The quickest pathway to learning and understanding digital marketing is speaking to others who are already established in this field and using them as a resource of information, additionally an intership in a digital agency is a great way to get your foot in the door. There are many facets to digital marketing and e-commerce specialists are potentially the most in demand, primarily PPC, Affiliate, E-mail and any other direct response channels are key to learn when looking to work with online retailers and any businesses that sells online. I find it strange that there's no mention of data insight or interpretation of metrics as these are also critical when working in the sector. It's all great being able to do digital marketing but if you can't make sense of the numbers or data then how will you know if your marketing efforts have worked and if you can use the learnings for future campaigns.

A lot of people go to college and come out with no job ideas or nothing in their field because they thought the degree gets you the job, when in reality it's the people you met in college, professors, organizations, etc. that are the connections you wanted and needed to make in order to actually find your way around in the field to get to your desired job.

I'm 18 and just graduated high school and am realizing that to make money and earn freedom, YOU NEED SKILLS. College will only get you so far and I'm definitely realizing that, as I just finished my first semester over the summer.

Woah, it would more beneficial in country in India. Average earning of an engineer is around ₹12 lakh per year and a doctor is around ₹16 lakh per year, and when you'll convert $50,000 into ₹, it'll be approx ₹32 lakh, damn. I've already enrolled for four year degree in Computer Science Engineering. If I spend 45 min daily for next four year, will it be sufficient?

Soooo are everyone going to get a job in digital marketing now? You speak off the world as your company will just develop new products out off thin air. We need engineers, we need scientists, we need people in trades. And how do we get jobs jn those areas? Well we need some sort of proof of minimum level of knowledge in the field. We cant all be youtuberes, company founders, digital marketing experts etc.

I like cooking a lot, but being in a restaurant's kitchen is pretty hard (your work hours are too long, you never get to go out, you will always work at the holidays and basically you will do nothing more in your life). But I also really like the idea of digital marketing. Should I follow digital marketing and at the same time make cooking videos??

I have actually started studying business informatics just to do digital marketing later. I learn mostly the same things and will even have a bachelor's degree as a backup plan in case something unexpected happens. Doesn't seem like I should quit ;)

Hey Improvement Pill, I just finished watching your video and I really enjoyed it, really solid points all throughout. I just had a light conversation about digital marketing with my mother and she liked the idea but had a theory about "how everything (products, services etc) has already been created" She thinks that since theirs a large population of products already created that there isn't really a point of investing time into this, whats your opinion on this. Also watching this video made me very interested into this industry, I'm 17 and live in New Zealand and am thinking of going into the radio industry (next years plan is to go towards tertiary education for around $7,500 for 20 weeks) do you think its worth doing tertiary education as well as learning about digital marketing? (i'm also interested in photography, media (films) music and social media (youtube) I would really appreciate your advise as I need to find a job soon :) thanks really enjoy the content

If you run into a "World wide dream builder" do whatever you can to earn that opportunity.

Not only do courses go more into detail, but they save you time. Why have to scatter bits of information when you can find it all in one place. Plus most of the online programs usually offer customer service, in case you still have any questions.

They'll machines doing all the work. Machines doing construction, warehouse, fast food, car mechanics, jobs. Literally they will do it all. Computer operator machines will even do the marketing online. Robots, computer, machines. All the same

There are tons of other careers that pay much better and don't require college degrees. Most people that go into this haven't sold a thing in their life's by 17 and yet think they can start a digital marketing agency? Just do what you want to do and not follow trends.

You're right, this is a very interesting and exciting field to work in. As a student of information technology (which is more about programming, computer science and developing software in all it's aspects), I thought about doing something like this (managing Facebook pages, RU-vid profiles and social media in a field which fits my interests) pretty much every time I was searching for job offers. Actually, there's a specialized college degree you can aquire in my country called media information science which contains a little bit of the computer science aspects, but focuses much more on how to design your products and interact with your customers in order to maximize your success.

So why did you tell us this? Isn't it better to not tell anyone about this and keep going in this field yourself longer so others will not notice this high demand? Or is this just half-truth? I really do think that there shouldn't be any easy money in the world.

I'm a bit skeptical. Since it is so easy now, I'm guessing a lot of people would study digital marketing and the job market wouldn't be as great in the near future.

Has anybody on here actually took the time to look for Digital Marketing jobs on Indeed, etc? Or did you just watch a seemingly convincing video and comment "Big money", when 95% of these jobs on Indeed actually require a Bachelors Degree? It really isn't all sunshines and rainbows when they are still requiring college credits, very misleading.

Improvement pill I was planning to travel to the US from Nigeria where I am from to study medicine but few week ago I discovered digital marketing and your video just made me fall more in love with it. The problem though is that my country respects certificates more from abroad than our own country.
