Paul, it's like you climbed in my head & just explained my exact reasoning for using an MMO mouse. I also came from console about 4 years ago & struggled quite badly using KB&M so went with the Mad Catz MMO7 because of all the buttons on the side, that mouse has just died & I've now got the Razer Naga Epic Chroma. Although I loved the MMO7, this Naga is unbelievably good!! It's so much easier having all those buttons/actions right under one thumb. Nice little video dude, thanks for the info. :)

The reason why I subscribed today to this channel is that I was thinking to get MMO mouse for Arma 3. Then I've found this channel randomly to see his set up for the DayZ and he's using an MMO mouse. Man, we think the same :D

great setup even tho i am a one of those guys whoose fingers work with keyboards, this seems very comfy, might give some of this a try ;) had zoom, 1st and 3rd on mouse anyway, great vid enjoyed the stream yesterday aswell! keep it up (Y)

:) Great you made this video! You know we've been talking about this a good number of times -- I've got my mouse setup very, very much like you do, and I think Spaggie has -- or had? -- as well! A while ago I had a problem with my Logitech G600, and Spaggie was just amazing, helping me, he's had the same mouse as I! If you're reading this, Spaggie, love you man, you're awesome! Anyway -- I've got MY setup as follows, but I'll use the Corsair button numbers to describe it, so people can find these buttons on your video: 10 = 1st/3rd person! 11 = vault! 12 = Zoom close without holding breath! 7 = Use key (f)! 8 = Inventory (i)! 9 = Autorun toggle! 4 = lean left! 5 = lean right! 6 = Zoom out! 1 = Toggle Lock running direction (double alt)! 2 = Finger pointing gesture! 3 = Hotbar toggle. Now, I'll watch this video and let's see what I can lean!

Again thanks so much :). My fingers usually rest a little lower back, so they're dead center on 5 and 8, and later tonight I'm gonna make, I think, just about the same arrangement for the ranging keys as you have, and remove finger pointing gestures and the direction toggle, gladly. They were pretty convenient to me, because they sort of enable me to play DayZ with just the mouse, and nothing else, if I want to, so I can eat and drink, but come on, there are more important things than eating! ;D I will keep zooming as is, probably, having come to an arrangement between using the right mouse button for leaning/zooming as a compromise when I can zoom back out in increments. You really should try different gaming mice. Take it from me. I have 1 arm and I still play games like dayz. My main reason for the suggestion is other gaming mice I find more useful have the buttons spread out over the mouse so you are not restricted to only using the thumb. It really does limit the diversity of what you can do with your mouse hand to have all of the extra buttons only available to 1 digit on your hand. If I had 2 arms I'd probably also be using a gaming pad as well, being that I'm also a former console peasant.

Maybe a good tip for the lean problem on keyboard if you don't have that mouse....Change lean left to E and lean right to Q! You have to get used to it but to be honest you won't struggle hitting A or D to move cause you use another finger for it.

I personally run the G602, plenty of buttons, nice thumbrest too. If you set 2 buttons to lower/raise sensitivity it’s really useful for long range sniping.

I use a Logitec G9x mouse and a G13 keyboard. The Keyboard completely changed my gaming. It has a little joystick under your thumb that I typically use for leaning, sprinting and crouching, with a button right behind it I use for jumping, or if I press down on it I also use that for jumping so I can run and jump at the same time. Even though it's over 10 years old you can still get them on Ebay for about 50% more than the original price.

I have to say after seeing this I went and got a mouse similar to this one, unfortunately playing on console it's limited for keybindings but having the quick slot ability is a definite plus without moving fingers from one key to another. Hope to be on pc soon

I’m new to PC gaming, been a console DayZ player for a few years. I’m building a PC now and I’m looking for a mouse. Does this still hold up 6 years later. Is there newer or better option? Maybe an update on this video would be great. I also decided I’m buying the Wootie 6HE+ keyboard (I’m sweaty).

I played console my whole til about 2 yrs ago lol. I found this mouse and use the same one for all my games. I have my buttons different but might change few based on ur tips lol. I was having issues also wheni first switched to pc. I almost said screw this and went back to my consoles lol I also have ur same keyboard and found the raised keys so much easier to push buttons compared to the flat ones. lol I been watching ur older videos i missed today lol.

same as you some years before i get a razer naga and i have some issue with... stop moving etc so i go for the scimtiar and i realy think its a good mice but i play with a game pad(razer tartarus) instead of a keyboard because the joystik is reeeeaallyyy usefull to lean reloat and change firemode

kobo82 hold, so I keep it held and release to move back to normal. I have the "double tap" to make permanent lean disabled.

I use the same mouse as you and then a program called xpadder on my pc to convert my Xbox controller into keyboard. Most movements are on my left hand controller and then useful keys as the numbers on the mouse. Love using the analog to move and a mouse to aim

I just came back to this video as I just purchased a scimitar solely for dayz knowing Paul had one and recommended it! I gotta believe he’s atleast changed the 1st/3rd person button as I don’t believe he uses 3rd person at all anymore!

Just my opinion, but if I ever had a mouse like that, I would be spamming every god damn number on the side ;'D !! I have to have my whole hand wrapped and rested onto the entire mouse.. So that's why :P Changing from 1st person to 3rd, I just have it on #5 on the keyboard, pretty close to W,A,S, D. :P (All comes down to personal preference) Very interesting video Paul!

I have easily movable fingers because of my years as a cellist, but this seems to beat me out. to change pov I just jump my hand from my mouse to my numberpad enter. Leaning is easy for me but I really want an auto walk button on my mouse. that would be the most helpful. I use one of the two spare buttons for my push to talk on ts/discord, and I still use caps lock for in game (though im considering moving it to the other extra mouse button.) thanks for this video. makes me think about my setup. I have a corsair keyboard that survived an entire soda spilling in the thing. they make great stuff. (all colors still functioning and the sticky keys are no longer sticky after 2 cleans.)

Cellofellow you can set an auto run, sorta. You want to make an extra keybinding for forward and turbo(so W & shift) so i have it where i push a mouse button to run but it could be any button. Will work better with a mouse button tho

Thrmz even if my question doesn't fit to the video I would like to ask you if you know whether since tze new update they fixed that you can breath because from now on I cannot hold my breath while shooting with a gun and that sucks at long distance shots and by the way I binded to hold the breath button at j but it doesn't work as I said

Here's a good idea for the 3rd and 1st person switching, just play in 1st person. Honestly the devs should force 1st person when you pull out your gun.

Curious what dpi setting you use when running the Corsair with Dayz? I've been toying myself with 1800 dpi. Just got this mouse yesterday and am still trying to find that sweet spot for myself. Btw keep up the great content my brother.

I use very low DPI, 400. I think higher is a very bad idea (for me).

I just switched to pc and use this mouse but mine is set up different I use 5 and 4 for switching weapons and 8 and 7 for leaning

not sure if how that software works, but if you bind those mouse keys to say the key q in the software and leave lean left as q it will be just like hitting that key. That's how I did it on my mouse

I just started playing pc from Xbox and went and got the mouse I love it. I just have 1 question the buttons are numbered just like the hot keys on keyboard so I can hit 4 on mouse to lean and pull out my canteen from 4 on the keyboard idk. If anyone has a way to fix this I need it.

Either remap your keys, or assign new keys to the buttons on your mouse through the Corsair software

I use a foot pedal for some of my extra functions like zoom, pickup, prone, and jump. www.stinkyboard.com/ it was a little strange at first but I cant play without it now.

The best mouse setup for DayZ would be to get the devs to fix the fucking mouse sensitivity bug that has been in the game since day 1. Pathetic devs. And sad people that don't even realize it.
