highrollerlion hes coming back in season 3. This arsenal and red hood duo is about to be real asf. Both sidekicks that were tortured and have the same character
Yes, Roy looming out of the shadows with the same domino mask on his face at 1:20 is hilarious. He probably picked his mask up off the sidewalk when Oliver and the other Roy turned around offscreen. In all seriousness, he’d been on ice for 8 years, so let’s cut him some slack. Maybe that mask he parted ways with outside of LexCorp was just too small for him then. /s
Can we just sit for a moment and think about how much utter *destruction* Arsenal and Red Hood could do if the writers bring them back for a team up in the new season?
@@nijohn12 its kinda sad actually. He missed out on 8 years of his life. He is a bit neurotic due to what happened to him. The fact that they just put him on the team into more trouble without first getting him help is such a failure on the adult's half of things.
@@nainenalina511 true true i agree like he shouldve gone on leave first but i had a feeling the team had bigger fish to fry. Also i know they teased Jason coming back 😈 he and arsenal make one heck of a duo both completely neurotic, traumatized, and waaay over the line. I really hope season 4 will give us an episode or two like "downtime" where we cam see YJ deal with their own personal problems so we can get an insight on what's goin on with them more personally
@@nainenalina511 bruh I ain't tryna hear that Speedy woke up learned what happened and launched a well coordinated attack on Lex and even compromised with him. Yes the man is traumatized, his actions are understandable but it endangers his teammates and those around him. Plus no one put him on the field he wanted back in immediately especially after he got that arm.
They paint Arsenal as a nutjob but really both the Justice League and the Young Justice teams completely failed him. For far less trauma the YJ team sat down with Black Canary, where is any sort of psychological help for Roy? Yes he's angry and pushing everyone away but can they even imagine what he went through? There is so much they should've done before clearing him for active duty again.
I think if they had tried to help him then they would've realized he is completely unsuited for being put in the field with the other characters. At a minimum he'd need seasoned leadership to keep him under control - so the ep where he's on Robin's team would've been seen like a really really bad idea.
FreakyLynx how do you know that they would think he's unsuited he could've acted perfectly normal. and it's not like it was a hard mission it was a get in and get out mission nice and easy
Well look, we have a limited number of episodes to observe his behavior so there are some assumptions that have to be made. But Arsenal hasn't exactly been subtle with his feelings about Lex or his emotional state. And if Nightwing had been aware of previous issues, would he be surprised that Arsenal reacted the way he did when confronted with possibly being held captive? That seems incredibly obtuse considering that basically everyone but a clone cared to search for him after he disappeared - even though they'd known for at least five years he'd been missing. Also for the leader of the YJ, Nightwing not taking more than a moment to kick Arsenal off the team after an accusation from Bee?
FreakyLynx no that's not true, everyone one searched for him for years but when Jim found out that cadmus kills the source material they gave up yeah of course nightwing was going to kick him off the team, he went too far if it wasn't for the runaways they probably wouldn't have got the rest of the team
He's a literal loose cannon, not someone you'd want on your team in real life, but he's so freaking cool. He takes the meaning of Bad Boy to a whole new level. I really hope him, Nightwing, and Lagaan get more screentime, because they were very underused in season 2.
I totally agree, only archer in all of comic history that's even interesting and the icing on the cake most badass character on the show. Hope they have a red hood cameo so we can get a glimpse of the outlaws in season 3
They made Arsenal out to be a deranged, somewhat crazy, and angry guy loose canon who can't take orders but i feel this is more the fault of the league than anything else. He was on ice for what 8 years and after a while everyone stopped looking for him and that was AFTER they learned he was replaced with a clone. As soon as he got out it was clear he wasn't stable. He immediately seeked revenge and blamed Green Arrow. If they had given him any physiological help to seeing as he was literally frozen for years they would have seen he is not ready to be on a team especially a covert one. At the very least him, green arrow, and red arrow should have been a team first to work through their issues.
koolboy895 based on the fact there were no scenes of it at all nor any mention of it and the fact that one his first mission he failed to follow orders and jeopardized the mission
koolboy895 true but the fact of the matter is nothing was scene or showed to even imply that he was given help. Nothing was mentioned about it and if they actually had given him help they wouldn't put him in a team environment or put him on a team with a new leader (tim drake) for his first mission.
Civil War would they have needed to show you? it seems pretty obvious to me that they would try to help him and maybe they thought it was better for him to be on the team then go out on his own because that's what he would've done
in the comics, Green Arrow "fired" Red Arrow due to "issues" and Red Arrow started getting drunk, he got into a fight with Killer Croc and actually tried to bait Killer Croc into killing him, but instead Killer Croc signed Red Arrow up for rehab and sponsored his rehab Red Arrow then switched his codename to Arsenal and teamed up with Red Hood "a fellow reject sidekick"
@@BlazinBlack109 episode 4 has red arrow, arsenal and guardian (roy harpers other clone) working together with nightwing in one episode... very trippy hearing crispin freeman argue with two other versions of himself
Arsenal rocks. I'd like to see more of his adventures. As well as Meta-gene gang he briefly teamed up with during the assault on the war world. C'mon Season 3. So waiting for it.
That would be cool since it was confirmed the team thinks that Jason is dead but when Arsenal got re-invited to the team he declined it since he wants to go solo so maybe he will meet up with Jason later on
"Gotta love modern weapons tech, easier for a one armed man to use a rocket launcher than to pull on his pants." This is why i love arsenal, he's an absolute badass and has a good sence of Humor.
Hopefully they bring in the outlaws with him, red hood, and kori. I think it’d really fit in with how they portray him in the show. And it’d be a nice contrast for the team since the outsiders broke up.
I freaking hate how the young justice team treated him, especially when Nightwing kicked him out after he freaked out on the ship which actually saved the whole goddamn team. And for a guy who has PTSD because he's in crysis for 8 goddamn years, he really handled himself well, despite Black Canary not treating him at all, Oliver who gave up searching for him which definitely has a great toll on Arsenal. Imo he is the most well developed character in the show in S2, either the viewers despise him bc he is a nutjob or they are relate to him and understand his situation and actions.
The whole clone ordeal with Roy is just fuck up. After waking up and finding out the truth, Roy has to face the fact that his life will never be the same and that he is treated by everyone else as this angry teenager/ vigliante noobie that they just only met. I don't mind the writing for most of the series but the fact that his clone is accepted by everyone to be the real Roy Harper just feels wrong. I feel that the writing for Roy after waking up is not justified enough, they should have treated him like he still has something with everyone who knows him, and have the clones killed off.
Debatable but yeah their kinda the same. And going off only the mcu version of bucky and the YJ version of Roy no contest Roy is better mainly because of the story
Love the Nightwing fanboys defending him left and right, Arsenal did what he had to do, and if it weren't for his dumb move, everyone would've been captured. That's the outcome either you like it or not, not to mention the most realistic, like really no matter how much of a badass team player you think you are, the idea if getting captured after what he went through is a definite no no.
Will N I definitely think Arsenal was right they would have been captured nearly most of their heavy hitters were out and been power definitely wasn’t going to win anything Arsenal had problems The fact that they didn’t help him just said yeah get on the team without any problem is not ok this was an obvious situation in hing sight
@@Sun-cg6lv then again, hindsight is always 20/20. I'm no fan of either guys, but the man's a loose cannon, literally and figuratively. I don't want him in any team for that matter, not even a villains team.
Slade Wilson the Mercenary It was luck that Arsenal made it out alive, but he still threw the entire team under a bus to save his own skin. He never intended to free them, or try to provide cover, or told them he'll be back. He ran away leaving his teammates confused which allowed them to get captured easier
War Machine He *was* saving his own skin. He freaked out and ran away, and left his team to be captured. Regardless of him being traumatized he *ran away* and left people in danger. Thats a red flag in for any team regardless if the dude manages to save the day.
Now Jason just needs to get away from the League of Assassins, get mad at Batman, become Red Hood, become a crime Lord, then team up with Starfire and Roy.
2:17 they were angry at Arsenal for doing that, but they didn't consider how he might have been traumatized by getting kidnapped and iced. Actually, the league never did anything for the original Speedy. None of them
What Casey said. In the DC universe, Wayne Enterprises makes all of DC's military hardware, and Wayne Enterprise's military research division is said to be top-notch; practically unmatched by any other rival competitor. Wayne Enterprise's weapon's division is the Stark Industries of the DC universe. Plus, it's entirely possible to shoot an RPG one-handed. Not ideal, but if you really wanted, you could.
I absolutely loved that fact, that instead of going "Spiderman Clone Saga" batshit on Red Arrow, he is GRATEFUL to him, and does not blame him for anything, like not asking to be created first place! That was one of the best moments ever.
Loved the storyline, the reality is that real Roy was nowhere close to being mentally stable enough to go on missions. He needed lots of mental health care to make come to grips with being frozen, in effect forgotten, and used as a lab rat.
Red arrow is better guy might started as just clone but through his trail by he really showed that is better at combat working with other and putting himself together
Arsenal was honestly a delight. I never failed to laugh whenever he was on screen because he was always pulling the wildest shit. Making an assassination attempt on the man who tormented him by rocket launching him in his own damn office? Inspirational. That bomb he placed to deter Green Arrow and Roy from following him AND to make a dramatic exit? A work of art. Telling Superboy to duck AFTER shooting the rocket launcher in his direction? Peak comedy. This boy is treating his life like it's a video game with endless lives because he's been frozen for almost a decade and doesn't give a fuck anymore. I also loved that he went off to go with the Runaways, some of my other favorite characters in YJ, because I like to imagine them getting into all sorts of trouble together. It's a goddamn shame we didn't see more of him in the show, because I love this loose canon.
I personally think they dropped the ball with arsenal. They could have made him a pragmatic hero who's more heavy handed approach had shades of Jerkass Has A Point but instead they made him a trigger happy psycho more interested in hurting people he doesn't like than protecting people from them.
There was not enough of him in the season 2. There were to many of insignificant characters, and too much attention was put in lame ones such as Lagoon Boy (for Neptune's beard, what a jerk) instead of focusing on those actually interesting ones like Arsenal.
"So the new Roy goes by red arrow. Wow, that's an original name" He is not the first to think that, but Roy Harper's character is just so awesome that his name doesnt seem important.
