So, Nosferatu is one that definitely really interests me because it's been a long while since we've had a horror movie that portrays vampires as terrifying monsters for once.
@bodhidharmashmarma5179 yes thank you someone finally said it the original is an utter masterpiece but Hollywood can't have a foreign movie just be left alone in the greatness that it is
this has to be the best selection of Horror movies I have ever seen. 2024 Lineup of Horror films will dominate the golden globes. The cinematography is exquisite......The trailers dont give too much away.... Goodness this year will be pure gold. Lets fkn goooooooo!!!!!!! Share your favorites, here are mine: 1. Nosferatu 2. Alien Romulus 3. Starve Acre 4. Dead Whisper 5. Tie: Heretic or Speak No Evil
I was just thinking that. The trailers were almost perfect in making you want more in anticipation. Going to be a great year for horror films. Best in a decade
@@MimiJ_Z1920 I guarantee half o f these will be unwatchable. Why? Just look at "best new horror movies of 2023" lol. I love horror, but most of it is awful. Heretic could be good though.
YES...I LOVE that actress. I've never seen her in such a large role...this is going to be epic. Also...the wife looks like Awkwafina (those cheekbones!!) Thus looks like my daughter who was redrum'd by her boyfriend when she was 24yo. I will watch ANYTHING with girls that look like my daughter. (Sorry for the TMI, ty for reading if you got this far!)
I'm still waiting for the sequel to the last Prey (predator) movie. Hopefully they'll won't make the same mistakes they've been making with the movies that came before it.
About a third of them give away plot points in the trailer so will just wait to watch those on streaming (fight for evil family wealth, the old "tell the blonde to BE SPONTANEOUS!") Another third look like retreads of previous films (demon possession, scary AI...ground breaking) And then there's the countless reboots and sequels. There's four original stories I'll spend money to see in a theater.
OTR truckers and Sea men serial killers……. Abduction, abuse/torture, murder, and dumping of body and evidence over large swaths of lands or water. The FBI calls it ever “moving crimes scenes” that contaminates evidence so they are rarely solved.
Ok someone who enjoyed the Quiet Place franchise so far more than me, please explain this. In the first movie we find out that too much noise kills the monsters. But then how the hell did the monsters survive showing up to New York without immediately dying from the noise?
Not going to lie, I think I agree with whoever is running Blumhouse that AI should be something for which we maintain a healthy level of fear (Afraid).
Blumhouse has a good track record so safe bet it'll be a solid "grade A" movie. But given Blumhouse's usual shtick when it comes to horror, there's a good bet the supernatural will be involved. P.S. But as a techie, I _personally_ find the whole fear of AI to be a bit over exaggerated. But that's my personal opinion of course.
@@lanita_mcgray There's a few movies from the mid 90's - early 2000's with similar premises. Just google movies with AI and the word "horror" and you're bound to come across it on like page 20 or so. LOL.
@@saunga1 Idk i think ppl will think its supernatural but itll end up being someone who hacked into the faulty AIA system (as it seems like the family is one of the first to try it)
@@fishbear2961 I remember back in the 90s when The 5th Element was being previewed. I was going to a lot of movies during that time, so I saw that movie's preview frequently. The only thing they gave us was a black empty field of stars and a big silver 5 that slowly came in to view and rotated to face the audience. That was the preview for The 5th Element. And it worked. I wanted to see that movie badly. Of course, I finally did......and well, that's when the disappointment set in. Not a great movie, and definitely not worthy of such an ominous and mysterious preview. But the point being, less was so much more.
You're right, it seems like they're simply making a US version of the same film, which was originally Danish. Apparently it's more common than I thought (The Ring, Let The Right One In, etc.)
@ASirensFlame Reminds me of Turistas and Train (2008) where people are traveling and then captured and have their organs/body parts removed for sale. That doesn't mean it won't be good, but it's not a new idea
actually the only kind of movies these days that don't suck. the only one that albeit a rehash looks like it was made with passion is Nosferatu, just in time for the xmas spirit
It's challenging being 50 years old and finding a good movie lately. A lot of this is either a remake or the same storyline just rehashed from a different directors point of view. I enjoyed Black Mirror when it first came out cuz it was a lot of new "ideas". Hard to find new ideas in cinema these days.
There is no excitement with prequels. We already know the ending. Hollywood is unoriginal and clearly out of ideas. The only decent movies are A24 and Neon movies
@@GOPSlayer yes but I have a personal connection as a family member died of cancer while I agree having seen LONGLEGS yesterday and loved it you don't need to stand on a soapbox man
@@lauramorkel5554 Is Longlegs in theaters? How are people watching it? My Dad and step mom died of cancer when I was still in my 20s about 10 years ago, so I get the whole cancer thing.
@@GOPSlayer That’s what is say when people ask me if I’m gonna see it. There’s been two movies already so you know everyone dies. Unless they showed who sent the monsters I might just wait till they make part 3.
Whoever thought of the Smile franchise is a genius. "Hey we need to make a new horror movie but with a limited budget for effects....just have them smile weird sir...that's genius!"
The actual smile creature that appeared at the end of the first movie and climbed inside the girl is one of the most terrifying things i will ever see 😭
My 100% I'm gonna watch watchlist: - Alien - Smile 2 - Longlegs - Dead Sea My I might see this if I remember watchlist: - Nosferatu - Beetlejuice 2 - Speak no Evil
Looking forward to "Never Let Go"(reminds me a little of "It Comes At Night"). And "Speak No Evil"looks fantastic, but maybe I'm colored by my fandom of James Macavoy.
@@Bunbunfunfunwho the hell are you? Siskel and Ebert? Yeah like A24 puts out bad horror movies… Dude doesn’t know the different between “your” and “you’re” and he’s an advanced film critic. Piss off
I’m excited for Smile 2 mainly because it stars Naomi Scott the actress who played Jasmine in the Aladdin 2019 remake. She’s amazing and I’m excited to see her in a horror movie.
Am I the only one thinking that every scary movie is about faith. I miss tremors , cocoon , first encounter, alien, the fly, swamp thing and the grey (human eating animals )! Imagine being eaten alive by things and life we encounter everyday. Also did you know mosquitoes suck your blood!! Fact they also transfer diseases so try to prevent it with any protection and know disease are transferred through human contact and we all in the soup, unless we prevent ourselves by taking all precautions.
LONGLEGS looks savage, AFRAID has a fresh story line & contemporary scary AI theme, HERETIC has a claustrophobic vibe to it & Hugh Grant, Speak No Evil reminds me of something vaguely similar, an episode in a end of days show, was it Black Summer? STARVE ACRE has a craftily edited trailer, COOCKOO seems deranged enough
Like seriously though who would’ve believed John malcavoy would do be so fucking good at being the bad guy like psychotic fucking twisted batshit crazy roles? He’s good but imho trumping ledgers joker type status! He’s killin it! Literally!
I don´t think I can take Hugh Grant serious as a villain in that movie Heretic. Probably seems a bit strange at first, but maybe you get used to it during the film.
If movies are done & ready then why do they take soooo long to be released! I airways wondered that. &’Quiet place day 1 was crap I thought. Beetleguise looks cool, similar to 1st one which is awesome. I personally think He’ll Boy’s crooked man looks freakier than their other ones & scarier the better!!! Everyone’s raving about Longlegs but I haven’t seen it yet same w Maxxine. I hope they don’t disappoint! 🙏🏼🤣
Omfg sooooo so happy they did smile 2 and so quickly bc that shit was one of the best horror movies in a while like it’s so fucking hard to truly pull off a successful horror movie well rounded in all departments and 2 looks just as insanely creepy
2:52 Da 1, da 2, da 3 and Dafoe!!!😂 As far a 'Smile', I liked the first one--not sure I can with stand the 2020s pop star angle of this one. I may for the 3rd one if there is one.
🌸 I think best out of the list is Nosferatu, Heretic & Never Let Go I will watch Beatle Juice as I am fond of it The most disturbing to watch will be Longlegs, Cuckoo and I think Dead Sea will be uncomfortable to watch, due to common fear of sharks, & organ on black market and Schlitter which just mimic Saw but outdoors 😂 The Abandoned is just another experiment movie like Cube, we’ve seen it
@@florianrenner8573 I have, but I’ll probably wait til its streaming. Besides, it might be a nice adaptation. I’m sure it’ll be better than most sci-fi channel movies. Like ALL the multiheaded shark movies. So annoying.
Hopefully the US version of Speak no Evil, has the same ending as the original Danish movie, but doubt they have the balls to do so, its nut fun and uplifting. Great movie
I saved this video to a file. I’m making a now to watch all of them when they come back just for fun. I love horror films so let’s see if they’re all good. I am dreading Longlegs though. Even the trailer creeps me out.
