You really only get one chance to show these off for maximum effectiveness on the RU-vid... but I figured this had been sitting around long enough before hitting the screen! Few of my mods last the wear and tears of wars and travel, but this one is still solid years later. GET SUBSCRIBED! ----> tinyurl.com/WS7Sub
in the space above/below the "muzzle" you should 3d printed a big ol WalcomS7 logo there and you could also get rid of the key for a sentinel lever or a full knuckle or just mid ring pinky only (just so you can do a finger gun thing rev/firing system that ring looks a lil to un-comfy to me and and just use cardboard to cover all opens ( imo)
1) It's literally a "SIDE-arm", get it? :D 2) That is an ingenious two stage trigger system. 3) A creative Walcom mod is long overdue. Love to see it .
Title: “ | Walcom S7” Me: best title, needs nothing more. I gotta take notes. *sees the arm-mounted hopper cannon* Me: WATCH OUT FOR THOSE WRIST ROCKETS
Funny story, when you first showed off this beast, it actually indirectly inspired the build that I will show off in my next video. Similar concept but different execution. Definitely love the trigger system.
I have no doubt that you could make a shoulder-mounted cannon, possibly fed by a proton pack -like thing, that would track and target linked to a head-mounted set similar to Predator
By far the one of the best mods I've seen in a very long time. The fact that you made the firing mechanism so simple to use with a yo-yo string, an old key ring, a 3d printer wheel, and a screw is absolutely amazing. I love that thing. Kudos to you Walcom, kudos to you.
Pretty is the last concern . One of my favorite custom projects you've ever shown off was the Jenk blade. Dont remember the guy who built it but that thing waaaassss ugly but conceptually was one of the coolest things I've ever seen. Funtional>cool>Make happy> pretty. Making a blaster into a work of art is secondary over just making the concept work.
Late to the party but this has amazing adaptive potential, I know a lot of people who are missing fingers and only have 1-2 fingers on a hand. Not enough to hold a blaster in that hand though. This could be easily adjusted for whatever finger someone has/is the most comfortable with and could allow someone with a finger/hand disability to fling foam!
Gave it a like before the cold-open was even done. DUDE. This is... what I've literally wanted from foam blasting since I got into the hobby BACK DURING CYBER STRIKE.
Seeing the jury rigged mechanics perform so effectively makes me so happy. I'd love to see a spinning barrel work on this thing but either way this thing looks super nice!
This is really cool! I love blasters that can attach to you and be used alongside others you are holding. Personally I think that it would be better staying as a compact(ish) blaster without anything like a barrel or chainsaw, because it might get in the way a bit. Either way, the mechanism you made for the trigger is really ingenious and I really like it. Thanks so much for sharing this Walcom! 💜💙💛
Having one on each wrist would be totally amazing, but as it is, I think the blaster is great the way that it is, no added gimmicks needed in my opinion.
I would add a simple 2-inch barrel for the firing aperture and a storage cup for a throwable, like one of Captain Xavier's stress balls, to the front. I'd also add covers for the battery compartment and bottom flywheel, as I would assume that something that would destroy the blaster, and those covers are the primary way to prevent that.
Hey Walcom, permanently mount the spinning barrels above the firing barrel so when you rev the flywheels the barrels spin and use a cover plate over the spinning barrels that lifts up in a scissor hinge way that works off the firing microswitch, when you fire she will pop open already spinning, very cool already though dude, big respect.
They had something like that before but you always have to reload it with a pool pump action. This is truly the automatic nerf SideArm I've been waiting for.
They take a long time. I'd like to get the work bench done so I can do it, but you gotta remember I'm a one-man army right now. Filming, editing; it's all just me... and mods take hours upon hours.
@@WalcomS7 I absolutely understand and greatly appreciate your content. I was just glad to see something beyond sour reviews and disappointment (not exclusively your content)
Damn G! Very cool I appreciate the straight make shift tech! Definatly finish with the chain saw bayonet you could integrate the trigger into a gauntlet to hide the cord, just a cable hidden in a bit of finger armor and the front of a firefly to hide the barrel and mechanism. It would be cosplay worthy! Hey Thank you for the content my man always fun and informative!✌
Wait, do I hear Mad Rat Dead music? Also, whether you consider this as looking bad or not, the right outfit could absolutely make that thing work visually. ESPECIALLY with those wires barely hanging out the back. Heck, you could make that makeshift-iness part of the thing's aesthetic.
For an arm mount, you should weld it to the Fallout 4 pipboy from Spirit Halloween. Then it's only 1 clasp point and it's gotta be way more comfortable than 2 metal bands. Some shaped Eva foam padding inside to keep it from shifting around. I'd love to see this have an Exia or 00 type blade that flips up, maybe run some green LEDs for the GN condenser blade edge!
A chainsaw or a spinning barrel on the front of your dart blaster? Truly, one of life's most difficult questions. I'm going to vote for the spinning barrel this time, but a short one. Wouldn't want the barrel to be so long that it gets in the way of holding stuff in that hand
How about a mecha-fist on the front or a gauntlet to incorporate the keyring mechanism? You might want to use a cheap Freddy Kruger glove for the gauntlet base, and make it look like something that Ash Williams would build for his hand, and add a Gundam style paint but blood splattered.
Honestly, I think the chunky look is neat. You could just put some cables and bits of conduit coming out the back, like it was repurposed from a turret or vehicle.
Walcom, I truly believe you are the best nerf youtuber ever! Coop is more 'no nonsense reviews', Drac is more 'time for fun', I recently discovered Just-a-Jolt and he's VERY 'let's have a grand fun time!' but is a bit too silly for serious reviews and recommendations. You Walcom my good sir, are the middle ground of each aspect! You have so much passion for the hobby, you're serious in your videos, you know what is fun and how to enjoy the products, and with your time in the hobby we can tell that you just KNOW what is a good buy or not!. I've been subbed for I don't know how long, and I'm going to stick around for many more years!!!
That firing mech is ingenious! Nice use of materials and just enough ingenuity sprinkled in! I would've went with a belt esque arm mounting system with Velcro or a Wii strap locking mech that prevents the strap from moving. (new Wii motes have that little lock tab on the strap which is what I'm referencing just to clarify) Maybe just make the rev side of the screw a little wider though cause hitting the small button on the switch if it gets knocked particularly hard might dislodge things a little.
This feels like those wrist-mounted storm bolters the Gray Knights have slapped onto their wrist so that they can wield melee weapon and still gun down daemons
Give it a little paint and few spare items and finally you got yourself a Warhammer 40,000 Governor Alexander cosplay, similar to one of his wrist-mounted bolter/power claw.
If you want to make it pretty, maybe reach out to Punished Props for a collab. They're cosplayers that have painted up some sweet on Nerf Blasters and worked on custom blasters. Plus both of you worked with The Modern Rogue on Nerf episodes.
This looks like something Ms. Fairweather would make to fight the demons in lightspeed rescue, or I could be wrong but I swear there was a power rangers/super sentai series where one of the rangers had a weapon like this And before anyone mentions it, yes I know Joel had his arm mounted buzz saw, but that's not what I'm referring to
I think cleaning up the back would be so much better than adding stuff to the front. If you could somehow get the whole shell down to the edge of the circle I'd look a lot better. Other than that improve the mounting mechanism, maybe integrate the ring into a glove with the trigger finger missing/free. I can see how the front end looks a little bland/unfinished, but I don't think any additions should go past your knuckles, and even that's pushing it. If you couldn't cut down the back I suppose you could give it a small barrel sloped at the same angle as the back, like a rhombus ->\____\, and paint WS7 to fit the edge. Of course these are all minor aesthetics, if you want some secondary mechanical action, might I suggest a retractable blade mounted between the barrel and the bottom edge of your arm.
Love the trigger system! It’s like a mix of cyberpunk and steam punk, the only question is what are you gonna call this new found for of crafting. Nerfpunk? Techpunk?
Stream after stream I was wondering when this would make it Into a video. Some of your best work in my opinion. Can’t wait to see this thing in the near future.
Neither chainsaw or big flip barrel. Keep it simple, elegant and function focused. Just cover up the exposed wires and internals, put a 3cm long permanent orange barrel on the front and maybe do some detailing with some paint. That big Orange exposed plate on the front of the hopper could be covered with a faux control panel; even some LEDs (it could have its own dedicated power: a coin battery or AAA.) I think large flippy parts would make it strictly worse.
