This video was certainly a fun one to make. I agree, whenever you’re photographing a popular location, you have to simply focus on how it speaks to you and go with your intuition.
