Me too! I doubt I'd ever wear a nude, I want dramatic colors that are seen if I am going through putting it on. Same on the face. But I still must watch this! I own two $1 store nudes to use for removing glitter polish.
Can I just say how much I appreciate the inclusivity and thoughtfulness of this list? Not only picking for a range of skin tones but a range of skin undertones as well? That's so rad.
I genuinely love how easy going you are, and the very friendly but informative vibes, It really makes me feel like grabbing a cup of tea and join the chat! Thank you so much for sharing with us! And also, IT'S SO SATISFYING TO SEE SUCH PERFECT APPLICATION, is seriously hypnotic hahaha. *enough with me fangirling, sorry!!* Can't wait to see more!
I’d love if brand favorites were added to this series! Favorite OPIs, favorite China glaze, favorite ILNP, etc. I’d also love favorite full coverage glitters!
Every time you apologized for a polish not being a nude, I wanted to shake you (in a friendly and loving way). It's your video! Do what you want and don't apologize. And those who complain are likely to be people who complain no matter what. 😘
Yes, so right. When you love nude you also love the browns and Grey's. Just calming down the manicure when you had a week of colorful nailart on your nails.
I like the nudes with a little sparkle or irdirescence because they are a good compromise between my usual colorful sparkly polish and work meetings/events that call for neutral polishes. Other "favorites" video suggestions: favorite polishes for nail art, favorite polishes for winter, favorite pastels, favorite metalics/jewel tones. I collect postcards but I haven't gotten any this year because I have gone nowhere.
The way that you included shades that may suit all skintones from the lightest to the darkest was all I needed to become a new subscriber. So bomb! You became my best friend in my head once you swatched various nudes with a twist -shimmer, frosts, glitters. On myself, I've always wanted to find 'my' color but generally find nudes boring on me. So the nudes with something extra are really cool.
Oh YES! This is such a cool idea! Although I'm already seeing poor Kelli looking horrified like a hunted deer in the headlights...😳😰 Picking only 20 polishes from the whole collection could feel like an overwhelming task...🤔 But hey @kellimarissa if you are up to it, we all would definitely salute your braveness! 😁🥰😘
Kelli my dad started me collecting $2 bills when I was a little girl. I have added a few to them, through the years after he passed away. I will ALWAYS treasure them & the good memories we made together.
😳 I didn't know there were such thing as two-dollar-bills? Things you learn on youtube.... Just checked it on Wikipedia. I live in Europe, maybe Americans know the 2- dollar-bills.
I've just started loving brown polishes, so this video is a godsend! This is incredibly thorough and I loved every second! I appreciate the time you spent on this!
When you do future polish reviews/favorite videos, could you also talk about how long the last? When I choose polish, I actually care about the formula more than the color, I’m not sure if I’m the only one!
Hey Jessica! I'd honestly love to include this info but I don't for a couple of reasons - one being that I don't really wear polishes for more than a couple of days because I'm constantly swatching for this channel haha, and the other being that everyone's body chemistry is different with polish! I know that some brands that don't last on me (like Zoya doesn't stay on for a week) can stay on for weeks for someone else (my mom wears Zoya for two weeks at a time with no chips!)
I change my manicures quite frequently, but when I can't, i've noticed that zoya, loud lacquer, and orly stay on quite well I always use a dehydrator (cuccio), a strengthener ( dry and brittle nails from opi), base coat (orly bonder), 2 coats of color, sometimes 3. Then I've been loving the "out the door" topcoat (BIG AF bottle for $15 from sally beauty) it dries all my layers enough to go to bed within an hour of doing my nails.
I LOVE how you describe the colors! So DETAILED and accurate and nuanced! Thank you for that excellence in your channel! Bought SO MANY new polishes because of you! Love you girl! ❤
Hey Kelli! Loved the video-- some of these are perfect for the office and when I want a break from glitters... I'm so jealous of your polish collection! Have you ever thought of making a video on the rarest bottles you have? Discontinued shades/brands (any maybe some dupes for them)?
Brown is probably my favorite color so I love most of these, and it totally still counts if it's sparkly! I love ilnp for holographic nude/beige polishes because they have some that are absolutely stunning. Soft Focus is my favorite there. Oh, and Cherubic from Color Club! It's kind of a champagne gold holo, but it almost matches my skin tone so I think it counts
Have you done favorite Christmas polishes? Or favorite polishes for nail art? I know not all polishes are ideal for nail art. Would love to see your holiday faves.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the giant swatch displaying all the reviewed colors. It's super helpful, especially when you already have one of them and don't want to duplicate that specific look. You rock (per usual).
i normally am not the hugest fan of speckled polishes but the picture polish lucky shade is SO PRETTY AAAAA!!! i absolutely love your videos because i find polishes that i normally wouldnt pick up that are actually stunning
Oh my gosh, I never EVER buy darker browns because I don't think that I'd like them. But this video has opened my eyes to new possibilities, so thank you so much!
I was shopping around for the perfect nude polish shade last week and I purchased the OPI "Tiramisu For Two" shade. I absolutely love it and it literally lasted one whole week without chipping. I painted a white leaf design on it, looked gorgeous with the beige shade. Thank you for posting so I can see what other beige shades to buy!
I love neutral and n*@es!! They just do something magical to my soul that I shed a tear. And yes, they can have flakes and holos!. My favorite is taupe color holos. I love all color but neutrals speak to my soul. I love that this a major swatch fest. THANK YOU Kelli.
I just got ILNP Quicksand this week, which has instantly become my favorite nude polish! The base is a cool taupe but it reflects a warm red/gold shimmer and it is stunning.
I tried to do my Thanksgiving feast menu planning while watching, but quickly had to abandon that due to the beauty of your swatches. I just couldn't miss even one polish shade. I kept trying to decide if I prefer the softer, understated colors or the ones with a little sparkly interest. Impossible decision for any nail polish addict. Thanks for all your content, Kelli -- you're really helping so many of us get through this pandemic. And Happy Thanksgiving if you celebrate!!
I've been in love with Orly's Canyon Clay since it came out. I should've ordered two! Love all of these! I'm gonna go paint my nails a nudey color now :)
I have ZOYA Foster and I love it. ZOYA Laura really surprised me on how good It looked with my chocolate skin tone. I just received ZOYA Emilia in the mail on Thursday and have yet to try it so I cannot wait. I never heard of ZOYA Kateri but will add to my Wishlist. ZOYA has their Naturel collection coming out soon, I’m assuming they fall into the Nude category (not familiar what makes a nude) and I am excited. ZOYA Cala and Enza pretty nice nudes too that I would recommend trying. I just purchased approximately 27 new polishes this week (18 from Zoya and 9 from Believe Beauty) and I am seriously contemplating on getting the Cuccio Chocolate collection and some more I-Scream polishes lol
Oh wow sounds like a good nail polish week for you haha! Yeah, Zoya is really incredible in terms of color range, and it seems like every color works great on any skintone! I think you'd really love that Cuccio collection too, such great formulas!
I really like nude nail polishes. I lean towards the medium browns even though I have very light olive skin. As for the sparkly nude polishes on your list - wow! I think it would be so awesome to wrangle all of them up and give them as a gift to someone or you know, to myself. 😋 Gorgeous polishes!!! tfs! 💅🏽💞🌸
DIRTY COUCH I REMEMBER THIS I had a couch in the basement where I used to live that was pretty much that exact color and I have not been able to stop thinking about it since
While I can’t say I’m a big nude polish kinda person I do love favorite videos!! Love seeing some of that Cuccio line here cause that collection is only the third full collection I have ever bought in my life! I’m here for 42 polish fave vids, how far you’ve come from just 10-12 colors!
I was looking forward to this because nude polish is my jam. I tend to gravitate towards light nude with pinky undertones. My favorite is OPI Bubble Bath.
Normally not into nudes and browns but you shared some really bootiful polishes. :D i should open up to them more! don’t bossa nova me around looks like a great match for my skin tone.
From your descriptions, I learned that I actually like copper glitter in my polishes. Can't believe I never noticed that about the glitters and shimmers I lean towards 😅
Oh, thank you for this great idea. I got one favourite polish in grey-pink- shimmer and I tried to make it work by adding thinner. It is at least 10 years old I guess and there is no colour like this. Next time I just use thin topcoat.
I don’t like how nudes look on me (that is anything close to my skin tone) but those chocolate browns look so good! Kelli I like your vibe. Very chill and friendly.
This video is so important. 💕 I always come back to nudes after having red, blue, grey, purple nails and nailart. When I started doing shellac to strengthen my natural nail I had one nude only. Now it is three nudes in shellac plus the regular polish nudes. I like better to take my nail undertone for polish instead of skin undertone. My nails got some purple tone. So I had to pimp my boring beige shellac. Put some drops of violet shellac into the beige shellac plus some drops of pink with shimmer. It looks perfect now.
I've been really enjoying your swatch videos, you do a great job. I've especially been enjoying the winter/holiday swatches. There seem to be a lot of silver glitters this year. I'd love to see you do a comparison.
Wow, such an awesome review! I especially love the final screen shot of all the swatches; so very helpful! Kelli you are amazing for having done this review!!! Truly appreciated
Great video as always! My perfect nude is Whole Latte Fun by China Glaze. I collect shoes , specifically sneakers. It's an expensive habit and with the pandemic I don't have the opportunity to wear them much which is a bummer.
Recently found your channel. Love it! I was specifically looking for nude halos. Thanks so much! :-) You have the best nail channel on youtube by far. The screen grabs are so helpful too! :)
She is pretty amazing! I never miss any of her swatch and review videos. Also, her personality is super likeable. I like to think I would be her friend in real life.
It would be fun to see a favorites video where you pick just one of each color in the rainbow/extra categories. One each of ROYGBP, pink, nude, black, grey, white, specialty.
Your thumbnail and intro... Why are you sooo adorable Kelli?! 🥺😂❤️ They are all amazing, but I think my absolute favorites are, Orly "roam with me", Starrily "Nala", Essie "Mani thanks", and China glaze "glow worthy".
SOOOOO GLAD you included the sparkly-shimmer polishes as that was my favorite part!!! 💞Starrily Nala💞 is my top pick & there are 5 more sparkly nudes out of that section that I will be on the hunt for ASAP! Thank you so much for the video & for not limiting the number of your polish favs--the more polish, the better!! 😁😁 ~Ginger
When I was a little kid, I would collect anything! I had a rubber (fishing) worm collection, a key collection, and a used gift card/fake credit card/membership card collection. In my teens, it was Jurassic Park toys. In my early 20s, I collected 3rd generation My Little Pony. I started with nail polish in my 30s. I'll be 41 in a couple months, and so far it seems like nail polish is here to stay!
Looooved that you did all the shades from beige to chocolate, thank you!!! I was looking for the perfect 'nude' tone and this was amazingly helpful! 😍 Though now I'll probably end up buying like four different colors instead of just 1 or 2 😅.
I love the favorite series! Maybe you can do an all time favorite nail polish video.. and I'm still waiting for a simple base and top coat favorites (but I'm sure that will come) And I know this is a nail polish channel, but I'm curious about your favorite books too because I know you read a lot..
I bought the Lights Lauer nude collection and I love all but one with my skin tone. Brights are my constant fave, but any time I wear a nude polish, my hubby loves it.
